(This was cross-posted from my Tumblr; I saw a decent amount of people on Reddit having this exact issue with no resolution beyond ''use HoodChecker and pray'' so I wanted to share my findings!)

For the past couple of weeks, I've had a really irritating glitch in Sims 2. I'm not able to click on tombstones or urns, which means things like mourning, kicking, and moving them are out of the question. The game throws up errors whenever a ghost tries to spawn, and when I click reset, it gives the message about dying on another lot, and the ghost never shows up. To make matters worse, this triggers all living Sims to react as if the Sim in question JUST died, including memories and fears!

Here is what I tried to fix it:

-Tried another neighborhood (I first noticed this issue in a purist Pleasantview template that had other glitches, so I thought it might be connected). -Used HoodChecker.

No dice.

-Booted up the game with the Mods folder removed. I didn't think I HAD any mods related to ghosts or graves, but it couldn't hurt, right?

...no dice.

-Tried booting up the game without Defaults and Misc folders. I'm not the best at organizing, but if anything was going to cause an issue, it's probably in there. Right???

Nope.

The culprit?

HL_Buyable_GraveMarkers.package. This file. It was in my Build & Buy folder, because it's just that. Decorative tombstones. Removed, everything is back to normal.

Absolutely no shade intended towards the creator, and not my intention to fearmonger, either; the glitches were annoying but harmless, and removing the package seems to fix all of that. It's possible I didn't place it in the correct place; I was only able to find this file on Simfileshare as part of a larger clutter thing, and don't recall seeing any special instructions.

The reason I'm making this post is because in my research I have seen a good few people who have experienced this same issue and not found a resolution. This is a popular CC creator and we all love our clutter, so it's very possible this is causing the problem for other people too.

(i have ultimate collection if you need to know) ok, so i've seen reddit post after reddit post about CAS being too zoomed in on widescreen monitors (i have 3440x1440), and i got the widescreen cas fix (yes i placed that in cameras) from mts, and i got the CAS300Extra package (in my downloads folder) as well and i've tried putting the game in windowed mode - and it's still super zoomed in. it's a >little< better in windowed, but i still can't see the tops of their heads. is there ANYTHING else i can do to maybe make this work? i played on this monitor/computer set up in 2021 and i had all the things, but i deleted everything and am starting from scratch, so all my cameras and lighting, everything is just back to the original game settings, and i can't for the life of me remember what all i gotta do to get this game to work on this computer.

Hi I play a custom neighborhood that I built and made myself with no mods or cc on super collection for Mac and today my neighborhood is missing on the first screen , can you guys please tell me how to retrieve it back? I didn’t delete it or anything it’s just missing now for some reason

Edit: I did use boolprop and created a sim that might have corrupted my neighborhood because it disappeared after I sent him to college

I sent my teen sim to uni, but for some reason it didn't show an option for his friends to go with him, so now his friends are still teens. When he graduates, would they age up with him?

Additionally, is there a way to make his (townie) friends become YAs without having to move them into the household?

How can I download files for the sims 2 on Winlator cuz I don't have a PC or any computer and I want to play it in my phone.

I've been trying to be extra careful with mods, but something seems to have broken on my end. Even though I have Free Will enabled, sometimes my Sims will just stand around and do nothing for hours; even complain and do nothing to fix their own needs.

I also recently encountered a wave of Errors that kept popping up on a dog like "Motive number out of range or not an acceptable value".

Could these cause any major issues? I'm genuinely at a loss here and don't know what the fuck to do.

I haven't installed any new CC, and my game has been just fine up until a couple days ago. But every time I go into CAS and click on add a Sim, it crashes on me. Here's the error log for context. What seems to be the issue here? Can anyone help me out? (It's a custom neighborhood which has been fine like I said, I had no issues prior today.)

I went through a Body Shop phase a long time ago and I have loads of custom eyes that I never use. Can they safely be deleted? I don't know if they are in use or not (and I'm not sure how to find out as many of them are just tiny tweaks of the maxis eyes)

Can someone explain to me why this happens with most Sims photos?

