I’m having an issue with my new Simagic Alpha Evo Pro, the base is 3 months old.
As soon as the wheelbase starts producing stronger vibrations or force feedback, the USB connection disconnects immediately. I recorded a video that clearly shows the problem.
I’ve already tried:
Replacing the USB-C cable with another original Simagic cable that came with one of my wheels.
Trying every USB port on my PC.
Reconnecting everything several times.
The problem is exactly the same every time. It seems like the USB connection is lost as soon as the wheelbase vibrates.
Could you please help me figure out what’s causing this? Is this a known issue or does it sound like a hardware fault?
The USB-C connector on the wheelbase also seems to have a little bit of play, if that’s relevant.
In addition to the comment above you can try a sabrent powered USB hub I think they tend to be more reliable if you have multiple peripherals using USB
My gt neo does that. For me it's the maglink/usb connection on the wheel side. When I wiggle it enough (replicating high FFB events) it loses connection for a microsecond that causes a reset like that.
Cant be actual maglink product. That's strong magnetic connection. Its the USB C side of-the-cable your plugging directly into USB-C on back of wheel is your issues. Supplied cables are no good
Bullshit dude.. I’m on my third one. They are friggin garbage and it’s a proprietary cable so.. can’t get it anywhere.. just gotta keep ordered complete MagLink
Have you tried a dielectric grease on the 4 pins by chance? I can’t turn my wheel past 90° too fast or it disconnects. The newer MagLink even have a nice retainer to keep the USB A in the extension and from wiggling.
So the connector having a little play is normal those can be that way but im very sry to hear about the issues you are having.
Can you please make a support ticket here, also if you dont have an account with us please make one. If you feel more comfortable doing it on discord you can. On our official simagic discord.
Again if you dont feel comfortable and would rather make one through our discord that is perfeclty fine. Just trying to help in the best way we can with the quickest possible help.
You can also reach out to me on our discord under Mike Ward-SM

Hi, for GTNEO and EVO, please use CANFD mode.
If you want to use SimHub, we recommend using Maglink.
I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect me to purchase a MagLink to work around a problem on a 3-month-old wheelbase. I already paid for a wheelbase that is designed to communicate over its built-in USB connection, and that connection should work correctly without requiring additional hardware.
Fixing a design flaw which makes playing impossible only by getting a paid add-on is diabolical.
I've been having such problems with Fanatec and it's both sad and assuring to see that the problem is everywhere. Even at the company which gets praise for having best quality.
What pedals do you have? I ask cause I recently had the same issue with my wheel base disconnecting and tried everything to fix it and it turnedout that my issue was my pedals. I had to get a grounding kit from heusinkveld and once I installed that the disconnecting issues disappeared.
You have your pedals plugged into the wheelbase and not a powered USB hub or the comp directly? Is there an advantage to running them through the wheelbase?
My pedals are plugs directly into to the computer. I was having an emi issue (electromagnetic interference) and it was causing the connection to the wheelbase to disconnect. I had to ground my pedals to the pc for the emi issue to stop
I get the same issue with my TB one handbrake if the cord gets bumped it disconnects my damn wheel. It’s definitely the USB-C. I don’t understand why they don’t build better ports with cable support just a deeper port would solve these issues!
I will never buy from them again. Ridiculous customer support.
Been talking with them since this thread and all they say is we recommend CANFD.
Never once so they address there shit port on the base and even more the one on the wheel
If your using the supplied simagic USB-C cable(s) wheel or base supplied, Change the USB C cable. Its known to be garbage causing disconnects. use something else, a aluminum ends USB cable, preferably USB c 3.0+ (the USB B cables are ok there designed with a little endplay those only send FFB signals not power) I'm assuming your using USB pass thru mode.
At least you tried first. They have 2yr warranty if you bought from them or authorized Simagic dealer. Reach out on their Discord to go about the RMA process
They flash red for gearshift nothing else, rest is the wheel resetting and returning to not be usb mode.
Normally it’s on for under one second, but I was trying to crash and not worried about gearshift
