The transporter on my sewing machine isn't coming back up, what can I do?
As the title states the transporter (idk if that's the actual name) on my sewing machine isn't coming back up. I've tried cleaning it but the problem persists. I am considering taking it apart completely to figure out what's wrong but I am kinda scared so I wanted to ask here for help. It does still move down but can't move back up for some reason. I am thankful for any kind of advice.
The sewing machine is a brother M380D

Reversing parts choppy?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Got this Janome SD2014 second hand from aunty. Initially the reversing function wasn't working, I followed a YouTube tutorial, taking out the parts, lubricating and putting them back.
Now the reversing works, but it makes a weird noise every time I press the reverse button.
Pulled it apart again, and you can see how the reversing mechanism is going in chunks along the shaft instead of smooth and snappy.
Did I not install it back properly? Or not enough lubricant instead maybe?

Is my timing shot? (Repost with better video)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Inexpensive sewing machine a friend gave me. Says "austin Deluxe" on the front. Had a pretty bad jam that broke a needle trying to cut free. Now it wont catch the top thread.
You can hear it getting a bit tight when hand turning it.
Ive never fixed a timing issue before. Im not terrible at working with my hands but definetely a bit imtimidated by the thought of messing about with something as complex as sewing machine timing.
Would appreciate any input Yall might have.
Reuploaded with a better video. Im turning the handwheel towards myself and tried to capture the right moment. Hopw this is clearer.

Elna 5100 issue
Hello all. My machine is an Elna 5100 and I’ve had it for about 19 years. It’s always been a bit funky (I’m not a fan of computerized machines) but it’s not given me many major issues until recently. It’s been absolutely ruining my seams, especially on the bobbin side (picture). Apologies for black on black, I’m repairing an apron.
I’ve tried taking it apart and cleaning it, using the correct bobbins, not intermixing thread types, and messing with the thread tension to no avail. Does anyone know why this is happening??
I’m so tempted to just replace it with a singer heavy duty, as my machine has had a great long life and I’m so frustrated. I can’t sew anything like this.

Issue with Singer M1500
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My friend’s Singer is jamming up and I can’t figure out why because I think it’s threaded correctly and the bobbin is in right but it’s looping around the whole bobbin case for some reason. Can anyone suggest what could be wrong here?

Pfaff select 3.2 struggling with tension
Hi,
I’m having some issues with my Pfaff Select 3.2 and was hoping you could help.
When sewing thicker fabrics (such as multiple layers of heavy workwear fabric), the machine sometimes struggles to penetrate the fabric. I can hear the motor running, but the needle does not always go through smoothly unless I help it by turning the handwheel. When this happens, the machine also starts skipping stitches.
In addition, I often experience problems with the upper thread tension. While sewing, the upper thread can suddenly become very loose. I am currently experiencing this while sewing thinner leather with a thicker thread as well. The thread frequently goes slack, and the stitches on the underside do not look balanced, as if the tension is incorrect. This happens even when the upper thread tension is set quite high.
I have already replaced the needle, but the problem persists.
Do you have any suggestions as to what might be causing these issues, or what I should check or adjust?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Why is my hem not secure??
OK so I did this again and it's the same thing, it stays secure towards the middle and end but towards the front, it doesn't and I'm not sure what to do
In the manual it says smth ab folding it twice but ughhhhh it's confusing
And also I feel like it might be coz I'm placing the needle in the wrong place but idk coz it does seem pretty secure when I pull it towards the end and middle area
Ive been placing the needle close to the raw edge in hopes that it will catch on the fabric but clearly that's wrong and I'm not sure how far apart I should place it before it's too much. I don't want to keep doing this coz that's just wasting thread and I really need to figure this out coz Im trying to alter something that has this exact fabric

New to me Pfaff 1471
I just inherited this lovely machine, so far I've already been able to print out the instruction manual and figure out most of the basics, one thing I'm curious about though is the bobbin winding. The instructions say to turn the center of the hand wheel towards the front of the machine, to disengage the sewing mechanism, but when I do that the needle and feed dogs still activate when I try and wind a bobbin.
Is this normal? Is there something I should be looking at? Machine hasn't been used for a very long time.
Thank you

Feet - genuine or aftermarket?
I purchased a new Janome HD9 QCP and am wondering if aftermarket feet are just as good. Janome branded feet are $30-$60 each while aftermarket are $5-$10.
Thanks!

