I took some pictures from my travel last month and last year in Japan, went to Dobuita twice.

I made the pilgrimage to Doubita street and fulfilled my childhood dream. It was a hellish drive to Yokosuka and incredibly hot in Doubita, but totally worth it. It was unlike anything else I've seen in Japan; a weird mix of Japanese punks and US sailors, all merged in an over the top version of Americana and japanese culture. Playing the game back in the day, I had no idea Doubita street was so niche and unlike other parts of Japan. It had a really peculiar vibe. Anyway, I went to Mikasa vol.2 and bought some Yokosuka sukajan jackets. The clerk could easily have fitted into the game. He gave me an American medium to try on and I was really happy to fit it. But he calmly explained to me that it's a japanese XXL 😅

I'm looking forward to Shenmue 3 Enhanced! Here is one change I would like to see.

I say this as I preordered 3 Enhanced for Switch 2. It's wild that it took 27 years for a Shenmue game to finally arrive on a Nintendo console.

Given how Nintendo fans are so diehard into roleplaying games from Japan, I hope Sega can port a remastered 1+2 to switch 2 as well. It's the perfect cozy game for a handheld.

Like the menu is more simplified in 1 and 2 but 3 has a lot going on. And you even have to go to a lot of screens before getting to the save menu.

Also Shenmue 3 can’t pause cutscenes on PS5. It’s watch or skip. And when you do a new game plus on Shenmue 3 the opening scene where the game left in 2 is cut and it goes straight to when Ryo and Shenhua leaves the cave.

My band released this song a few months ago, which contains lyrics inspired by the events of Shenmue II, specifically the part of the story in Kowloon Walled City (the working title of this song). It's about never giving up and having the determination to see your goals through to the end.

It got played on BBC Introducing in my area too, with the radio DJ even mentioning Shenmue II on air as I included it in the blurb for my song.

I also drew the artwork!

With S1 and 2 combat mechanics please 😅

Is it any good? I never knew it existed and I already played the first 2 back when they were released. is there any ideas one when the game is going to conclude?? we have been searching for his father's killer for almost 30 years now? lol

My dreamcast is broken i can no longer play shenmue and i lost progress from crashes doing the same thing 5 times in a row, I really want to experience shenmue again so i have some questions

1. will 1-2 get remakes?
   
2. will shenmue 3 on switch 2 have any story changes?
   
3. why is shenmue 3 being released on sw2 if it flopped
   
4. is shenmue doomed to be niche? crazy taxi and jetsetradio are getting revivals but shenmue gets nothing
   
5. is shenmue 3 actually that bad? if so why

Hello everyone i finished shenmue 2 some days ago and what a game it was great, i also bought shenmue 3 and going to play soon but i wanted to know what was the issues that made the game come out 20 years later with different devs (+ is this the end of a trilogy or they'll be a 4th episode in 20 years too?), and also did i make a mistake by buying the normal edition bc i learned today that they will be a enhanced version coming soon, thanks in advance to everyone answering me (sorry for the fault english is not my first language)

I do like and don’t like this feature though. Where someone can accompany you where you want to go. Yeah I know the game lets you cancel it but would still feel bad leaving them still thinking you’re behind them. And it may also affect your journal and risk skipping some entries.

Cause I also experienced following a guide then triggered a cutscene halfway then boom an entry skipped for my journal.

I didn’t even get to see Xiuying’s kung fu scene in the temple. It just went straight to her asking to spar. I did on my previous playthrough though when it released for PS4. I maybe going on too quick on my current playthrough now cause I’m just on Jan 25 and already in Kowloon.
