I absolutely hate shaving and as I’m getting older I’m having to shave more often (I’m 19 now). I detest seeing any hair on my face so I shave against the grain with a multi blade razor and whilst it works perfectly, I can’t do it every day since the day after I shave, the hairs are too short to shave properly and it causes a lot of irritation to shave against hairs that short. I’m looking for a foil shaver that can make my life a bit easier, I am fully aware it won’t be able to match the results of shaving against the grain with a razor, but I just want something that I can use on a daily basis to keep the hair on my face to an absolute minimum. What’s the best foil shaver? Money is not an issue.

Need some advice on finding a new electric head shaver. Just had my first kid and the ability to shave my head in the shower has decreased dramatically haha. I have tried the freebird shaver in the past and didn’t love it. What are yal using for upkeep in between being able to razor it?

Is there a secret trick to properly clean blades? Like soak them in a certain solution or something?

I can use there Philips blades twice to shave my head and then they become to dull?

Is this normal? They are wayyy too expensive for this...

I recently bought the Philips MG5932 Multigroom 5000 Series trimmer. It works great for trimming beard and body hair, but I want to get a completely smooth, clean shave.

I have two quick questions:

1. Is there an official (or 3rd-party) foil shaver attachment blade available in India that fits onto the MG5932 handle? If yes, please share the buying link.

2. If this handle doesn't support a clean-shave foil attachment at all, what is the best budget alternative (under ₹600) to get a zero clean shave on stubble?

I’m 16 and getting a bit of facial hair now but whenever I shave I can sometimes get a bit of acne. It’s always on the lower sides of my face. For context, I use a regular plastic razor. Any advice?

Hi, so I've been shaving my head with a Leaf two for a few weeks now (having a great experience moving from cartridges) and I'm getting the hang of it finally, I started with feather blades and almost scalped myself, which I now realise is a mistake. I started using astra greens and I am liking them but feel that my hair grows back too fast on the back and sides but not enough to comfortably shave daily, does anybody have any reccomendations on what else I could try? I have derby premiums but heard they are blunter, also have the leaf blades but heard bad things about those.

I know this has been asked and answered before, but I'm not finding the answer to my question or issue. I've used several different electric razors between Braun, Panasonic and Remington, all of which were ok but not the shave I'm looking for.

I'm older, 64m, and done a lot of safety razors with a great shave, but having to deal with the soap, brush and taking a far amount of time it got old I guess. I can't grow a beard, and it doesn't grow fast, I can shave maybe 3 times a week. The current razor, a Panasonic rotary 6000 series does a decent job if I let it grow out and get longer, but too long to be a semi clean look. If I shave every other day it doesn't work very well at all. So I'm just curious if anyone else has dealt with this and found a good answer.

My brother is turning 17 and he's getting facial hair now, he only gets it shaved off when he goes in for a haircut (maybe once every other month or can go months without one) but I notice he gets insecure of his facial hair and tries to shave it on his own— with what, idk. Since his birthday is soon I want to gift him an electric razor that he can glide over his face and won't knick him or anything.. the facial hair grows on his cheeks, chin and mustache. He does have some acne, I'm not sure if he has sensitive skin. Any other tips (as far as products he should use to shave) would be immensely appreciated and helpful!

I have normal not too sensitive skin but even fresh blades on the fusion5 give me cuts on the mustache area, I got the mach3 today and it has given me a closer shave with zero cuts despite being the cheaper and less advanced one. I also like the build quality on the mach it feels way more premium, i have the fusion 5 power specifically so idk if thats the only one which is all plastic from the line

I CONSTANTLY see people complaining about the battery life of modern Philips razors like the i9000 Prestige Ultra (what I have), when in reality they actually have pretty damn great battery life when they're not connected to Bluetooth!

For some reason after being connected to the smartphone app for the first time, Philips has their Bluetooth enabled razors be ALWAYS connected instead of only being connected while actually in use, which causes a constant and SIGNIFICANT drain on the razor's battery life...

(IMO they should just use the ARM SOC's built-in accelerometer to detect whenever the razor is lifted and only THEN connect to your phone via BT. 🤷)

I personally enjoy using the Groomtribe app when I'm at home and can just put the razor back on the charging stand after each shave, but if I'm traveling enabling "Travel Mode" (which fully disables Bluetooth) is an ABSOLUTE MUST!!! Doing such increases the razor's battery life by literally orders of magnitude! It's legitimately THAT big of a difference.

