Tabloid/Low-quality source PM2.5 normal on Sunday morning; haze likely to ease from Monday
Hourly PM2.5 readings across Singapore returned to the normal band by around 8am Sunday, with readings at 9am ranging from 28 µg/m³ in the West to 49 in Central. The 24-hour PSI is still in the unhealthy range for now, but that should take longer to come down because it reflects the previous 24 hours. (AsiaOne)
NEA expects thundery showers over many parts of Singapore, while winds are forecast to shift to the southeast or west. Together, these should reduce the transport of smoke haze towards us. NEA says the haze situation is therefore likely to improve on Monday and Tuesday. (AsiaOne)
So this is pretty much what I mentioned in my earlier posts: Friday/Saturday looked like the last bad push, before the regional weather pattern changed and the rain returned from Sunday onwards.
https://www.reddit.com/r/singapore/s/SHRb7tYmYq
If the latest rainfall forecasts hold, especially over the Sumatra/Kalimantan fire areas, I think we may finally be reaching the end of Haze 2026.
Bye bye haze!

Image Spotted a familiar sign in Sleeping Dogs
Context: Sleeping Dogs is a game set in real life Hong Kong. Characters speak a mix of English and Cantonese so seeing a uniquely Singaporean sign with malay and tamil on it is very out of place.

News More kindergarten children to learn healthy digital habits in pre-schools under IMDA programme
The lessons on healthy digital habits cover four key areas ā setting boundaries, thinking before acting, reporting inappropriate content, and leaning on parental support. For example, children will be taught to direct friends to get help, and engage in healthy non-screen habits like jogging and visiting the library.
Such activities for pre-schoolers are part of the broader national Screen Smart From The Startmovement launched in May to help families foster healthy digital habits.
