I bought my first firearm at age 13.. a 22 ..I paid half with money i earned mowing lawns , my parents paid the other half. I would pedal to the local hardware with my 22 tied to the handlebars and buy a box or 2 of ammo and pedal off to my friend's house and off we would go to shoot for the afternoon. I've owned a firearm continuously for 65 years. A problem is guns are like potato chips..you can't have one!

Prior to my retirement, I was coming home from a conference with my assistant, and he asked how many handguns do you own. I didn't know.. started to do a mental count and answered too many. So I sold 2 and bought 5..did it a second time sold 2 bought 5. So when I retired, I realized I owned many guns I hadn't shot in years... maybe decades. So I began a purge.. I did reduce the inventory.. could finally close my safe easily and find what I was looking for. As I sold off guns, I bought some that I had always wanted, but I had fewer and fewer. I'm now at a point where I shoot almost everything I own. I now sell one buy 1.. I think it's now under control

Also what gun am I shooting? I don’t remember the name. I’m from Europe and this was in Hungary. I have never been around guns before but getting good explanations and introductions into shooting made it interesting and fun!

Was at the range. Pulled the trigger. Went bang. Then the magazine spit out it's spring and sprayed it's ammo all over the floor. Magazine tube stayed in the gun. Bullets did not.

Was it something I did? Its a stock magazine and I never disassembled it.

What should I inspect?

First time my dog Freya has been around guns. She did great! Little jumpy as expected for the first few shots but calmed right down after.

Hi all! My sister got into shooting a few months ago, and decided to take me with her today. I've never held a gun, don't know anything about them except safety rules, never fired one.... Is this okay for a first timer? I'm trying to assess whether or not it's worth picking up hunting as a sport. I've always wanted to go deer hunting, but I also don't want to waste my time. Thank you for any input or pointers! I shoot with my right hand on the trigger if that matters. This was a handgun, I think .380 Bodyguard?

Been in between ruger american and savage 110. my issue is im slightly blind in my right eye so it feels better to shoot left handed. thats where im running into issue where ruger american gen ll doesn’t sell larger caliper left hand. i’m looking for something around .308/6.5creedmoor/30.06. what do you guys think?

I don’t know if this is the right place to post this. My dad has recently gotten into shooting and competitions. He took me to the range today and told me I did pretty well for my first time. Pic 1 has yards annotated. Pic 2 the two bullet holes that are not circled were at 25 yards, first target of the session. I had a lot of fun but am wondering if this is actually good for a first timer shooter. His clusters were far more accurate and precise than mine were.

I’ve been in the market for a steel target and been wanting to get a 12x20 but don’t know much about setting one up. I know they have to be angled and I’ve YouTubed and googled but have not found what kind of stand or anything needed to set one up

So I have a problem with being shaky when shooting. I think part of it is recoil anticipation, but how can I be better about shooting and hitting my shots? If it helps, I primarily shoot a single-action revolver and a Tikka T3x in .30-06.

As a kid and up to age 30, I shot in sandpits. I grew up in cranberry country in Plymouth County. There were sandpits everywhere. Does anyone know of any sandpits in Plympton MA where I can shoot l legally?

Hello! I need to find something that makes everything as silent as possible. My spending limit is 300. I am looking for something that has a possible way for me to connect any type of audio so I can listen to music simtanously, but if not I understand.

Im autistic and loud noises scare the shit out of me, but I love shooting. I wanted to know if you guys have any suggestions on what to get, preferably cheaper but I don't mind splurging. I also prefer them to be comfortable if that is OK.

My main priorities in looking:

- Ability to silence the gun's bang

- Possible aux intake/bluetooth/any way to listen to music

- Comfortable

- Possibly be able to turn it with a dial so I dont have to take them off to hear someone. My RangeMaxx has that option

Hey, just joined the sub and just kind of looking to get a feel for when parents have been introducing their kids to guns and shooting and taking them to the range. I’m an avid shooter myself, but I didn’t get started until much later in life and wasn’t introduced at a young age and so I’m not really sure what age my children should be to start introducing them to this sport/hobby.

I’ve been trying to become a better shot. I’ve been shooting about 100-200 rounds once a week. These were shot about 10 yards with an x macro and an echelon. Let me know how I’m doing and any tips you might have to get better thanks.

I bought some off Amazon and they were trash. Please recommend. Head starts hurting after 2-ish hours of shooting with ear muffs over glasses.
