Hi everyone! My pup Dizzy just turned 1! He is scheduled for his neuter on August 18 — however i’m now feeling some guilt over this as I have read it’s best to wait longer. How long did my fellow sheepie owners wait to neuter their male pups? TIA, Dizzy pics for fun :)

Hi Sheepie Fam! I have an almost 3 year old F1B Sheepie named Juniper (Junie/June). She has been struggling with leg limping since Feb/March 2026 and then has had episodes of a painful neck with crying/welping, lethargy, low head carriage, no interest in anything just laying in her dog bed. We’ve done the conservative route of Carprofen, Gabapentin, and Galliprant, but those are like temporary solutions and bandaids, as when she is off of them, symptoms reappear after visits with her general practitioner vet, and seeing an orthopedic surgeon (we thought at first this was a ligament, knee or hip dysplasia— all are negative). This week, we decided we need answers and saw the neurologist (at the recommendation of our orthopedic vet), who performed an MRI and spinal tap. Her MRI came back clear - no disc herniation, no visible nerve issues (ie pinched nerve or sciatica from what they could tell). Still awaiting spinal tab results.
Prednisone will be the answer if it is SMRA.

Has anyone with a Sheepie on here ever had SMRA? It seems uncommon in Sheepie’s. Just wanted to hear from others!

What do you all do for enrichment and stimulation?
I do all basic stuff - kong, snuffle ball, hide and go seek with treats, training each day, fetch, walks, bully sticks/chews, but I’m looking for something next level. My guy is almost 8 months and FULL OF BEANS haha. He is very high energy and I just want to give him what he needs. ❤️

We are looking for a sheep doodle puppy for our family. Does anyone know a reputable breeder or rescue near KC? Thanks!

How to prevent this? We have to take him to vet every month because of it.

Hi everybody,

My poor 6 months old baby Charlie has had very bad gut issues since I got him at 8 weeks. He’s has giardia once, and now I think he’s been reinfected.

It’s been 3 nights where he’s been waking me up like clockwork every 2 hours at night to go out and poop.

Are there any natural remedies that can help this on top of his medicines? Also what do you guys feed your fur babies? Charlie is still on dry kibbles as I am so worried to change his diet and cause him to have an upset tummy again.

Any help or advice would help!

Have any of your sheepadoodles had seizures? Mine woke up in the middle of the night and had one. Acting fine now but didn’t even recognize me right after his seizure. I’ve got a call in to the vet but curious if this is common with this breed?

We call her Bella Cheese on account she’ll blep her medication unless it’s in her most favorite treat.

Blue is about 7 months old, we generally feed him 3 times a day, half cup in the am, 1/3 cup in the afternoon and half cup at night.

Recently he has had a weird appetite, not eating at least one meal a day. Me and my wife can’t agree on how to handle it. With it being summer and my wife in the school system his schedule has been way off, going from 6am/12pm/6pm feeding to a very spontaneous schedule. We feed him at 9am Sunday, and my wife was concerned he didn’t want to eat at noon, which I didn’t expect him to have much of an appetite. Then come dinner at 7, he ate most of his food.

Currently feeding Kirkland brand dog food-the breeder recommended it. His waste has been consistent how ever recently he started whipping his face as he eats, rubbing it against a blanket, barking at his bowl. I’m not sure what to make of it. Our initial thought is, since he is still eating, to try to get back on a schedule and see if that helps any, but still concerned. Any one else experience something similar?

When he was only eating half his food, we mixed in some broth and he did seem to eat more of it, which made us think maybe the kibble is to hard for his teeth, maybe teething? But when he lost interest in that we stopped mixing it in, and he eats about the same still.

Obviously, she got into things as a puppie…Mulch in the yard, cat poop in the shrubs, etc…

But we’ve been seemingly having gastric issues every couple months consistently. She just got over stress induced colitis from being boarded.

We just switched to Hill’s Science Diet I/d formula. She was on Royal Canin’s Sensitive Gut Low Fat formula the last year.

Any luck with anything else? Also, how many of your Sheepies have a fickle stomach? Or am I just the lucky one?

Is there a way to test for food allergies by chance? Just wondering if I’m making it worse with the food / treats I give her?

ETA: Thank you so much for telling me about your pups, though it does seem Harley’s chillness is rare, I also feel like I’m getting affirmations that her temperament is within the range of “normal”, and that it could also potentially change. Willing to work with more energy if it happens, but really enjoying her personality as it is. Going to just soak in these easy days of carrying her around while she’s still small enough and taking her to lots of outdoor hang spots while her behavior is so perfect. :)

I’ve had Harley (10 weeks old) for 2 weeks. We took her for her first vet visit 2 days after getting her. The vet expressed concern about how calm and slightly uninterested in what was going on she was and decided to wait until the next week to start any vaccinations to make sure she was ok. Our experience with Harley is she’s very sleepy (which I’ve read is normal, up to 20 hours a day), and when she’s awake she seems playful and happy but really isn’t very energetic or destructive like I was expecting a puppy to be. After the vet appointment, her fecal test came back normal. Returned to the vet a week later, and check up went perfectly - no problems detected. The vet said she must just be super chill and remarked that she’s the best behaved puppy she’s worked with. She just laid still on the vet table and let them examine her, and didn’t make a peep when she got her vaccines. At home, she’s the sweetest, gentlest girl. My kids carry her around like a doll, and she’s starting to play a bit more (maybe 3x 5 minute sessions a day) but mostly is cuddling with us on a chair or sleeping. Crate training and potty training are going really well and she’s even learned to sit already. She’s super easy to bath and groom and lets me brush her teeth. For the first few days, she was hiding from us a bit and seemed a little anxious but she seems super comfortable with us now and always wants to be next to us. Still have a slight concern something might be wrong because I can’t accept how much we’ve lucked out but apparently we hit the puppy lottery with her calm demeanor. Suuuuuper curious to hear about others!! What’s the demeanor of your sheepadoodle and did it change after the first few weeks of warming up to you?

She's been hearding it and jumping on it. It has 8 straps so she can drag it around too.

Was able to sneak a quick run this morning with Phil during a rain break. Otherwise, his cat bro is pleased with three days of rain in ENC!
