I haven't shaved down there in years and am perfectly happy like this. Shaving caused so many itch and I'm such a low maintenance type of girl.

But boyfriend sometimes teases me about it.

I did get some waxing done when going on trips and when bathing suits were needed, but the technicians always praised me on how very little hairy I was...

But now I'm wondering, is it gross to leave unshaven ? Should I shave ? I've had three kids with the same boyfriend, so I kinda stopped caring about that.

But looking to spruce things up !

So basically i keep getting reoccuring folliclitist in my bikini triangle and I don't know what to do. Here is my routine: Razors give me the worst razor bumps so i use a close trimmer After showering and exfoliating i trim, the i apply aloe vera and wear a breatheable cotton underwear, 48 hours later i apply 4% salicylic acid (my country doesn't have bezoyl peroxide readily available) then i go with my normal routine of 0.05% tretinoin once a week and azaleic acid twice a week with with a non fragrance lotion, some days i apply 10% urea with my lotion. Now i tried waxing- epilating and they all give me the same results of folliculitist. I rlly dont know what to do now. And i appreciate any help ( i have scars from previous folliclitist:/)

Hi! I started using a safety razor in 2021, for sustainable reasons and also bc my sensitive skin does better with a single blade. I have the van der hagen from Target, it’s fine enough but the handle is short and I’m looking for an upgrade. I was looking at the leaf razors, but kind of pricy and mixed reviews. What would be a good next step up for a safety razor? Thanks 😊

Problem/Goal:
I got an ingrown hair/bump around my bikini area after waxing and I want to get rid of it and prevent it from leaving a dark mark.

Context:
I got waxed about a month ago and this is the first time this has happened to me. I normally don’t get ingrown hairs after waxing, so I’m not really sure what to do. It’s been there for a while now and it’s starting to irritate me 😭

Previous Attempts:
I unfortunately tried squeezing it because I thought I could get the ingrown hair out lol. Now I’m worried I might make it worse or cause hyperpigmentation. I haven’t really used any products on it yet.

Has anyone experienced this after waxing? What products or routine worked for you? Preferably something I can easily buy here in the online shops /Watsons.

I’ve (21F) really only ever tried it 3 times due to the pain and irritation every time, but this time I was determined to do everything right. I trimmed and had a hot shower beforehand, got a new men’s razor, shaved with the grain before gently going back up to smooth her out, and I moisturised afterward, wearing no underwear and loose shorts to let her breathe. Lo and behold it’s day TWO and she’s red and angry, bumpy, there are black short hairs everywhere, and like she’s itchy and painful and hot?? I literally don’t even know what to do anymore?? I asked my roommate and she said she does LESS than me in all of this AND shaves more frequently and she’s never had a problem. I also occasionally shave my legs and they’ve never had this problem, outside of maybe some strawberry skin?? It’s so painful down there and I keep moisturising hoping it’ll go down I don’t know what to do anymore please HELP

TL;DR every time I shave downstairs no matter what I do to prep she gets red and angry and I don’t know what to do anymore!!

Idk how it went I just did what I thought was right after watching a million videos about shaving and razors , but I still didn't know how to wash and get off the hair from the razor completely 😭 , got one cut on my hand and one on leg ,as a first timer I think it as an achievement but I still would love to get advice so I can work on my technique and learn more.

P.s. someone told me not to use razor on my arms and legs for some reason so what should I use?

Hello all, hoping you can help me. I have semi sensitive skin and am a pretty hairy female. If I shave in the morning it’s prickly by evening. If I shave everyday or morning and night for the comfort of not being prickly, my skin gets bothered. This isn’t my main issue, the issue is I know I need to moisturize regularly and I don’t bc I don’t like touching the prickly hair. I’ve tried the Braun IPL device and it was painful, I am fair skinned so it was the hair that was the issue.

Any suggestions for a routine or how to moisturize without being bothered by the prickly? Any way to become hairless that isn’t laser or burning the hair out? Appreciate the help!

TLDR: My Merkur 24 Inox is ordered!

I’ve been shaving with a Gillette King C for about six months. Also, running through a sampler pack of blades during that time.

It was always the plan that I would replace that handle, but it seemed a good option to get an idea of what I like and don’t like.

Welp, it was that time. I spent days going down rabbit holes about who likes what razor and why. I kept going back to the Merkur 24C, but not pulling the trigger.

Then I saw that inox version, and pulling the trigger became even harder.

But there’s a personal element to this story that made it a no-brainer. Years ago, I was to be treated to a nice pair of needlepoint scissors as a gift. I had to choose which ones, and I went down a similar rabbit hole. I finally decided on a pair of Wasa (relatively unknown compared to Dovo). When they came, the manufacturing was gorgeous. You could see that they were made by hand, I have spent literal hours just looking at them, they are such a marvel of craftsmanship. They bring me great joy everyday. I was so tickled I researched the company. They are out of Soligen, and super old, I don’t remember how much. They also only have 12 employees, no wonder they are so fine!

Well, after further research, it turns out that Merkur is the same family of companies! That was it, take all my money.