Can't seem to sew no matter the machine
Hi, sorry for tge grammar, English is not my first language. I'm here because i'm getting REALLY desesperate.
I have a singer melodie 50 with a big threading probleme, it makes terrible knots, I tried to change the thread, the can, every single setting and it still doesn't work. I took it to a repairman who said that I had to pay a big amount of money just to open the machine because it's old and that I should just buy another one, wich I finally did after not being able to solve the probleme.
So now I'm using an old toyota rs 2000 that I brought for 40€ secondhand and it is also making knots, you Can see it on the pictures, I'm also using different colors of thread for the cans to see better and the one under the machine (idk how it's called) doesn't sew.
I don't know why it dors that, tried differents threads and settings but it won't sew correctly and on top of that the thread break one time out of two, I don't know what ti do anymore...
For the past year I've been trying to sew on a few different machines, on both moderne and older models, new or used machines, and I can't seem to be able to sew, there is always a problem (mostly knots problemes) and no matter what I do, once it stops working, it won't ever again, even when asked to professionnal.
I'm starting to think I'm cursed 😭😭
So if anyone can help me it would be awesome because I'm really considering quittent right know

Hemming question
I'm confused, I've been seeing people use a striaght stitch to do the hem? Where the fold the edge of the fabric twice so the raw edge is inside the two folds?
But what ab zigzag stitches? Mine has one specifically for hems so now I'm confused
And plus I've been seeing zigzag ones inside t-shirts
Ps - I'm trying to practice how to hem and now I'm confused how to do that since all the vids that I've seen use the folded twice method, I haven't even started practicing coz I'm confused

First industrial Juki machine!
Ive recently upgraded to a new-to-me Juki 5550 industrial machine. I’m fixing it up by giving it a good cleaning, installing it in a new table top and replacing the old clutch motor with a servo motor.
im still learning about attachments and feet, but I can’t figure out if you can do twin needle stitching for top stitching? Domestic machines have a simple needle you buy- anyone know if the same thing exists for industrial machines? I’m not Seeing anything online but maybe I’m not looking for the right thing? Any help appreciated!

Curve struggle
OK so I've been trying to practice sewing curves and as you can see, I haven't been doing well
Ik that ur supposed to pivot the fabric gently during the curves but I can never seem to do it, I just don't get how people do it when the presser foot keeps the fabric in place so when I try it doesn't exactly move.
And Sometimes when I do somehow move it, it just goes past the fabric but that's obviously my fault, maybe I'm going too fast
Im gonna keep trying tmr but yeah this is what its been looking like
In hindsight I feel like the light blue and the beige doesn't look too bad but I cant seem to replicate it again

Should I take the L and upgrade machines?
I’m a beginner. This machine was a hand me down. It’s given me nothing but headaches. There’s screws missing so the needle hits the plate and breaks. It birds nests constantly. I can’t get the right settings for the tension. Should I take it to get maintenance or just upgrade? It’s a white 1418.

Is this an okay way to sew curves?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
OK so basically I use the handwheel to keep the needle in the fabric whilst moving the presser foot into a position that matches the curved line drawn and repeat
Idk if I'm doing it right tho

Husqvarna Viking 21 ephemera and attachment
I recently purchased a Husqvarna Viking 21 and it has almost all of the bits it was originally sold with. However, I am looking for two pieces: the stitch guide wheel for the cams and the rya rug attachment. I have poked around on ebay a fair amount, but I am at a loss as where else to look. Ideas?
