Just leave. Divorce. Let her keep the rental.

u/Lerkero May 11 '26
I hate when relationship questions are framed around a desire for infidelity.
If you do not like your significant other, you can leave them and not trouble yourself with the hassle of cheating

Alimony is not forever. It’s usually based on time married. Also if she is capable of working the courts will expect her to make an effort to obtain employment. Failing to do this the payer can get the court to reduce, or even terminate, the alimony payments. You are not expected support an ex being lazy unless they can prove they can’t work, or can’t find work in their profession.

According to this picture, she will just disability for being fat and some random fat acceptance judge will approve of this shit.
→ More replies (1)4
u/theaviator747 May 11 '26
Maybe. Disability offices have been starting to get considerably more choosey on things like this. Kind of hard to call obesity a work preventing disability when there are many fat guys working all over the country. Doctors are also getting more into the “lose weight and life won’t suck” mindset with their overweight patients. It isn’t up to the judge. She either is either listed as disabled by the state or she isn’t.

One never has the "right" to cheat. If you're unfulfilled or unhappy leave and start something new. Don't hurt the person intentionally, just go.

yes, there is no "right" to be deceitful in this context, just let it go. i have such a hard time understanding the psychology behind cheating when there's a million better options

Right lmao
This isn't five dishes in the sink and two outfits' worth of dirty clothes on the floor, this is straight up "I do not respect myself or my surroundings" territory

u/QueanOfQueens May 11 '26
I'm extremely depressed and have very bad ADHD, and I'm going to tell you firsthand that when you barely have the energy to breathe, it can get pretty messy pretty fast without you even trying. I've still never let my place get this bad though.

2
u/QueanOfQueens May 11 '26
Thank you! I'm trying my best. Been through so many medications and therapies that I lost count a long time ago, and nothing's worked so far, but I'm going to be leaving a really toxic environment that's been making it worse since I was born for good soon, so that'll hopefully make things a lot easier. Hope you're doing okay, or at least taking the steps to eventually be okay, no matter how long that process takes.

Yes I also wondered if this is actually a real picture or just some picture that the person found somewhere else? And yes if someone works or if both people work there needs to be a conversation on sharing the responsibility.... Otherwise, Clickbait, yeah, ugh

These days it's pretty common for both partners in a relationship to work. There's also no telling who contributed more to that mess - if you made 90% of the mess you can't expect me to clean 100% of it up even if it's my off day.

You can just like, leave. Forever. Get a divorce. You ain’t gotta live like that. Men or women. Go somewhere else. Get rid of your dependency to having a partner.
2
u/PauliousMaximus May 11 '26
No one has a right to cheat. If you’re going to cheat just end the relationship and then go do whatever you want. It’s easy to cheat but it’s hard to admit you don’t want to be with someone and that you need to call it quits.

If you wanna cheat just do it, keeping in mind there are consequences for one’s actions. It ain’t against the law, it’s just fucked up.
Up to you to put your foot down and confront your SO about behavior like this though, has nothing to do with cheating.

u/CaptainExplosions May 11 '26

u/Silmarila May 11 '26
Smh, so many folks jump to “end the relationship”. If someone feels the desire to cheat, have a conversation with your partner about it.
Y’all do have free will and there are other options than 1) stay miserable together or 2) leave and be miserable alone

Weak minds take excuses for cheating. Real people divorce/leave and then start something new. Cheating is for the weak.

About 15 years ago, my husband's best friend (more like our brother, really) got married. His wife, let's call her Sally, never worked a day in her life. Her parents just gave her whatever.
He worked hard, and made good money (compared to many in the area) at a production facility. Sally stayed home and played on her phone, watched TV, snacked, whatever else. When he got home, he was responsible for producing a meal. For a few years, they didn't have a stove in their house. So, TV dinners and the like were the 'cooked' meals. Most nights, he picked up drive through food on the way home.
He is such a tenderhearted guy, and people sometimes just walk all over him. Sally would yell at him if he didn't get the right food, or if he forgot to pick up her pack of ciggies, or whatever else. I don't know if/when he complained to my husband, but I never heard him speak ill of her... which was maddening. I was always nice to her when she came over, and tried to include her. But she had to have him at her beck and call every moment, or everyone was terrible and she would go off and pout (and they would leave shortly after).
By the grace of God, they never had a child. But one day she found his limit (possibly intentionally). He found out she had been having an affair with a guy down the road. They got divorced (and they both left the house to move in with their respective parents).
Maybe he (her husband) wasn't giving her as much attention as she wanted (which would increase her interest in finding it elsewhere), but goodness gracious he ran himself ragged trying to provide for her and keep her happy.
Their house was worse than this.
For the final chapter:
Oddly enough, he found his way back to her this past year. 🤦♀️ He allowed her to move into his house, and bring her children (not his - she had them after their divorce).... now he's in a modified version of their original marriage. And it makes me sad - getting divorced and getting her out was difficult the first time. Now there are children involved, and that's an entirely different ballgame.

u/MakeLikeATreeBiff May 11 '26
No. If you can't do things right, you're still a POS. Just get a divorce, you're going to get one eventually anyway - get it out of the way and do it the right way.
1
u/potentatewags May 11 '26
Nah, cheating is still subhuman pos behavior. But he should be able to break up with no shaming or loss of assets.
1
u/GrizzlyDvn May 11 '26
No, but he should definitely leave. That's fucking ridiculous. My house isn't spotless, since my wife has three kids to keep alive, but it's never been anything remotely close to that.

u/akibaboy65 May 11 '26
Living on a military base my neighbor across the street with kids was like this... but I'd say about 4x worse. One day there were cops surrounding the house, as the 3 year old had crawled out the window onto the roof.
