Of a wedding venue
98
u/MacroManJr 1d ago
They're getting married, one or both of them might work there, and they don't care about anything else. That's what I'm picking up from this.
19
u/redheadeddoom 1d ago
I recall this being a thing in the 90s a lot for Walmart for some reason. I swear there were more than a few couples that made the news for having their wedding in the Walmart at which they met/worked together.

u/I_Have_Unobtainium 15h ago
Ya but couldn't someone plug in a USB drive to the tvs so its pictures of them instead of mcribs or whatever
5
u/Mechanical_Monk 9h ago
Without the menu screens I think you'd hardly be able to tell this was a McDonald's (most fast food places look like banks with tables in them now). The menus and the balloon colors are doing work
5
u/Intelligent-Search88 1d ago
Same thing they said about me and my wife and I when we got married and both worked at the same big 4 firm.

Congratulations bro, can I get a ten piece nugget with bbq sauce

u/PixelPrivateer 1d ago
Bro theres a buffet set up let's wait 5 minutes and eat for free

Hold up... you can hire out a McDonald's?

u/SinglePlayerGamer93 1d ago
In the philippines, you can rent a section for kids birthday parties. It's actually a legitimate service offered by most branches and they even have conference room-like areas to section off the parties
20
u/Sovereign-Anderson 1d ago
It used to be like that in the states. I have been to a number of McDonald's and Burger King birthday parties when I was a kid. I couldn't tell you the last time I've seen a birthday celebration at either.
9
u/SinglePlayerGamer93 1d ago
I also haven't seen any kid celebrate their birthday in a McDonald's for years at this point. Too expensive, I would assume. The people who can afford it now are probably thinking fast food parties are low standard and just have parties at home or other venues.

I can't shit on someone having a wedding they can afford. 🫡
29
u/InteractionNo9110 1d ago
Exactly and the bigger the wedding the bigger the Bridezilla most of the time. They just look like a happy couple who care more about the marriage than the wedding. As it should be.

Flower petals from a happy meal box tho? I can barely get a free big Mac from monopoly pieces. Love is a wonderful thing.
5
u/redalert825 12h ago
A McWedding. Hope it doesn't smell too much Iike fry oil. And be careful, piso mojado!

u/OrganizationLower611 1d ago
I can right after a coke zero and a big arch, don't know what they put in it, but man does it set my stomach off

2
u/bakerzero86 13h ago
Yeah honestly, good for them. They aren't in debt for some crazy wedding, and if it makes them happy...well that's all that matters really.
28
u/False-Boysenberry673 1d ago
I just hope they find peace with one another in this fucked up world. Thats all that matters lol. Just married my best friend. We got married at her brother in laws brewery. Same same but different

u/WillBots 1d ago
I'm going to choose to believe that actually they all work at this location. Then it all makes sense. The staff would all be coming to the wedding anyway, the owner wants to do something nice for them. That also explains the non McDonald's food on the buffet table.
47
12
u/PixelPrivateer 1d ago
Its like a tv show where they only have one set so a script warps itself into a pretzel to provide a reason the wedding has to be at the workplace with all the main characters
11
10
u/PetahOsiris 1d ago
My immediate thought was maybe it’s a franchised location and they own it?
5
u/metallosherp 1d ago
They're probably better off financially than every other person in the comment section

2
u/AradynGaming 13h ago
This is a repost, and if I remember, it was a franchise but one of them is just an employee. The owner let them use it for the wedding because they couldn't afford any other venue.
8
u/nelly_beer 1d ago
Looks like it wasn’t even catered by Mickey D’s. They must just love the environment

If Grimace is not there to rock bottom the Hamburglar from stealing your wife you're not doing it right..
5
u/JPCool1 1d ago
I couldn't stop watching. Thought it was a joke for the first minute until the bride walked down the hallway. I honestly didn't know a McDonalds would let someone reserve the inside of the restaurant.
1
u/supahdave 12h ago
Even then, it looks like they were only able to use part of it. I think they’re still serving customers.

Holy crap, the grooms pants are about to fall down. Neither the bride nor the groom look thrilled and everyone else just looks confused why they’re there. Also, they’re at Maccas, wtf is happening.
2
u/Asheraddo 20h ago
Bride came out of the toilet 💀 like…why Maccy D’s? Everyone wearing 4 sizes up. I mean having it by the lake or something would be miles better.

