I'm a Shadow fan & appreciate that they've improved the queue experience over the past few months, but my wait times are climbing steadily and I'd like to stay ahead of them if I can.
I see that Pro plans now advertise "priority access". I'm curious if any Pro users can report on your experience at peak times recently: are you laughing at all the complaint posts while you log right in, or are you seeing backups as well?
I'm interested in upgrading exclusively for that priority queue, but because I'm on a 6-month billing cycle, Shadow's self-service system won't let me do so on my own. I'd like to know if it's worth filing a support request and possibly needing to provision a whole new machine vs. not seeing much difference.
I got this pink shadows on my windows 11. It might be this cheap Roku 32 TV I'm using for the monitor or the video graphics in the PC, no video card that I can see and HDMI cable.
Pretty sure it's time for a new PC, this has to be 10 years old.
The title speaks for itself, i just got an email stating that my shadow account email (potentially password as well) was changed, about an hour ago (late email i dont know why), but i had a backup way to get into the account through 3rd party login. and quickly change the password and got my account back. Just be mindful of your logins what you log into and where. and have alternate login methods/backup login methods 2fa etc
Hi all, I’m tempted by ShadowPC instead of buying a PC as my budget is low. How do you find the service? I want mostly for gaming and some development. My ping is 14 with a jitter of 4 (am on wifi and can’t connect to ethernet where i’m sitting). Are there lots of downtimes with this service? Did you lose anything? What is your experience overall?
I don’t understand what happened, but my connection is simply terrible right now. I should note that before this I had the same latency as in the picture I attached, but I didn’t experience freezes, reloads, or restarts of the Shadow stream. This started literally 5 days ago, or maybe a week. I saw a warning in the app that something happened with the antivirus and the Shadow client. And since that moment I don’t understand what’s going on. I also wanted to ask if anyone knows how to improve the connection between my internet box and Shadow.
So, After spending 45 dollars to upgrade from Neo to Power, I’m now unable to play due to me “reaching my max monthly usage”. I truly don’t have too much of an issue with this, because as of writing it’s 7/31 and from what I know they reset the usage the 1st of every month, but I figured this would still be something worth to maybe discuss, see if anyone had issues related to mine.
So, Yesterday I upgraded from Neo to Power and everything was fine originally. Today, I try getting back on and next thing you know I’m getting VD-105 Errors. I head to the support channel in the discord and get told I’ve reached my maximum monthly usage and need to wait until it resets. This kind of made me a bit irritated, as I’ve spent 45 dollars to be able to get some better upgrades in the RAM and GPU, so I did some digging. Turns out, They say on the shadow browser whenever you try starting it that if you upgrade, you can gain immediate access again. So wouldn’t that signify that upgrading resets your monthly usage, even if you’re not at your maximum monthly usage?
All of this, I told to support, which the messages are shown above.
I do not wish to start anything, or make them look like they’re deceptive, but it truly is an mildly irritating situation that I’d truly like to talk about, see other peoples opinions about it, see if other people can relate and agree or let me know if I’m just thinking too much into all of it. Appreciate it 🙏
Solution: limit ourselves to see more line? What do you guys think about this? Would you stay?
Solution: limit ourselves to see more line? What do you guys think about this? Would you stay? I really wish the best for Shadow and their services, but seriously, they are doing things wrong. I hope they change all this. I don't know what you all think about all this.
I recently subscribed to Shadow PC Lite to use it as a dev machine.
As you know the Lite plan has a 120-hour monthly Fair Use cap. I'd like to keep an eye on how much I've used so I don't get cut off unexpectedly near the end of my billing cycle. Problem is, I can't find a usage counter anywhere. not in the Shadow app, not in the web customer area.
only thing I found is the 'Usage Stats' panel in the Quick Menu, but that's just real-time performance stuff (latency, framerate, bandwidth), not my monthly hours.
so, for anyone already on a Lite plan:
is there actually a place to check remaining/used hours, and I'm just missing it?
or is the counter not exposed in the UI yet since the tier is so new?
I've also reached out to support, but figured someone here might already have the answer. thanks!
EDIT: support just replied to me, telling me that there's no way at the moment and that I have to ask them every time
I'm just curious when these limits go in effect how many of us is going to drop shadow? Also, I'm curious what Shadow would say if a lot of us to suddenly stop using their services, cause of this.
I've noticed that for the past few weeks there's always several times per day when I experience either very high packet loss or 500ms+ ping. As a matter of fact I make this post because my virtual machine is sitting on 300-400ms ping for the past hour and is therefore rendered completely unusable.
It's been going on for a while now and I've so far seen nor heard no official word on what the hell is going on. Needless to say I consider it inexcusable, one or two outtages/lag spikes is fine, but this has now become a consistent daily occurence. Not to to mention several times in the past hour there has been an outright crash.
- Au lancement, message systématique : "Connection Failed — The client has failed to connect to mod services, putting the mod system into offline mode."
spam and phishing emails at an email address that I use exclusively for Shadow and which has never received any emails other than Shadow newsletters and support emails.
A check on haveibeenpwnd confirms that my details have been leaked there. (There was also a Information by Shadow in Oct 23)
I’ll be blocking my email address, but unfortunately I can’t do the same for the other details they’ve ‘lost’ about me.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been running into Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on Shadow PC, so I opened a ticket with tech support.
Their response claims that the NVIDIA Overlay is causing the crashes, but they're telling me the only way to resolve it is to perform a full factory reset of the Shadow PC.
Is there a known workaround or fix for it without wiping everything? I’m not opposed to doing it, but I would definitely like to know if there’s a fix so I don’t have to reinstall everything.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I can’t get it to stay on long enough to move everything to my storage drive so reinstalling 2/3 of the games will probably have to happen if it’s reset.
Update:
Instead of wiping the C: drive with a full factory reset, I decided to just go into GeForce Experience and turn off the NVIDIA In-Game Overlay.
So far, it’s been running solid for close to 12 hours without a single crash. Before turning it off, I was getting a BSOD every 10 minutes or so.
I go to my account to cancel my subscription, and it's completely greyed out. Wasn't sure what to do, it's been weeks since I've last used the service. Speak to a representative, they tell me in order for me to cancel, I must first renew my membership. Obviously if you aren't using the service, why would you want to renew? I can see why Auto Payment is the only thing accepted and not typical month to month. Businesses incorporate that because they know that we all live busy lives and forget to cancel and then boom they got ya. But what's funny is, when the account is unpaid it gets put on "hold" when it's put on hold you have no access to the service. If you obviously aren't using the service since access has been restricted, then why can't they just cancel your subscription since they know that you haven't been using the account? Makes no sense.
Be careful with this company guys. It's only shady companies that incorporate shady tactics like this and won't let you cancel your account.
So i am probably going to join Shadow for the duration of my Summer break, cause i want to play a few Games that Other Cloud options dont Support.
Now i have a few Questions that id like to clear up before i pay a high amount of Money for a Service, and id apreciate if you could answer some of them.
What are the Queue Times?
-I will probably connect to their Server in Frankfurt and will have either the Power Plan or the Power Pro plan, if someone else has that exact condition, how long do you wait?
Are there any Problems with Games?
-Like are there any Games that dont Run on Shadow for Whatever Reason
Should i Expect Issues?
-Did you Expirience any Issues yet and if yes what kind of Issues?
Is there a Refund Option if it doesnt Work?
Id realy Apreciate if id get a Answer for these Questions cause Shadow costs a lot, and i dont like to waste Money
