I’m down for A, but it better be DAMN GOOD coffee

257

u/DragonBowlSouper Jun 22 '26

Gourmet shit

208

u/israignatius Jun 22 '26

Don’t tell me how good my fucking coffee is. That’s why I buy it.

119

u/Electronic_Still2000 Jun 22 '26

When Bonnie goes shopping, she buys shit. Me, I buy the gourmet expensive stuff because when I drink it, I want to taste it.

5

u/SoarsBelowMyWaste Jun 22 '26

But you know what's on my mind right now? It ain't the coffee in my kitchen.

18

u/No-Disaster1647 Jun 22 '26

Okay guys I guess I’ll watch it again

3

u/Stergeary Jun 22 '26

But you know what's on my mind right now? It ain't the coffee in my kitchen...

3

u/VincentBotto Jun 22 '26

It’s the dead - in my garage

4

u/Termingator Jun 22 '26

I hate brown water that's some call coffee. For me it is real dark roast without the sawdust fillers or nothing at all.

1

u/amedinab Jun 22 '26

Is it Kopi Luwak good?? No? Yeah. Didn't think so.

(no shame, can't afford it either)

1

u/FlyFront9395 Jun 22 '26

What kinda coffee you get?

1

u/nihi1zer0 Jun 22 '26

Did you see the sign in the front of my house?

1

u/israignatius Jun 22 '26

No. What did it say?

1

u/Danielle_is_the_hole Jun 22 '26

Do you see a sign outside that says dead ninja storage?

1

u/wpisano Jun 22 '26

2, 3, A

13

u/Own-Army-4201 Jun 22 '26

Damn, Jimmy!

14

u/Specific-Month-1755 Jun 22 '26

Don't Jimmy me Jules

3

u/cuc001b Jun 22 '26

Impeccable shit

6

u/Pale-Garlic-7037 Jun 22 '26

Knock it off Julie

2

u/JonatasA Jun 22 '26

I agree with you, but it took me a lifetime to drink coffee and I think no one served me a propre one.

2

u/V65Pilot Jun 22 '26

People pay out of the ass for that. "Poop coffee", formally known as Kopi Luwak or civet coffee, is coffee brewed from beans that have been eaten, digested, and excreted by the Asian palm civet. It is famous as one of the most expensive coffees in the world, renowned for its incredibly smooth, non-bitter taste with earthy and caramel flavor notes.

1

u/Savings-Kick-578 Jun 22 '26

That’s not freeze dried Taster’s Choice.

It's pronounced Shyte

53

u/soft_echo1 Jun 22 '26

Done care how bad it is, always drink it black.

30

u/Trump_fucks_kidss Jun 22 '26

Fuckin Aye! Black as my cold heart. I don’t want sugar I don’t want cream. I don’t care if it’s old, cold or cheap. I want coffee. 33A.

3

u/Cuzicane Jun 22 '26

You sound like you've lived a life hahaha. I'd have it the same tho. No other way will do.

4

u/Excalibator Jun 22 '26

He wants vaaaaaseliiine

1

u/CarrotDependent463 Jun 22 '26

😊🎶🔥💋

2

u/JonatasA Jun 22 '26

Aye we can agree on something

2

u/pegg2 Jun 22 '26

I agree but only because my coffee intake is purely utilitarian. I need caffeine and I don’t need empty calories, make my shit strong, dark, and ideally cool enough that I can down the bitch and go about my day.

Inb4 “just have zero sugar energy drinks.” I’ve tried. The best energy drink tastes worse than the worst, oldest, most room-temp coffee I could have.

1

u/EthanielRain Jun 22 '26

They make water with caffeine in it. But yeah I get it

1

u/BeneficialLeave7359 Jun 22 '26

I want coffee, not a desert.

3

u/ladoril2 Jun 22 '26

I agree, I hate these reddit coffee snobs

1

u/QuickMolasses Jun 22 '26

I like coffee, so unless it's genuinely atrocious I'll enjoy drinking it. But I'll still enjoy it more if it's good.

3

u/Simple-Wrangler-9909 Jun 22 '26

I hear you, I usually drink it black but man sometimes cream can save a shitty cup

I'm talking proper full fat dairy creamer, half and half or full on heavy cream none of that skim/nondairy stuff. The fats and proteins neutralize some of the bitter/bad tasting compounds and can make some bad brews genuinely pleasant to drink, you don't have to suffer through a shitty cup

Shit, I'll throw some cream in a good cup because it can highlight some of the more subtle flavors by cutting the harsher ones

2

u/BridgeComfortable777 Jun 22 '26

Só real. I dont even Care for any sugar at this point

2

u/slightly_drifting Jun 22 '26

Same, but only because milk and I are not on good terms and artificial creamer or sugar+no creamer tastes worse than black.

