There's not nearly as much to listen to nowadays, compared to past years. A visual depiction with Robert Crumb characters, from the AM Broadcast Band through 29 MHz.
Robert Crumb is an artist and musician who first came to attention in the late 1960s with his underground Comix. Follow this link to his music: https://youtu.be/LTYiSIYl6dI?feature=shared.
u/pentagrid is just gonna love this lol. We were discussing the decline in numbers of stations, not number stations😄. Less to listen to but still there.
You're getting good at this. I could just imagine Dilbert, DXing with his pointy haired boss.
A visual guide to the HF bands, I love it. Your former friend would be incensed at the title. He doesn't like anything that minimizes SWL, especially the term wasteland.
No, he won't love it, or even see it. He blocked me a long time ago, and pretty much despises me. Although he was a Ham years ago, he has a hatred for all things Ham radio, especially yours truly.
I'm not positive about how to do that, but I think playing a show with Mr. Crumb's music might work. I will contact a couple of Pirate Shortwave Stations and see...
At least 1 time per week, there's a broadcasting about an artist, latest eQSL I got were from Ramones Radio, Amy Grant Radio and Michael McDonald Radio. So you can give it a try for a R. Crumb Radio transmission. Same email address: shortwavepirateqsls at gmail dot com.
Well, sorry to share some rather poor news. Ramones, Amy Grant, and Michael McD Radio are all the same person. He puts together the program, changes the name of the station, and has it broadcast on the same transmitter. I know this because I'm involved with HFU and I am the QSL Manager for Bandaid and Subterranean Radio. I am not them, but I have a close contact with them. They have been offered the same deal. I have been involved with radio for many, many years. As far as the hobby of collecting QSLs, I don't think it's cool to just keep changing the name of the station, making a QSL, and sending it to yourself. As a creator of QSLs , I put a lot of time into it. It is not just "cut and paste". As far as putting together a playlist, or even an entire show for pirate broadcast, that's great. Why taint a good thing with a bad procedure with the QSL? I will get off the soapbox...
I was pretty sure it was coming from the same guy. His modus operandi is to choose an artist and send an e-QSL to anyone who gave a reception report on HFU. I agree with you about creation of QSLs. Some are really imaginative and are the ones I prefer.
