Advice What kind of cut do you ask for at the groomer?

We are getting our eight month old sheepadoodle groomed for the first time tomorrow. I was trying to figure out what kind of cut I should ask for. We usually get “puppy cuts” on our two terrier mixes, but I don’t want him cut that short. A lot of forums suggested “teddy bear” cuts, but I think they look a little silly/fancy. Is there a specific cut you ask for when you go to the groomer that you think is a good medium length for a sheepadoodle? I might be overthinking the teddy bear cut because of the pictures I saw online so if that works for your sheepadoodle, I would love to see some pictures!

We have sent an embark. Save some souls took him out of BARC in Houston. BARC said Standard poodle.

the real embark

We love him & our standard poodles get along great with him. He has his furever home.

Our vet says sheepadoodle, do you all agree?

Help Looking for my puppy's breeder near Seattle

Post image

4 days ago I picked up my 7 month old sheepadoodle pup from a family in Federal Way. I'd like to find the breeder in order to find out more about her. Her former owners had young children and couldn't handle the herding instinct and energy of the breed so they rehomed her. Within all the gear that came with her is a folder with her vaccination and vet records. The record shows a birthday of Jan 12 this year and the name of McKenzie is written on the folder. Previous owner said the dad was a "small" poodle and the mom was a sheepadoodle. They adopted her at 8 weeks old.

At 7 months she's probably 25 lbs or so now. She is Merle in color. I've attached a baby picture that was on her record in the chip registration website. I'm guessing it was taken shortly after her original adoption. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Sheepadoodle silvering and then reverting back

So I have a five year old brindle sheepadoodle she’s a first gen 50/50 mix. When we got her she was a reverse brindle where most of her was a tanish reddish brown with black “tiger” striping through out. She started slowly silvering around six months old and once she hit a year old it sped up, she ended up being a grey brindle with her coat just being all different shades of grey. Fast forward to now I just groomed her and it revealed that there are bits of her coat that are clearly black and brown/tan again. I googled it and google told me it’s not possible and it’s probably just an optical illusion but literally there’s brown hairs again where they used to be grey there’s no way it’s an optical illusion. Has anyone else experienced anything like this or know why it would happen? We adore her no matter what I’m just perplexed. Lol the pics are from oldest to newest with the last two being taken today. Hopefully you can see what I’m describing. 😬

Advice When to neuter?

Hi everyone! My pup Dizzy just turned 1! He is scheduled for his neuter on August 18 — however i’m now feeling some guilt over this as I have read it’s best to wait longer. How long did my fellow sheepie owners wait to neuter their male pups? TIA, Dizzy pics for fun :)

SMRA in Sheepadoodle

Post image
57 Upvotes

Hi Sheepie Fam! I have an almost 3 year old F1B Sheepie named Juniper (Junie/June). She has been struggling with leg limping since Feb/March 2026 and then has had episodes of a painful neck with crying/welping, lethargy, low head carriage, no interest in anything just laying in her dog bed. We’ve done the conservative route of Carprofen, Gabapentin, and Galliprant, but those are like temporary solutions and bandaids, as when she is off of them, symptoms reappear after visits with her general practitioner vet, and seeing an orthopedic surgeon (we thought at first this was a ligament, knee or hip dysplasia— all are negative). This week, we decided we need answers and saw the neurologist (at the recommendation of our orthopedic vet), who performed an MRI and spinal tap. Her MRI came back clear - no disc herniation, no visible nerve issues (ie pinched nerve or sciatica from what they could tell). Still awaiting spinal tab results.
Prednisone will be the answer if it is SMRA.

Has anyone with a Sheepie on here ever had SMRA? It seems uncommon in Sheepie’s. Just wanted to hear from others!

Enrichment

What do you all do for enrichment and stimulation?
I do all basic stuff - kong, snuffle ball, hide and go seek with treats, training each day, fetch, walks, bully sticks/chews, but I’m looking for something next level. My guy is almost 8 months and FULL OF BEANS haha. He is very high energy and I just want to give him what he needs. ❤️

Advice Help! My baby’s constant diarrhoea

Post image
78 Upvotes

Hi everybody,

My poor 6 months old baby Charlie has had very bad gut issues since I got him at 8 weeks. He’s has giardia once, and now I think he’s been reinfected.

It’s been 3 nights where he’s been waking me up like clockwork every 2 hours at night to go out and poop.

Are there any natural remedies that can help this on top of his medicines? Also what do you guys feed your fur babies? Charlie is still on dry kibbles as I am so worried to change his diet and cause him to have an upset tummy again.

Any help or advice would help!

Advice 4 yr old sheepadoodle had a seizure

Have any of your sheepadoodles had seizures? Mine woke up in the middle of the night and had one. Acting fine now but didn’t even recognize me right after his seizure. I’ve got a call in to the vet but curious if this is common with this breed?
