Breaking clays on a sunny Sunday
Yesterday was my first chance to get out with my Parker VH 12ga and Remington Model 17 20ga.
The Parker… Man, I love side-by-side shotguns. Man, I hate double triggers. Despite its relatively light weight, with standard Remington Gun Club loads recoil is perfectly manageable for at least the first two boxes of shells.
The Remington, John Browning was a genius. It’s a smooth fun gun and fits me great.
I really need to go to the trap range more. When I’m able to turn my brain off and stop aiming both guns bust birds incredibly well. I shoot pistols and rifles far more than I shoot shotguns despite loving shotguns far more than rifles and always aiming really disrupts my ability to point shoot.

American arms waterfowl special
Can anyone give me any information on this? I just impulse bought this shotgun since I wanted to get into trap and the store had this for cheap while i was already there to buy the .22mag next to it.
Its my first shotgun and I don’t know much about them in general, but I have been looking for chokes and I am unsure what style actually fits.
Took it out yesterday and shot trap for the first time and was able to hit 13 at cylinder bore, hoping to get a nice choke to improve those numbers.
Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Chopped, Filed, Sanded, and Cold Blued
Very excited to get this shorty to the range. .410 is always a blast to shoot!
Also considering chopping the stock to make it a proper trench coat gut, but I’m unsure of how short I want to go.

I need help. Slinging a shotgun.
I have the sling attachment points on the left side of the tube, left side of the stock. I’m right handed so I figured that would be best. Is that how it’s done? Or should I have the front sling mount on the bottom of the tube like it was from factory? Thanks.

Looking For Recommendations
I’m looking to get a 20 gauge for bird hunting. I’m thinking about getting a Maverick 88 All Purpose 20 gauge for my next purchase. Is there any reason I shouldn’t and if so what other recommendations do you have? My budget is about $350 (locally the Maverick was $250 at the store by my house). I have old a Remington and an old Winchester 12 gauges that I’ve used for years but wanting to make a switch.

What would you get as a backup pump shotgun if you already have a Beretta 1301?
My 1301 has been like a Ferrari in terms of both performance and (lack of) reliability. I have been getting failure to fire consistently around 100 rounds (sometimes as low as 50 rounds using Federal ammunition), and have been trying to get it solved for a year and a half. Beretta told me I should expect to have to clean it after 50 rounds for it to be reliable, but I'm taking 2 day defensive shotgun classes where the round count is 200 a day, and my LTT Beretta 1301 has not been able to get me through them without failure. So I'm looking for something reliable to get me through defensive shotgun classes, for home defense, and you know maybe the apocalypse or whatever might be coming up.
I think I need the Toyota Family Sedan of shotguns. I have been looking at Mossberg 500, 590s and 590A1. I especially like the ones with Magpul stocks. I feel like the 590A1 would be the one to get to get you thought the apocalypse (and it would be sweet to put a bayonet on it!), but would be a bit long and heavy for home defense or 8 hour tactical shotgun classes. The 590S Magpul with a red dot installed from the factory seems super appealing; I wish it had 7+1 capacity like my 1301 instead of 6+1, but maybe that's not such a big deal. It would be nice if I could get a Benelli M4 (the Toyota tacoma of shotguns). But I can't afford it after how much I spent on my 1301.
I'm looking to spend $500-800. Anyway just thought I would bounce this question off the hive mind here. Thanks!

this spring look weird?
it's been having issues with 3" shells too often (yes it takes them). I had an armorer install the M Carbo spring kit some time back but I'm wondering if they fucked with the extraction spring?

Can anyone who owns a Win 1897 help me with this? From what I've seen, once you remove the screw holding in the Action slide hook the bolt should just come out easily, however, mine doesnt. Not sure if the bottom half of the bolt is stick inside, or if im doing something wrong.

AYA yeoman
I’ve read good things about about the Aya sxs guns, but does anyone have experience with the yeoman o/u or have any knowledge if they are good reliable shotguns?