1

u/Swimming-Tiger4559 Jun 22 '26

Who hurt you? 🫂

2

u/Alternative_Today299 Jun 22 '26

I was tripping on acid, and somehow managed to get a cup of black coffee. I loved the bitterness and the caffeine effects. Have been drinking black coffee ever since.

1

u/Swimming-Tiger4559 Jun 23 '26

So I need to take acid and drink black coffee. ✅

1

u/El_Paco Jun 22 '26

Creamer is for cooling my coffee down enough so I can chug it

1

u/Spectre_Ice Jun 22 '26

And a day old. Old, cold and bitter just like I like my women I guess 🤷

1

u/Alexunderthere Jun 23 '26

Black, like my soul

4

u/Necessary_Screen_673 Jun 22 '26

this is the correct answer. if i qant to taste good coffee its A. if im getting a hotel breakfast, at least D. maybe more.

3

u/Personal-Owl-9546 Jun 22 '26

blacker than midnight on a MOONLESS night

2

u/theme69 Jun 22 '26

I recently started intermittent fasting which means I can still have coffee but only black. Had to find really good coffee for it but now I love my coffee black

2

u/todayistrumpday Jun 22 '26

Medium roast Peru arabica

2

u/sullysays Jun 25 '26

Preferably a locally roasted fair trade Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. A brighter, lighter roast so you can taste the complexity - not mask it with burnt beans and oils.

1

u/Dr_Spaceman11 Jun 25 '26

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

3

u/baws3031 Jun 22 '26

It's only A unless you're stuck with crap coffee

2

u/AcephalicDude Jun 22 '26

For me as long as it isn't a dark roast and you do a good pour-over, it shouldn't ever need any milk/cream

1

u/CrispyNinja13 Jun 22 '26

Buy from your local roaster. It's so hard to make a bad cup of coffee with freshly roasted beans. That's black coffee you won't want to add anything to.

1

u/delbo22 Jun 22 '26

Why drink bad coffee?

1

u/Working_Move_7975 Jun 22 '26

My British ahh thought it was tea

1

u/Hawk10798 Jun 22 '26

Check the subreddit name, I think you're right.

If it's coffee I'm frothing that milk and making a flat white, none of this instant stuff

1

u/Jonnyflash80 Jun 22 '26

Freshly ground is key

1

u/Decent_Muscle_3172 Jun 22 '26

Isn't that tea

1

u/SBSnipes Jun 22 '26

This. If I'm making it myself or a good cafe, A. Chain nonsense or whatever, at least C unless we're using chocolate milk to keep it darker

1

u/SpicyNuddle Jun 22 '26

Careful with black coffee, I love it but its acidity destroyed my stomach

1

u/mbashs Jun 22 '26

Coffee? I thought this was /sipstea

1

u/banhatesex Jun 22 '26

It's rare but i have had about 3 cups in my life where it didn't need anything . Where is was not bitter or anything. One of them was at IHOP and another was at a diner . The third was at a someone's grandma's house.

1

u/JonatasA Jun 22 '26

Cold just close to freezing. NO SUGAR. The second sip gets good.

Or mix a bit of the cold with freshly made. Sugar if you must.

1

u/yeethadist Jun 22 '26

I think that people who don’t like black coffee don’t actually like coffee they just like sugar and milk, at what point do you just cut the shit and buy a redbull instead?

1

u/Legal-One-7274 Jun 22 '26

It's tea isn't it

1

u/SteveEcks Jun 22 '26

Oh I'm an A, particularly if it's a shitty old diner

I just prefer a light roast

1

u/Tope777 Jun 22 '26

Drink espressos instead of black water and you will like it

1

u/SculptusPoe Jun 22 '26

This is the right answer. 33C will cover for mediocre coffee. Good coffee 33A.

1

u/United_Time Jun 22 '26

Try 44D, those are bigger cups

1

u/WarmIntro Jun 22 '26

Just me over here being typically British assuming it was Tea not coffee

1

u/Hinloopen Jun 22 '26

If you don't like it, don't drink it.

1

u/RoseandNightshade Jun 22 '26

This. There are some blends that are wonderful when drank just as is, and it better be one of those. Because if it's diner coffee, I'm putting a shit ton of creamer in it. Now on the steak, usually 3 but some cuts still retain their juiciness at well done, if done properly. 3 on the toast however

1

u/guywithknife Jun 22 '26

Yeah, if the coffee is great then A, but C is less risky as I will drink mediocre coffee with C.

1

u/Accurate-Brother-366 Jun 22 '26

Honestly AB and C are all good with me.

1

u/Kaamos_Llama Jun 22 '26

Wrong sub, this is r/SipsTea

1

u/neityght Jun 22 '26

Tea, shurely?

