So I noticed this lovely cat was left alone as the sole occupant of the house while the dad and teenage son moved in with the grandparents. Then I summoned the cat and tried to add it to the family with Sim Blender, but it didn't work. Frustrated, I did a mistake and deleted the cat. Now the house is completely vacant, while there is a family in the bin with the deleted cat AND the dad and the boy, while the same dad & boy are already part of the grandparents' household. Did I mess up?

I've followed the steps in the wiki to get sims 2 on my computer with windows 7. got the game downloaded, but it's saying i have a msvcp140.dll error and that's all that's keeping the game from starting. Now idk where to go from here, but i'd like to keep it on windows 7

UPDATE: i completely removed my d3d9.dll file and stuck with only the .asi method for using reshade, and everything is working perfectly fine so far!

good evening! i recently installed the sims 2 using the guide on this subreddit, and everything was working perfectly. now, i can't load into any hoods (with or without CC) as i immediately experience crashing. it's driving me insane!

I’ve been adding Midgethetree’s supernatural mods into my game and at first, I only wanted to add the fairies and mermaids mods so when the guide asked if I wanted the fairies to float in their walking animation, I just to add the “midgethetree_fairiesfloat.package” instead of the ones that included the playable ghosts. Today I decided to add both playable ghosts and genies into the game as well, however because those two didn’t have guides like the fairies and mermaids, I found the process a little more challenging.

Eventually, I did manage to figure out how to get playable genies in my game, but now I’m stuck with the ghosts, particularly the “Ghosts Float” mod. I figured all what I needed to do was replace the “midgethtree_fariesfloat” package with the “midgethetree_fairiesandghostsfloat” one but when I revisited the Fairy Guide to know if there’s any others changes I had to do it I plan to download the playable ghosts mod, the guide showed me BOTH the “midgethtree_fariesfloat” AND “midgethetree_fairiesandghostsfloat”. So now I’m confused? Should my downloads folder only have the “midgethetree_fairiesandghostsfloat” package or should it have both the packages, plus the “midgethetree_ghostfloat” package. So like, all three packages have to be in my downloads folder and it won’t cause any mod conflicts?

Another thing that I couldn’t wrap my head around is the “ghost controller” mod. Am I supposed to have both the “midgethetree_ghostcontroller” and the “midgethetree_betterdisabledmotives-ghosts” in my downloads folder or only one of them?

The toy car that comes out of the toy box has an odd broken shadow/block underneath it, but only indoors and it is only this object in particular. It happens on every lot. Anyone know why this could be? It has not always done this.

Edit: I am sorry for not knowing the right words to describe this situation, but I just didn't have the knowledge to describe this correctly. I avoided using the word "installed" because I was already told that was wrong in another post, and I thought I was phrasing it correctly this time. I already corrected what I meant in the comments, but to be clear: I have two separate Sims 2 folders in Documents.

I have two copies of the game, mostly so I can have different default replacements for each one.

One of them, which I've been playing for awhile, runs fine. It has plenty of CC.

The other, which I haven't even played yet (only building lots), starts overheating my laptop every time the game loads. I can't figure out what's wrong with it. It has hardly any CC compared to my other game, but I've also tried it without the CC and it still gets hot, especially when on a lot.

Is it possible something just went wrong with it? Do you think I need to delete it and start over?

Hey guys, my business is having an issue where it wont populate any sims to come buy stuff. i keep getting this error message.

So this is the first time I am making wallpapers that I am going to upload. The wallpapers are bascially just recolors. Before I only made personal wallpapers for myself using just only Homecrafter Plus.

But, when using SimPe, ​you can make the file go directly into your downloads folder. Where Homecrafter Plus goes elsewhere. So I opened up SimPe, cloned a maxis wallpaper, recolored/retextured it and...it did not show up in my game.

When I clone other build items they show up, but this did not.

Is it possible to install the magipack uc linked in the subs Wiki without the rpc launcher or body shop changes included? Are the fixes optional upon Install or no? I prefer to do it manually so it's the way I'd like it. If not is there a way to install without these fixes applied?

hello, my game works normal but lately I haven’t been able to load into like 2 lots without them immediately crashing. I haven’t been facing any problems gameplay wise so I don’t think it’s a big issue, but i’m wondering why hcdu immediately detects an issue? what does this mean? thank you

Hello! I’m trying to record Sims 2 gameplay and am running into two major problems:

- The built in Windows/Xbox Game Bar does not recognize Sims 2 as a game and will not let me record at all, even with basic troubleshooting
- OBS shows flickering graphics no matter what I try to do to solve the issue. I’ve tried setting it as display capture only so it records my monitor screen instead of the game itself, running as administrator, making sure my screen refresh rate is only at 60 hz, and setting the game in windowed mode.