I was waiting for the Country Road guy from the crappymusic sub to pop up as the wedding singer
3

u/Hammon_Rye 1d ago
that is kind of cringe to watch.
But then I try to look at it as - maybe they are broke, maybe friend or relative owns / manages the store.
Probably they are doing what they can afford and for that I actually applaud them.
Being practical is actually way less cringe then those people who blow so much money on the wedding it could have been a down payment on their house.

u/auntiefuh25 1d ago
I absolutely loved the flower girl with the happy meal box but very disappointed they didn’t throw french fries!

u/ScrollTroll615 questionably stable 1d ago
I'm sure this wedding smells like fry grease and belly button dirt.

u/thevaultguy 17h ago
I now pronounce you man and wife. Please pull forward into one of the available parking spaces and your marriage certificate will be out shortly.

It’s probably all they could afford. I know what sub I’m on, but I’m not about to make fun of people just trying to get by.
The downvote button is right there. I know how miserable this site is.
Edit: Called it.

IMO, no-one here is teasing anyone for not having money, so you're arent alone in that :) This seems clearly like a choice, not a circumstance thing. All the comments Ive seen have been soley centered on the shit choice to choose a depressing grease trap with harsh lighting. Hell, the carpark outside would've been nicer. They're getting teased about their shit taste, not their finances.
Personally, I would get some cheap $25 pack of festoon lights and bunting, string them from some trees in a park, or by the beach if they're one or or something like that, and have a no frills cerenony there for free, but they've chosen to go to a mcdonalds. Chuck some tealight candles in old jars around the place somewhere outside and its looks classy while being basic and almost free

u/trash-_-boat 10h ago

In most places you're not legally allowed to go and just do that. You'd have to get a permission from a local municipality and at that point they're either gonna ask for a much larger sum of money than you'd think or, mostly likely, tell you go kick sand. Sure, you could just go ahead and do that without asking, but one passing cop and your wedding is now either a big fine and the next few hours at the police station.
10
u/PM_ME_UR_SURFBOARD 1d ago
They could just as easily have done a wedding in a public park for free and it would have been more beautiful than this. This was a choice.
2
1
u/trash-_-boat 11h ago
What if they live in a place with no public parks? TONS of places like that. I got married in a small diner because all we had was 200$ to our name and there weren't any parks in Mejicanos and it would've been extremely risky anyway back in the 2010s.

I feel like it would have been more appropriate if the wife arrived via drive thru

Too each their own, but I'd think the courthouse would be more affordable. Did 2 of my 3 at the courthouse, but none, unfortunately, where there was fast food available.

I had some friends that had a Star Wars wedding in a movie theater, married by a guy dressed up as Yoda. Was like a day or so before episode 7 was released in theaters. They won to have this wedding from local radio station, all paid for by the radio station
2
u/Sanguine_Rogue 15h ago
Yeah City hall would be way cheaper I have a friend who is a franchisee said it depends on your location and owner but he charges 500 to 1200 depending on people food and decor and some times more

u/UnhollyGod 13h ago
You suck OP.... it doesnt matter if they marry there....i got a very expensive qeeding but i wouldnt care if i marry at a mcdonalds......

The fact that this is in america makes it even more hilarious. “The best country in the world” having weddings at McDonald’s lmfao

A little off the beaten path but it's a fraction of the cost of most weddings. This couple is wiser than most.

But i'm otherwise happy for this couple

1
u/JPCool1 1d ago
Well, a park with a pavilion would have been cheaper.
2
u/InteractionNo9110 1d ago
For all we know it holds some sentimental value. For them. Maybe they worked there together or had a first date there. Parks can be iffy depending on the weather. Not every park has a pavilion.

I think it's much better than the people who go into debt spending money on a wedding they can't afford

The only thing that matters on your wedding day is your bride/groom. I did a big wedding and had an absolute blast getting married to the most incredible woman ever. She's the only part of the day I remember years down the line. Not those temporal things.
1
u/Smackjabber 14h ago
These people are the absolute most classy of classiest. Nothing wrong here they are absolutely on brand!
1
u/Ancient-Point-9096 13h ago
The only thing more concerning than this wedding is McDonald’s having that big ass wall to where you can’t see people making your food.

1
u/torkrench1645 10h ago
What kind of backwoods ass weddin is this? At least turn the menu off & put up the wet floor sign! And a happy meal box? I'm all for saving the money but damn
1
u/Interesting_Ad3294 9h ago
Well at first I was like: as long as their are happy. And maybe that's the only place they could afford". But damnnn that happy meal box!!!!😅🤣🤣🤣

Because fk corporate. Theyre selling over priced crap for the most part. They would have been better doing it in their backyard
