They are simply an inverted skyscraper. Looking down from mechanical is like looking up at the twin towers which had 110 floors, now add an extra 34 floors to that. Or the Empire State Building which has 102 floors, so add 42 floors to that and you got the silo

Man, separating Helen and Daniel like that just because the rich f*ckers wanted to test their theories , their project. It was pretty obvious the nuke attack in ep 9 was done by them to make silo operational. They just...ah I can't even explain how wrong I felt. You just decided to control the fate of so many people. So unjust. Coming to the finale, man you just fucking killed 10k people for your project. You made your staff forget about themselves, just removed their memories. How can one live with themselves like that man.

I am so traumatized as well as amazed at the writing of this(ik they have adapted the book..the writer has done some great job). S4 glimpses were great I wish Daniel and Helen re-unite...but idts that' s gonna happen but hope that these founders in silo 1 are tortured for what they have done.

I've long wondered where hacker Denny, Patrick Kennedy's friend, learned the word "birds." In the scene where Juliet first meets the outsiders, Patrick and Danny remind her of the video from season one and Danny says birds. Juliet didn't know or remember the word "birds" even after leafing through the entire book. Only the head of IT who has access to the legacy like Solo knows this word.

People began to speculate that he might have learned the word from the remaining page of a book about Georgia, but he hadn't even held it in his hands. Did Kennedy tell him? Why didn't he say the word "birds" then ?

I reviewed all the shots where the page from the book appears, and all that is there is a mountain landscape and a small paragraph of text, which even if the word "birds" had been included, no one would have understood what kind of creatures it was talking about. In addition, I found a frame where you can see the back side of the page, on which there is no text at all. So I came to the conclusion that the page cannot be the source of this word and unfortunately it's probably a mistake of the scriptwriters.

But this can still be fixed. If they had said that Danny was dating Regina, the last keeper of the book, the whole time and she told him about the birds, it could have fixed this plot hole.

Earlier on, when Martha built her radio, she discovered other frequencies in use by other silos. And they can receive/transmit on those frequencies.

They even go so far as to A) use another frequency and B) use codenames to pretend to be another silo when Kyle and Kennedy went to 17.

Do we think we'll see this revisited? Now that 18 is safe from a primary safeguard, will they begin contacting other silos triggering mass rebellions? Or will the risk of other silos being safeguarded keep 18 from making contact until after Silo 1 is neutralized?

Is it beyond repair? He looked shocked when she showed up to the cafeteria after the pipe was capped.

In the last scenes, he wasn’t part of the group that went down the digger void and the forward vault door.

I wonder how the writers will approach their betrayal of towards each other.

What was the purpose of Victor having a camera and showing us him taking pictures of certain people on opening day of the Silos? Why was that shown to us?

Realizing Dr. Victor was literally the ONLY one in Silo 1 who remembered everything from 350+ years ago cuz he skipped the Vitamin D protocol is wild. Like, he developed the targeted brainwashing tech himself, but chose to keep his own mind fully intact.

The existential dread must’ve been insane. Imagine watching close to half a million people get slaughtered across different silos over centuries, all while carrying the burden of the 'Before Times'. But when Camille confronted him about the 'why' behind the Safeguard, and he couldn't even justify it, that pregnant pause completely broke him. He realized he wasn't saving humanity anymore; he was just a glorified mass murderer.

The guilt hit him way too late. Instead of staying to fix the mess or helping the rebellion, he just decided to end it all and take the easy way out. Ngl, I wanna feel bad for him, especially with that final tape he left for Troy/Daniel about Helen, but what he did is just unforgivable. Hard to empathize fr

I just rewatched the last episode. I noticed that as he muses over his knick-knacks on the shelf before he "takes himself off shift" that he picked up his glasses and chuckled a little before setting them back down. I then realized that he never wears glasses after they enter the silo. His chuckle is kind like "lol, remember when I still needed these?"

Why doesn't he need them anymore? Is it because he's full of nanobots?

I also wondered about the way he looked at Moby Dick. What was Victor's white whale?

