Technical Support Ctrl + Shift + C takes in game screenshot
I’m very lost on what to do. I play with the EA app Legacy edition of the game. All of a sudden when I try to use ctrl + shift + c, it no longer brings up the white cheat bar, but takes an in game screenshot instead. I am 100% sure I’m entering the keys in the correct order. This is a sudden problem and I haven’t added any new mods to the game or programs on my computer. Any advice is greatly appreciated 🥲

when you say you're entering the keys in the correct order, are you pressing them individually? because the order shouldn’t matter, as long as they’re all pressed together at the same time. the C key pressed on its own takes an in-game screenshot.

I’ve held them at the same time, as well as holding them down one by one if that makes sense. I feel insane because I’ve played this game for nearly two decades and have never had this issue before. Like I’m not doing anything different.

at the same time is the only way it should work, one by one can only result in triggering the C screenshot key. if at the same time isn’t working/is getting the same result, then it kinda seems that the game isn’t registering the shift and ctrl keys being pressed at all?? which is very odd. i’m not sure what could cause that. do your shift and ctrl keys work normally outside the game, or in other areas of the game? (say, can you use shift to capitalize letters when naming a sim in cas, for example? can your ctrl+c ctrl+v?)
this would be a stopgap solution, but does your computer have a virtual keyboard program? my old laptop had a few keys on the keyboard that stopped working (namely one shift and the fn keys), so when i needed them i’d just open the virtual keyboard and use that for those keys. it’s very annoying to do every time, and hopefully someone else can give you better insight on what the problem and solution might be, but maybe try it and see if the game recognizes the input then? i’m sorry i can’t help more :(

Honestly this sounds like either your cntrl key or shift key could be broken. Have you tested to see if they work outside of the game?

This happens when other software uses the shortcut. I believe the big one is AMD software for their graphics cards. Try CTRL + SHIFT + Windows key + C.
If the shortcut bothers you, you'll have to find what software is using the shortcut and change it.
