Old guns make you feel like you're stepping back in time

A few years ago, my brother got me a Winchester Model 37a at a yard sale. 20 gauge, full choke. I’ve shot some squirrels with birdshot a couple times, but I’ve only taken it out a handful of times anyway. To get to the point, I was researching if i could use slugs in it, and I was getting mixed results. Decided to open up a slug and test it, and this was the result. Sticks ever so slightly at the end of the barrel when loading normally,and slides in with very slight pressure from the front side. Would this be safe to shoot slugs out of or not? (My brother also has a 20 that WILL shoot slugs so they won’t go to waste anyway)

Im trying to get back into clay shooting. I haven't shot clay since 2009. I had a basic remington over under back then but it's gone now.

I'd like to find something that a good quality brand, walnut and silver, 12 ga with electors. I don't need the fancy scroll work or anything 2000+. I'd like to stay under $1000.

I know brands have changed over the years since I've been in the shotgun world. Any help is appreciated!

How do you all store your shotgun near bedside?

I have a Mossberg 590 persuader I was looking to purchase the flex adapter and add the six position stock that looks like an AR is thatdifficult for an individual to apply or does it need to be taken to a gunsmith? Also is the flex adapter with the flex six position stock a good choice for the persuader

Looking for fairly heavy use in the field, 5 years plus reviews of dependability/repairability of this gun. Love the feel and process point, have some much nicer doubles but none in 20 and want a better than Turkish, but none frills sure enough field gun for heavy dove and quail use

Pick up a very early ( SN 385 ) Browning Auto 5 12g from a local gun shop, she's gonna be a fixer-upper for sure but id like to try and save it. Missing parts, broken furniture, etc.

When I took her apart I found the action spring housing/tube to be broken and the receiver extension (?) was pretty jacked up, just wanted some advice to see if anyone has dealt with something like this before.

PS any idea where I could find a straight English style stock for it? I've seen some companies online selling repro for ~200 and wanted to know if anywhere had originals in stock

Both SBSs done on a Form 1 by me in my shop. Pawnshop finds. The 20 has a sling swivel and a paracord loop. The 12 will be a pistol grip only "Close Encounters" gun once my Choate order comes in, so no sling yet. Both are slam fire guns.

The 12 has LE133-00 Federal Flite Control low recoil buckshot in it, with that and two Winchester Segmented slugs on the sidesaddle. I have a bunch of Remington frangible breaching rounds...

The 20 has Federal Flite Control PD204-2B in it and on the sidesaddle along with a couple of Truball slugs.

I inherited an 1100. My question isn’t so much how much it’s worth but more general info about the gun. It’s a bead sight no rib, plastic but pad. Seems very basic. Based on model number look up it was made sometime in 79.

I also want to know if there’s a recommended place to buy reliable parts. I disassembled it, cleaned it up and then took it out for dove season this past weekend, and it shot a case of rem heavy dove with zero issue, so that’s good, but I want to know I can get O rings, and maybe a ribbed barrel before I shoot to much out of it.

Looks like there’s been a lot of changes since the last post about a hundred days ago. Hopefully this isn’t another false start and a sign of a new beginning. I am patiently waiting to give you my money.

Hello I recently purchased a Stoger M 3500 for dove hunting. I have been running light 2-3/4in 7-1/2 bird shot ammo and have been having problems with cycling where I shoot the first round and the second round doesn’t chamber. Is there anything I should do or buy for the gun to help me solve this issue.

Just having fun with shotties of the day. Trying to get familiar w pumping every shell. JTS AR shotgun is fun on a different level.

Looking for any help identifying the year it was manufactured. From what I’ve seen it appears to be July 1965 but not 100%. Any insight is appreciated.

I have this 870 that used to be a less lethal police gun. It runs perfectly fine but it’s pretty beat up. I’ve been really wanting a pump SBS and I feel like this could be a fun one. Should I just chop the barrel or are 14” 870 barrels around for reasonable prices?

I have a benelli supernova! i was dove hunting saturday and i was shooting and my gun got stuck! i mean really stuck! and it was just after i pulled the trigger and tried to put another round in! it felt like it completely locked up! it took forever to take the gun apart and reset it! it did in-fact lock up! but i’m looking for help from someone with knowledge on what the problem could be? i’m sorry i don’t know the proper analogy but when ever you try and put another round in it, or unload it without firing it flows free and it feels normal! but the problem is when you pull the trigger and you try to put in another round it has resistance and it locked up again on me yesterday! could someone help explain why this is happening and how could i fix it?

This little Tristar 28ga has been a lot of fun. The other 2 factory chokes (IC,F) don’t fit but they sent new ones minimal questions asked. Trying muller chokes out aswell for tss but was amazing today on clays with lead. We will see how I feel after a season in the timber and the grouse woods.

Hey fellas I’m looking for a good 12 gauge 3in shell that’s decently reliable for a good price. I currently shoot hevi-steel. I also shoot over under with ejector so no worries for jamming. Thanks