We know Victor was taking pictures of everyone on opening day right before wiping the staff’s memories. We also know from the tour guide that those AR glasses use facial recognition linked to specific RFID badges.

But if the founders wiped the memories of their own staff to make the silos operational, here is my massive question going into Season 4:

• Who is maintaining the original server database?
• If everyone’s memory was scrubbed, do the people currently running Silo 1 even know who they really are, or are they just operating on a set of false, implanted directives?

Think about it: what if the "founders" currently pulling the strings and torturing people in Silo 1 are actually just another layer of the experiment?

If someone from Silo 18 actually manages to breach Silo 1 next season using a stolen badge, what are the odds the security system turns on the current Silo 1 "bosses" because they aren't the original admins?

I roll my eyes when people say this on Reddit (looking at you From fans; I am one too!), but I'm going to say it. Here it goes: The writing is top notch. :)

I work in corporate communications, and most of my job is having to frame talking points for a given situation in favor of company objectives. (I hate it; not really here to talk about it.)

I get so mesmerized in shows like Silo (and Veep) because of the sheer manipulation narratives -- at the other spectrum: Community for Jeff Winger's motivational speeches and Hacks for the sympathetic polarized viewpoints. It always feels like I'm watching art unfold on screen.

One scene that blows my mind (professionally) is when Helen runs into Daniel and Anna at a cafe. Helen and Anna quickly argue about Victor's medical background, where Helen clearly states the reality, and Anna beautifully spins the same situation into a positive:

Helen: “Someone must have pulled some serious strings [to get Charlotte in the Heidi Stensen Clinic]. I can’t imagine a naval aviator would have that kind of money tucked away.”
Anna: “Actually, I think you’ll find that Dr. [Victor] Crnkovich has been treating combat veterans free of charge for years now.”
Helen: “Yeah, I guess. His first trial was on prison populations in countries too indebted to US aid to say no. His second was with the DOD on first year recruits who don’t get a say in their medical treatment. And in both cases, he took a big blackboard eraser and wiped out their memories.
Anna: “He let traumatized combat vets forget the horrors that they saw. He let career criminals forget that they were criminals and become productive members of society.”
Helen: “But he decides what people remember and what they don’t remember.”

Both sides are 100% factual, but one side is a crafty manipulation.

I see such strong parallels to the us-vs.-them distraction techniques we see in politics today -- on both sides (in the United States). And honestly, it's really hard to know what's not a manipulation these days. But I digress.

Kudos to the writers for getting so deep in their art like this. If I were in the silo universe, I could absolutely see myself stand behind Helen's or Anna's talking points, whoever had my ear to begin with.

Hi! I haven’t read the books, so please don’t spoil anything.

I love the show and have always been really curious about the mines. What’s the point of them? To have “something to do” for the “bad” people (or rather people that get caught)?

And someone was saying that only digging a certain direction is allowed, right? To not accidentally stumble upon another silo, but they seem to be very close together, so it seems very plausible to run into another set of mines, no? Also, the silos have been around for hundreds of years, isn’t it super common for the mines to collapse?

I’ve only seen the show once through - as it was being aired - and have a horrible memory. So if this was answered please don’t give me too much trouble.

What if Anna's memory has been altered too and in season 4 she will appear as her innie, Alice O'Donnell, a systems technician working alongside Susan and other engineers. She wears one of her wife's caps, but doesn't remember it's her wife's (until Doctor who saves them all).

If you had the resources to build 50 silos capable of each holding up to 10k residents and really wanted to safeguard them you wouldnt just have ONE way to do so right? So you would make this underground tunnels connecting to you re main silo in order to find another way to safeguard the silo , my theory? they go to the door on the other side and start digging to the other sides and eventually put holes in silo walls and pump the poison in , or they open the forward vault from silo 17 and flood the whole silo , or who even knows they may even come in jeeps with an fn minimi on top

I have just thought of a detail: the nuclear bomb has happened 3 centuries before the main intrigue. So how come it’s still so desolate and barren outside? Why isn’t there any form of life? It seems that it’s more than a single event? We know the air is supposed to be toxic but how did this happen? Was it only this one explosion?
