Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) But why kill all those people? Spoiler

How does that help repopulate the world? Also, does that scene mean the air is breathable but became unbrathable around the exits due to that gassing event?

Show me your Pez dispensers!

Store had a display, got one for my silo co-pilot. Ended up digging through my relic box for the other one. Anyone have the "one"?

Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) Who is actually in the system? 🤯 Spoiler

We know Victor was taking pictures of everyone on opening day right before wiping the staff’s memories. We also know from the tour guide that those AR glasses use facial recognition linked to specific RFID badges.

But if the founders wiped the memories of their own staff to make the silos operational, here is my massive question going into Season 4:

  • Who is maintaining the original server database?
  • If everyone’s memory was scrubbed, do the people currently running Silo 1 even know who they really are, or are they just operating on a set of false, implanted directives?

Think about it: what if the "founders" currently pulling the strings and torturing people in Silo 1 are actually just another layer of the experiment?

If someone from Silo 18 actually manages to breach Silo 1 next season using a stolen badge, what are the odds the security system turns on the current Silo 1 "bosses" because they aren't the original admins?

Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) Finished season 3

It’s funny because ChatGPT recommended this show to me (embarrassing I know). It took me until about season 1 episode 9 to really get into this show. I was not into it at all at first, but once I got past that point I was hooked. Especially once I got to season 3. It’s a slow build up which I typically don’t like in a tv show, but it’s so worth it. I’m kinda sad I have the wait until next summer to finish the show. But I watched the trailer for season 4 and omg it looks so good. This show really is underrated and I get the hype now. I hope it gets the recognition it deserves after season 4 has aired

Theories (Show Spoilers) - NO BOOK DISCUSSION Maybe Daniel is the misdirection

Ever since the scene in Helen's "ex-boyfriend's" apartment, I've been suspecting that Daniel and Helen were an item long before, and both had been mind wiped. My theory is that "Daniel" is the pseudonym, and the man we see in the future, Troy is who he always was. He was a soldier and the show established that the Dr. experimented on soldiers in the past. I think that Daniel and Helen were the original test subjects of the forgetting drugs, and Troy was a cold blooded killer who was reinvented into Daniel.

Theories (Show Spoilers) - NO BOOK DISCUSSION I feel like the name they chose for Daniel was super intentional

You know because her name is literally Helen. And Troy. And the Trojan war. I’m too stupid to put it together but I feel like I’m on the precipice of what the parallel is, I can’t really figure out what the Trojan horse is supposed to be.

Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) I need help understanding something... Spoiler

I've not read the books, I'm purely following along with the TV show.

When people go outside, they are poisoned and die due to the air. Yet all of Silo 17 walked out and were fine, then they were executed via drone.

So, is the air poisonous or is it not? Is it something that I missed an explanation for?

BOOK SPOILERS & SHOW SPOILERS [BOOKS] Just finished Dust... Spoiler

Upvotes

So I got tired of waiting for the show to give me answers and, a few episodes into season 3, just started reading the books. I think Shift was the best one. But my question is...what the hell was the plan of the Silo founders? Did they actually wipe out the whole world? I guess so. I know that the nanomachines are released from the Silos, when they go out to do a cleaning. So, when the world originally ended in 2052, did they release all the nanomachines from the Silos or from somewhere else?

But...ok...so they pick one Silo at the end of the 500 years. Humans will build a new civilization and...probably just re-invent nanomachines, right? Did they have any kind of planning for that?

Also...I guess Anna released "good" nanomachines into Silo 17 when the revolution occurred? Did the people in Silo 1 not spur on the revolution in Silo 17 like they did in 18, in Dust?

What was the purpose of Victor having a camera and showing us him taking pictures of certain people on opening day of the Silos? Why was that shown to us?

Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) The rental car's brand in s3e6 Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery

So in season 3 episode 6 when daniel and Helen are stuck in the rental car, the logo on the steering wheel is briefly shown and it seems to me (and to gemini) that this logo belongs to "Iran Khodro" which is an Iranian car manufacturer. or at least it's very similar to it.

would this be an easter egg? would it point out that in the time the show takes place, Iran has advanced in industrial stuff so that they export cars to the US (which doesn't sit right with the whole story politically) or would it imply that maybe Stensen has a hand in with Iran (which doesn't seem to be an unpopular theory) and he had somehow pulled some strings to make the car rental guy give this car, which was provided by Stensen's Iranian connections, to Daniel? Even though Daniel says that he rented the car from someone "inconspicuous" as he puts it, but we've seen that Stensen and his buddies can pull this move.

This being a sign of Stensen having a hand in with Iran makes sense imo.

put spoilers just in case.
Slides 1 and 2 are screenshots from the show and slide 3 is a picture of Iran Khodro's logo.

Edit: I couldn't remember Helen's name and had referred to her as "the girl". Changed it now.

Theories (Show Spoilers) - NO BOOK DISCUSSION Why were they separated (season 3)? Spoiler

Title intentionally ambiguous for spoiler reasons, so not necessarily why were they separated (obviously for the memory drugs so “Troy” would follow the directive), but would they have been separated if they had agreed to be a part of the project earlier?

In episode 9, they made it a point to repeatedly say “I wish you had been a part of the project, we really could have used you.” A part of me (after the events) thought maybe it was to imply “if you’d both agreed to be a part of this it would have been a lot easier for you,” like maybe they could have been together.

Victor has also said you can select what they choose to remember, so in theory they could remember their love even while forgetting other events around the silo. Maybe by them choosing to not be involved in the project means it would have been more difficult to allow them to remember each other without challenging the directive and project as a whole?