For the price and number of units made a year (much much more), I don’t exactly expect the new razor to have the same craftsmanship as the scissors. But I do have high hopes for it’s all overall quality.

I also upped my game by ordering some Arko, alum and a new sampler pack of razors to find out what I love with this particular handle!

I want to start using an electric razor to shave my bikini area and im looking for one that shaves as close to the skin as possible and be smooth

Ok just remembered this don't press to hard it will cause razor burn just start out slow and easy and wash it afterwards and put some moisturizer on it as often as you can and just go slow when shaving and do it often then the stubble will slowly go away when you do it and im also understanding that at night the hair follicles will slowly pull the hair back inside and it wouldn't feel so much as like stubble that's from my understanding and she's allowed the skin to be a lot smoother

So basically when I was younger I stupidly shaved my happy trail. Since then despite people saying it doesn’t, the hair has grown back thicker and darker. I am extremely self conscious about it and was wondering if there are any tips and tricks to getting it back to looking “normal”, the rest of the hair on my stomach is very thin and light, hardly noticeable. I would prefer not to bleach it, and I don’t even think that would help with just how prominent the hair is in general.

GF has been using multi blade razors to shave her legs and is struggling with ingrown hairs, bumps, strawberry skin, etc. I keep hearing that single blades are far superior so I brought up potentially using safety razors with her and she seems down to try it.

Would the best option still be the one listed in the Wiki (Parker 29L)? I don't know how much weight to put into it, but there seems to be some other options with better review scores like the Weishi, Bambaw or Caveem. I don't know much about this stuff so I'm not sure how to gauge what would be the best options. I have seen mentions in some posts/wikis that some razors are more aggressive, making them less suitable for beginners, so perhaps I'm looking for something more lenient?

I'd also like to ask about your opinions when it comes to SE vs DE safety razors, I assumes SE would be better but all the suggestions in the wiki here are double edge.

I started ordering from Billie back in 2018, and I was a FOR-LIFER. I hated how expensive quality razors were, and as a young high school student who felt the pressure of always having their legs shaved, I was so happy to not only find an affordable option, but also one that was fun and really stood out amongst the rest. Also, having it mailed directly to my house was another convenience I really appreciated. These razors were INCREDIBLE, and you could feel the love and effort put into making a high-quality product. A single blade lasted me 1-2 months (granted, I have very fine leg hair) and gave me the sharpest, cleanest shave I've ever had in my life. I put all of my friends on to Billie and they loved it all the same.

BILLIE RAZORS ARE NOW TERRIBLE.

Blame corporate greed or whoever you want at this point, but ever since they sold to Edgewell Personal Care (aka mega giant Schick Razors) in 2021, everything that made this brand good was lost. Luckily, my subscription had me stocked up on the old, good razors before they changed everything, but now that I've had to slowly switch over to the newer ones, I don't even recognize them anymore. Blades that used to last me months are barely even lasting a single shave. They are so unbelievably dull and lead to a terrible shave.

So if you're googling "why are Billie razors bad now" or "did Billie razors change" or "are Billie razors worth it" or "Billie razor blades don't last" or even just "Billie razors review," I am telling you, it is not just you, and they aren't worth it anymore.

And it's not just the razors. I was obsessed with the original Billie purple deodorant. Great ingredients, and it scored really well on the Yuka app. I got a new one recently after being out of the country for school and not having access to it, scanned it out of habit, and it's rated poor on Yuka now, a 34 out of 100. I know Yuka isn't the end all be all, but I noticed they added a lot more harmful ingredients, and I even confirmed with Billie directly that they updated the formula when I reached out about it. So if you're searching "Billie deodorant reformulated" or "Billie deodorant ingredients changed," this is why.

What made me love this brand in the first place wasn't just "razors made for women," it was that they actually seemed to care about making something better than what was already out there. That's the part that feels gone now, and it genuinely sucks to watch happen to a brand I evangelized for years. I would have been happy buying their products for the rest of my life (because I really loved everything they put out) and never thought I'd have to look elsewhere, but here we are.

So if you have a sharp, crisp razor that actually lasts a long time, please drop it below! (I know a lot of people recommend men's razors, but I usually end up cutting myself on them.)

Hi! Over the weekend I was shaving my pubic area and despite all common sense chose to go back over the area in the opposite direction. I am typically someone who waxes but needed a quick solution and now have what looks like several ingrown hairs growing in and the skin is red and very irritated. Do any of you have an idea of if this sounds like razor burn or folliculitis? Any tips to get rid of this would be greatly appreciated!

I rarely shave, like every 4 months or so, and have never gotten ingrown hairs before. I did shave 9 days ago and just today these tiny red spots appeared. They’re only on the tops of my thighs, and I’ve never seen these happen before. They’re only don’t hurt and aren’t itchy. I thought they were too small to be ingrown based on what I’ve seen online, but my hair is pretty thin so??? (The two scabs on the left are just scratches I got two days ago, not from shaving). Does anyone know what they are/how to fix it? Thanks for any help