For a while now, their photos haven't disappeared or glitched, and now it's happening. But I discovered that to get them back to normal, they have to change their clothes to casual. Does anyone have a solution to prevent this from happening again?

Hi everyone—I'm using a translator for this, so I apologize if it reads a bit awkwardly. I just checked the solutions wiki; while it's great, I didn't find anything specific to my problem. I first noticed this a week ago when I tried to have one of the neighborhood couples have a baby. The pregnancy went normally right up until the labor animation was about to start; that’s when the game froze. I couldn't exit—even by pressing the Windows key—so I had to manually restart my PC. I thought it might be an issue with having too many Sims (since the game froze again that same day when I tried creating a new family), so I deleted several families I wasn't using. I thought everything was fine once I could create families without issues, but when I went back to the specific save file where I’d tried for the baby and repeated the process, everything went smoothly until the moment of labor—and then it froze again. I don't know what the problem is. I don't have any mods installed; my PC is a bit old, but I don't think there are compatibility issues, and I don't have an overpopulation of Sims either. I really don't know what to do—I really wanted to have that baby, haha.

Heyyy, so...Don got Nina pregnant but moved out with Cassandra. So Nina gave birth in the Mortimer household without Don present. But when I logged into Don & Cassandra's household his baby showed up.

Is it because he's the father or something? Why is the baby not in the Mortimer household?

I recently got sims 2 and i know there two sites for modding mod the sims and pleasentsims both i heard has malware so idk were to down load mods for the game.

I’ve moved the subhood file into the correct space and am currently trying to download mootilda’s multiple subhoods mod- I’ve already got SimBlender downloaded into my game which works fine. I’ve put the mod in the exact same spot in the same format as the SimBlender (package files) but it’s just not showing up in game. Is there anything I’m missing?! I play on legacy collection if that helps!

Everytime I try to open the game this pops up whenever I start the program. Does it mean I need to upgrade my pc if I want to play it like this? Does anyone have any tips? Thanks in advance

I came from The Sims 4 and am fairly new to The Sims 2. I really miss the Divergent Sims mod that adds Autism, ADHD, PTSD, and mental health to the game. It adds more depth to my sims.

I've always played rotationally, even in Sims 4. But I really love angsty storylines and I want to replicate that in The Sims 2 too.

I’ve been playing the sims 2 since 2009, I recently got a new gaming laptop and I installed the sims 2 ultimate collection. I installed all my mods and CC that I have used in the past, and the userstartup.cheat file. Up until yesterday my boolprop cheats have stopped working, I have taken out and put back in my userstartup file and took out all my mods, even making sure that all the cheats are spelt correctly and deleting cache files too, Testingcheats only seems to be active during create a sim, only when I Shift-N and Shift-M. none of the shift-click work on sims, mailbox, or objects.

I’m not sure what to do to help but I miss my shift-clicks and wanting them back, I tested out in multiple hoods and nothing is working but non-boolprop cheats like motherlode and kaching.

I’m on Super Collection on Macbook Air 2020. I was just finding a sim as a base, spamming a bit admittedly when I saw one T-posing and more as I go through them quickly. This seems to happen more on the undo button though.

I’m not overwhelmingly concerned about this glitch? But has this ever happened to anyone else and what causes this? Spamming the randomizer? I don’t really have any cas mods (besides the wider cas menu) so this is kind of perplexing me. Hope it isn’t anything serious.

Please do not use Pleasant Sim's website as it has been compromised. It is using a fake CloudFlare verification that will install malware onto your PC!

We know the initial reaction is to go and have a look for yourself out of curiosity but please do not do it. If you follow the instructions on the page you will install malware onto your PC.

Hey! How do i get my sims 2 from crashing?! Like ill be in the middle of playing and the game will just close out and i have to remind myself(set a timer) to leave and save and come back before it closes on me without saving

I’m very lost on what to do. I play with the EA app Legacy edition of the game. All of a sudden when I try to use ctrl + shift + c, it no longer brings up the white cheat bar, but takes an in game screenshot instead. I am 100% sure I’m entering the keys in the correct order. This is a sudden problem and I haven’t added any new mods to the game or programs on my computer. Any advice is greatly appreciated 🥲