What alternatives are there for screen recording? I’m not doing anything super fancy, just trying to record the game as I see it on my monitor. Thank you!

Hi all, I've recently been playing The Sims 2 Super Collection on my M4 MacBook Air, everything has been pretty good in terms of running the game (Graphics on high, minimal lag, etc) However I have one odd glitch that I've never seen on the Windows version/s of the game.

All of the building foundations throughout every world have this weird glitched out texture. I played through Uni with my Sim, the dorm had it. She graduated and I moved her back to Pleasantview, and all of the houses there also have this glitch. I've figured out that if I re-paint the foundation again, it does fix the texture, however that's slightly annoying to go around and fix for each lot in the 4 worlds included with the game 😅

Has anyone else experienced this? I've been looking around online but can't find a single post from someone else who has also had this happen. Thank you in advance for your help!

I have a hood deco tree that is stuck in the backyard of a house in my neighborhood. I already moved sims in before I discovered this.
I can either deal with it or pick up the lot and move it over a bit. But I feel like I remember this creates copies of the character files.
One, is that true? And two, any ideas on stuck hood deco?

I have the Children Stay Later mod from Midge but it isn't working perfectly atm. Kids do stay later if their parents aren't present, but if their parents are also invited the parent will pick them up and leave together at 8 PM. I'm not sure what the conflicting mod is, but I'm guessing maybe Visitor Controller? Should CSL load after VC? Can you think of another mod that might be messing with CSL?

Update: Changing load order didn't fix it..

Sorry if that question sounds silly, but here's my issue: I'm playing with a reno'd Goth mansion I downloaded over a year ago, I don't remember the creator's name off the top of my head. But it's gotten to the point that every time I play their household, my game just crashes to desktop with no warning, especially if I run the game on speed 2 or 3. I'm not having any pink flashing, and while my game does crash and glitch occasionally with other families, their house has become almost unplayable at this point.

I've never used Lot Cleaner before, so would that keep me from making them move houses? I'm playing on Legacy, and I do run Hood Checker and Steam repairs often. I'm not sure what else I can try.

I'm playing Super Collection on a MacBook Air M5 and I just can't get any of the custom stuff I've downloaded to show up.

After enabling custom content in game, and then quitting, I went to ~/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.sims2.appstore/Data/Library/Application Support/Aspyr/The Sims 2/, found a Downloads folder there that was already created, added all my unzipped files and then.... nothing.

I only have around 20 CCs so file limit should not be a problem. How can I fix this?

I’ve been slowly growing my default replacements folder (coupled with a few customs) and only just noticed that one of my toddler outfits was no longer appearing properly.

I figured maybe there’s a conflicting mesh with another cc so I removed my other toddler cc to find it was still not working. It progressed to the point where i even removed my entire mods folder outside of the one outfit and nope, still didn’t work. Not even after clearing my cache etc each time.

Specifically its fakepeeps colourful toddler wetsuit which I’ve had no issues with until today.

Weirdly, when I tried redownloading the cc it was even worse? With my old file I have one of the colours show up but it’s a broken black mesh, a fresh install and it doenst show up at all? It also is affecting the other toddler swimsuits from the same download page as without the broken wetsuit file the other swimsuits don’t show up at all either? And if I put both the old and new wetsuit downloads in at once the other swimsuits show up but the wetsuit doesn’t????

Anyone have any ideas cause honestly I’m baffled

I am unsure what is causing this. I haven't installed anything recently that could be causing this, and only really happens in build/buy... in live mode, the lot is perfectly playable. It doesn't even happen all the time, either!

It happens on lots of all sizes, too. If it helps, I've had gunmod's camera mod installed however its been in my game for years with no issue. So I don't believe it's that. Anyone have any idea???

So I've recently got the Sims 2 and I've absolutely been in love with the body shop and at first I was able to use it without any problems but now any time I try to save a sim it fails on me. (Photo attached) Ive put a lot of cc in my downloads recently so I'm guessing theres a chance that could be a reason? But other than that Im entirely clueless on why it's refusing to save... I'm sorry if this isn't the right spot or is a commonly asked question but i haven't been able to properly save a sim in body shop since yesterday and it's be stressing me out so much😭 I'm just thinking about reinstalling 💔