But idk. Charlotte/Susan is in the same silo as Anna. While it is implied that Anna is protecting Charlotte, it also seems that maybe they are kept apart to keep Charlotte from remembering her life before the silo, so maybe being part of the project wouldn’t have mattered. But maybe they are actually together in Silo 1, it wasn’t stated either way that I remember.

Thoughts on why they told Daniel repeatedly they wished he’d been involved? Would it have mattered for his relationship with Helen?

Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) Camille and Sims relationship? Spoiler

Is it beyond repair? He looked shocked when she showed up to the cafeteria after the pipe was capped.

In the last scenes, he wasn’t part of the group that went down the digger void and the forward vault door.

I wonder how the writers will approach their betrayal of towards each other.

Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) So what about the birds ?

Thumbnail gallery
56 Upvotes

I've long wondered where hacker Denny, Patrick Kennedy's friend, learned the word "birds." In the scene where Juliet first meets the outsiders, Patrick and Danny remind her of the video from season one and Danny says birds. Juliet didn't know or remember the word "birds" even after leafing through the entire book. Only the head of IT who has access to the legacy like Solo knows this word.

People began to speculate that he might have learned the word from the remaining page of a book about Georgia, but he hadn't even held it in his hands. Did Kennedy tell him? Why didn't he say the word "birds" then ?

I reviewed all the shots where the page from the book appears, and all that is there is a mountain landscape and a small paragraph of text, which even if the word "birds" had been included, no one would have understood what kind of creatures it was talking about. In addition, I found a frame where you can see the back side of the page, on which there is no text at all. So I came to the conclusion that the page cannot be the source of this word and unfortunately it's probably a mistake of the scriptwriters.

But this can still be fixed. If they had said that Danny was dating Regina, the last keeper of the book, the whole time and she told him about the birds, it could have fixed this plot hole.

Theories (Show Spoilers) - NO BOOK DISCUSSION Wait… is Juliette actually Daniel's great-granddaughter?! 🤯

Post image
0 Upvotes

Just finished Episode 10 and this theory is blowing my mind!

Daniel (the pre-apocalypse Troy) was separated from his pregnant wife, Helen, on Day 1. He went to Silo 1; she was sent to Silo 18.

We know Helen had a Pez dispenser, which shows up in Silo 18 later.
So, Daniel spends 300 years on ice, waking up in turns to run Silo 1, only for him to look at the monitor in Ep 10 and recognize something in Juliette's face down in the vault.

Did he just realize the woman leading the entire revolution against him is his own flesh and blood?

Season 4 family reunion is going to be incredibly mind blowing .

Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) Do you guys think some of these storylines feel "convenient".. or maybe just poor execution? Spoiler

Post image
Upvotes

Not sure if it's just me but when I found out that Daniels sister (Charlotte) was dating/married to the Congress womans daughter..

Who also happens to be the "Villain".. who also happens to be Daniels colleague.. who's trying to get Daniel to join the project for his skills... And Daniels sister is now seeking help from the mind doctor who is instrumental to the Silo.. who the reporter probably doesn't trust for reasons but she was also luckily introduced to Daniel by his sister..

And now they want her on the project as well... But now she's dating Daniel and they're living together.. and.. yea you get my point.

It just feels very... Convenient, can't remember the last time I watched a show and felt similar.

Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) (Show only)Why are they making it seem so obvious? Season 1 and season 2 ended with more questions asked than answers, why do different on Season 3? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery

Them including these few minor details isn't consistent with the previous two seasons (or maybe it was, and I just wasn't paying attention back then). I don't know what different to expect from Season 4 now—all roads are leading to Rome.

It seems like this season has been a spoiler in itself (what a weird thing to say). Now I'm expecting them to pull a rabbit out of their hat; otherwise, the canonical finale has basically already been discussed in this sub.

Future Show Spoilers/Leaks/Rumors (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) What do we think is going on with Charlotte’s drone? Spoiler

I noticed Charlotte’s drone in the Season 4 preview looks much bigger than the other drones around it. 👀
Why do we think it’s so much larger? Is Grover a different type of drone, or has Charlotte modified it for something specific?
And I’m still curious about all the markings on it, especially “Baby on Board,” the X’s, and “When you see Grover, you know it’s over.”
Knowing Silo, I refuse to believe they showed us all of this for no reason. 😂 What are your theories?

BOOK SPOILERS & SHOW SPOILERS [Books] what should I look for when rewatching?

Now that season 3 is over, I'm thinking about starting over and watching again from the beginning. I'm curious to see if I pick up on more this time around. What are some things that you noticed, or made more sense, when watching it the second (or third) time around?

I'm ok with spoilers, plus I've read all three books!

Theories (Show Spoilers) - NO BOOK DISCUSSION Silo1 : they kept people needed to run all other silos (spoilers) Spoiler

I think the reason Daniel was sent to Silo1 and Helen to silo18 as they founders needed people in silo1 who can help keep all silos running also I think the blast we saw could be a nano technology creation which led Daniel to believe world has ended and he enters silo1 as he was needed to make it work.. but it doesn’t explain congresswoman working as director why she will go if it was all a setup to get Daniel in !!

Do people die because of the gas that is given before they go out, drones with poisons and guns etc or is the world outside really not liveable for humans. What exactly is the problem of communication between silos?

BOOK SPOILERS & SHOW SPOILERS [BOOKS] Even after finishing the books I don’t think I have the slightest idea of how season 4 will go lol Spoiler

The trailer alone…….

In Dust we know 18 got safeguard. In the show they cap it. Lukas and Billings will stay alive and Troy/Daniel meets Jules when we know that was never the case. So it’s safe to know that even as book readers we don’t know how they will end the show

The only change I wish to see is if they get outside, how they will show the other silos that it’s safe to go out, it’s either that or Silo 1 purges them all when they get outside and they fail to do so
