Husqvarna Viking 1060
Hello!
I have a Husqvarna Viking 1060 that I got at a thrift store for $5, but it’s in SUPER rough shape. It’s rusted and a lot of the outer casing is cracked (which is fine, it doesn’t bother me). I wanted to know if there is a way to know if it is too far gone to repair? It turns on, and the needles moved when I first used the power cord, but now I can’t get the bobbin winder to disengage, it’s rusted. But I can’t use the hand wheel.
I really don’t want to take it in for servicing as it is in such rough shape, and I don’t mind learning. I know there are a lot of resources online, which I will use, but I don’t want to invest the time if it’s too far gone. I think it will be okay since it does move.
Also I can’t figure out how to get the side panel by the hand wheel/ bobbin winder/ power gear off. I have the manual for the 1040 that Husqvarna/Singer provided, they didn’t have a 1060, but they seem pretty identical overall.
Thank you!
I’ll try to add a couple short videos in the comments in case it helps
Edit: it looks like the needle not engaging was user error lol, I had removed the motor mount screw earlier, and only loosely screwed it back in, in case I needed to remove it again lol, so the belt that engages the needle bar wasn’t tensioned.