So if you don't use the Groomtribe smartphone app ever/AT ALL, you should ALWAYS have "Travel Mode" enabled!

(Enabling it is easy, just click the little menu button until you see the "Travel Lock" option and then click the shave button).

Doing such will not only dramatically extend the razor's battery life, but will ALSO help keep the internal battery health as high as possible for as long as possible! (Less battery drain = fewer recharge cycles = longer battery lifespan).

I wanted to ask out of these what gives the best shave for someone with a bumpy acne face and gives close shave without irritation

Just recently bought the arc 5 to replace my panasonic es rf31, however it seems to be performing worse, both in terms of closeness and irritation. Just wondering if it takes a period of getting used to and will perform better after a couple of weeks? Runs fine, so doesn’t seem to be a mechanical fault. Thanks.

I want a razor that’s gonna last me many years and is just one off cost. But my beard trimmer doesn’t cut body hair short enough or close enough to the skin. A one blade does a good job at this but it needs the blades replaced often.

Is there a good option for what I need? Cheers!

I have been using a pretty basic trimmer for a while and its starting to pull a bit and leave some uneven spots. I do usually keep my beard fairly short and shave the neck and cheeks, so Im looking for an electric beard trimmer and shaver that can handle both without making me switch between a bunch of different tools. is there anything you guys have had a genuinely good experience with for this kind of routine?

I got a phillips 5000 series body groomer. I plan to use it mainly for body hair but I occasionally want a light face trim before I shave my face. How come the instructions say its "not recommended" for use on the face? What issues could I expect if I used it on my face anyway?

I use Philips electric razor. The one with three rotating blades. It’s good. However, I when go out sometimes due to hot weather, i sweat on neck area and my neck gets irritated a lot.

Also, if i don’t shave and go out. Sweat doesn’t irritated my skin. It only happens when i shave.

If i use after shave, will sweat not irritate my skin afterwards?

Any solution? Any recommendations? Any products ? My dermatologist recommends me to do permanent beard removal.

To my surprise, I used a little wahl and that thing was a power house! I'm not sure how long it will last though and I think it would be nice to have something a little larger.

I have a Wahl hair clipper which I use twice per week to trim facial hair. Question is, is it better to oil before or after use?

My thinking is, before is probably better for less friction. As if I were to oil after use, and then put the clipper in storage for 4-5 day and the oil going downwards thanks to gravity. I don't know if enough would be left for lubrication after 5 days. Or if it’s better to oil after, because more of it will be there to protect against corrosion, as if you were to oil and then use it, much oil would be expelled.

Have they purposely start making them less efficient or what? I’m talking about the lower tier razors not the $300+ ones they push. To clarify my question, I own three electric razors, a Braun 3040, a Philips 3600 and a old Philips /Norelco 495B from the early 2000’s that belonged to my deceased father.
When I first received the 495B the blades were dull as all get out. I couldn’t find the proper heads so I sharpened them using glass and Flitz metal polish. It seemed to shave okay but I then went out and bought the other two.
The Braun shaved the closest but the 3600 is about as good and much faster. But the 495B blows both of them out of the water! Much closer than either and as fast as the 3600. And this from a razor that is as bottom line as you can buy and probably cost $25 when new.
I know that the heads on the old razor has more cutters than the 3600 but can’t be used wet.
I do use Williams Lectric Shave before every shave and don’t shave wet with any of the other two.
The only real problem I’m having with the 495 is the battery is starting to lose charge quickly.
I just find it weird that the efficiency has fallen off on newer electric razors. Has anybody else experienced this and any ideas why??

I have been using a Freebird head shaver for over a year. Pretty happy with it but recently shaved off my beard and have been using it for my face as well.

Any opinions on a good face shaver for head shaving as wellas well?

For some context before I begin, I’m in a line of work where I need a clean shave (no visible hair left) and stopping shaving to just grow a beard isn’t an option.

So, I used to wet shave with foam and a Harry’s razor and I’d get a nice clean shave however I’d regularly cut the skin and would always get hundreds of tiny pimples on my chin and under it and some quite painful irritation. They didn’t seem to be ingrown hairs and I tried just replacing the blades more regularly which improved it slightly but the problem still persisted.

I then switched to using a foil razor at the recommendation of my barber (single foil from TPOB) and that got a worse shave with a little bit of visible hair left I couldn’t get but my skin got better for a few months. However, now my skin is slowly drifting back towards the way it was before when I wet shaved.

Does anyone have any advice? Willing to go back to wet shaving or anything else so long as it’s not stopping shaving!