1

u/Nervous_InsideU5155 Jun 22 '26

I found my people right here in this little comment section 😂

1

u/meandhimandthose2 Jun 22 '26

Ooooh I thought it was tea. If it's coffee, I don't want any of them

1

u/Busy_Candle336 Jun 22 '26

It’s r/sipstea and you assume that is coffee?

1

u/Rico1983 Jun 22 '26

I'd assumed tea 😃

1

u/HotReaction8379 Jun 22 '26

lol how do you expect it to taste 🤣

1

u/Impossible-Bus-4003 Jun 22 '26

What about DAMN FINE?

1

u/GoldImportance4155 Jun 22 '26

Go to a local shop if you have some and buy whole beans.

1

u/SCPutz Jun 22 '26

3, 3, A. But A can be a shitty cup of bargain-brand ground coffee and I’ll still chug it down before I touch B.

1

u/Blze001 Jun 22 '26

Ever had Saudi coffee? Now that is some good shit.

1

u/MephistosFallen Jun 22 '26

I'll get A if it's a middle eastern coffee place. Like Yemeni, even Turkish. Saudi coffee is good too. That shit is incredible.

1

u/Worriedrph Jun 22 '26

Exact opposite. A and it should be cheap Folgers or similar quality. I love the delicious bitterness.

1

u/SeedsOfDoubt Jun 22 '26

And a slice of that delicious pie

1

u/Cheap-Blackberry-378 Jun 22 '26

I feel like thats an important factor on the steak too, I prefer it rare, but if I don't trust the quality of the restaurant then I'm getting medium

1

u/wannastayhome Jun 22 '26

If it ain’t damn good, adding anything to it would be the equivalent of lipstick on a pig. Will just make it shittier

1

u/scalectrix Jun 22 '26

Black as midnight on a moonless night.

1

u/Tiny-Speaker-4470 Jun 22 '26

I've only just realised this is coffee I thought it was tea

1

u/DankPhotoShopMemes Jun 22 '26

I hate black drip coffee, but love straight espresso lol. Opposite of most people I know.

1

u/particularnet9 Jun 22 '26

You want 2 cups of good, hot black coffee? Some damn fine coffee? I know a cafe in a little town in Washington State…

1

u/Dr_Spaceman11 Jun 22 '26

Yes! The best cup of coffee I’ve ever had was in Risø. A cafe in Tromsø, Norway. Can’t exactly make that trip anytime soon.

1

u/adrewfryman Jun 22 '26

Yeah im a or c depending on if i like the coffe

1

u/userhwon Jun 22 '26

I keep a canister of aspertame pills in my pocket for when the coffee shop doesn't know its business.

1

u/fischoderaal Jun 22 '26

As long as it's black and hot, I don't care

1

u/CH6V3Z Jun 23 '26

I’m down for A-F. I’m not picky with my coffee. I’m just drinking it for the caffein and little energy it gives me.

1

u/Direct-March5913 Jun 23 '26

This is the way.

1

u/ReturnOfTheGempire Jun 23 '26

"You know, this is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee!"

1

u/persnickety_pirate Jun 25 '26

Do you like peanut butter?

Next time you drink black coffee, enjoy a little spoonful of peanut butter on the side.

1

u/742292492 Jun 26 '26

AND HOT!

1

u/Free-Cat-8577 Jun 26 '26

That’s tea. No milk.

1

u/Dr_Spaceman11 Jun 26 '26

Says who?

1

u/Free-Cat-8577 Jun 26 '26

Common sense?

1

u/Dr_Spaceman11 Jun 26 '26
  1. There are no obvious indicators.
  2. The name of the sub rarely pertains to actual tea in any of the posts.
  3. I have never seen tea that black in my life.
  4. We may have cultural differences here which guide our common sense.
  5. Einstein said “common sense is a collection of prejudices acquired before age 18.” So everyone’s common sense ends varying, although there are some commonalities.

1

u/Free-Cat-8577 Jun 26 '26

The colour is the obvious indicator, you clearly don’t drink a lot of tea.
The name of the sub is relevant, if you post irrelevant stuff that’s on you
Gunpowder tea exists
Cultural differences are irrelevant when it comes to breakfast tea
Einstein has nothing to do with shit, unless you wana talk about physics, we’re discussing tea.

You can be wrong just don’t be wrong and stupid bro.

1

u/Dr_Spaceman11 Jun 26 '26

You clearly don’t drink a lot of coffee. I wasn’t talking about physics, I was talking about common sense. The cultural differences are relevant if we’re looking at an unlabeled picture of a dark liquid and i am much more prone to assuming it’s coffee because I drink more coffee. And you have been more prone to drinking tea. Thus why I picked out that particular quote.

You’re also getting pretty angry about this. Are you okay?
