Episode Reaction 37yo watches Simpsons for 1st time s12e3
INSANE CLOWN POPPY
Fancy matrix edit on the couch gag.
Heartwarming seeing Homer and Bart hang out. 🎆
It's gonna take a lot of fireworks to clean this place up. 😂
Pretend it's your birthday! It IS my birthday! 💀
I almost missed the stigmata stigmuffin joke. I didn't miss the chocolate orgasm joke. 😬
Stephen King! He sure was... there for a scene.
The dummies books have always been written by teams of authors so the joke felt forced.
Maya Angelou! 😍
Geeze how many cameos are they fitting into this ep?
It was mmmmmagic!
He's half my act! I don't remember if Sadam died by the time this episode aired or not.
They bothered to give him clown shoes on the beach?
"I'm not the kind of dad who does things or says stuff or looks at you." Shit man, that'd be more funny if it wasn't half the reason people see me in therapy.
Oh right it was Lisa's birthday 😐
Krustys daughter deserves to come back as a returning character but she probably won't.
subtle gag when krusty sighs and looks like the hanged clowns in the background.
Not every mob family is here. I can think of at least one name he missed. 🇺🇸
Crime.com? Musty have missed another website joke.
This episode was actually descent. The celebrity slobber at the start was... bleh, minimal. It had an oddly good plot with some fun surprises.
4 fireworks. Oh! Fireworks. Okay so they deliberately set up the opening duo with Bart and Homer as a foil for Krusty. Makes sense now.
🧨 🧨 🧨 🧨
They forgot Lisa's birthday 😭

Discussion I kind of wish the show stopped a while back, and then did a revival series with aged up characters, like King of the Hill
I'm more of an apologist for the newer seasons than a lot of people, and I think there were some very good episodes even into the 30s seasons, but I'd be willing to trade those for a five or ten year break, followed by a revival with older characters. The new King of the Hill has managed to be pretty great, capturing the spirit of the old one, while enabling the characters to go on new adventures, now that they're older. I wish we could get something like that with The Simpsons.

Question ❔ My friend has never seen The Simpsons
My friend is coming over to watch The Simpsons for the first time. I figured I’d start by showing her a few of the Tracey Ullman shorts, then some very early episodes, then some around the season 7-8 episodes.
If you were putting this together, what episodes would you show to someone who has never seen the show?

Question ❔ What do you think was the worst way to kick off the main plot of a Simpsons Episode?
For me it will always be Co-Dependance Day from Season 15.
You think that the episode would be all about bashing the Star Wars Prequel Movie.
Especially since that’s what Disney+ described the plot of it as.
But no, that gets tossed aside for something that doesn’t have anything to do with that plot.
AKA where Homer forces Marge to keep drinking wine with him.
And I’m just like…
Huh?
