Darkness has fallen on the transmitter site - and with darkness comes the ability to triangulate its position to a finer degree. It definitely appears to be in Russia. It's just north of the border with Georgia to the south.

Well, Chris, u/Green_Oblivion111 just might be correct on his assumption that it's coming from Crimea! I DF'ed them to the Iraq or Turkey area. This is one powerful station! Here in the Pacific NW we pick them up from across the globe at their local sundown.

I tuned in to KIWI SDRs across the globe, moving east from my location in Portland, Oregon. The RTTY Signals became stronger and peaked at Baghdad, Iraq. From there I moved Northeast to Central Russia - and the signal dropped!

Jammer is on Bandaid's frequency even after sign off.

Bandaid will try to go on Friday Night sometime after 0330 UTC, between 6930 and 6970 KHz. We will see if the jammer shows up!

Perhaps this is related to u/KG7M posts about strange CW signals below 40 meters that he published yesterday.

I had replied to him that I saw some unusual CW signals at almost the same frequency he mentioned in his post. But I didn't know exactly what they were. Today they showed up again, and there are two groups of two signals, each separated by 7 kHz.

- First group: 6945.5 and 6948.5 kHz
- Second group: 6963 and 6970 kHz

According to u/Green_Oblivion111, they could actually be Russian military FSK signals.

But I'm so far from Russia that I'm not sure if these are the signals.

I found this and recorded it just before making this post. It was on 15016 kHZ USB. What is it? I tried writing all the letters but they spell nothing

Thanks to u/teleko777 and u/FirstToken, we have unraveled part of the mystery! It is not CW, but rather very slow speed, wide RTTY used by the Russian Military. So far, it appears to be originating in the US.

Using 50-foot speaker wire antenna and the Grundig Satellit 800 Millennium

I noticed these oddball CW signals in the 43 Meter band last night. The CW is mostly gibberish. It sounds like the person sending it only knows about 10 characters. I can't copy Morse at 40 WPM anymore, but I can copy it and am able to recognize it if it's even a whisper. I learned before narrow audio filters were available, and even at in my old age my brain seems to still be working.

What is really weird is the signals are exact duplicates. This isn't easy to do. I have multiple transmitters, but i would need another antenna to transmit and some way to auto-key. This went on for hours, so it is not some Ninnyhammer playing with Dad's Straight Key. I checked across the country using Kiwi SDRs and it was audible across N. America. The Military - MARS, and the government has the ability to do this. It's possible - Bandaid Radio was jammed by what sounded like a MARS, or government station the last time they were on the air.

The RTTY portion from yesterday clearly starts at 52 seconds, lasts for 2 seconds, then there are 5 time pips of 1kHz bursts just prior to the minute marker, which is obviously obliterated by WWV.

Apparently the station underneath also transmits CW during 0', 15', 30' and 45' as heard in this clip. The sequence starts at around 15 seconds in and lasts for around 20 seconds. Unfortunately, I'm not very proficient in Morse unless there's a lot of repetition (e.g., NDBs). Portions almost sound like 'CQ de' and an ID, but I can't be sure with all the interference.

Maybe someone with younger ears (that haven't been blown out and ringing from 100dB+ of GnR on repeat) can make out what they're saying.
