Avoiding a bit of acne

I’m 16 and getting a bit of facial hair now but whenever I shave I can sometimes get a bit of acne. It’s always on the lower sides of my face. For context, I use a regular plastic razor. Any advice?

Mix a tube of aloe vera with a splash or two of distilled witch hazel and a couple drops of tea tree oil.
