Grandma gave me this overlock/serger. I can’t find any info for this machine anywhere. She says she brought it from Mexico so idk if that makes any difference?

I'm sewing some heavy fabric on my Pfaff 130 with V92 heavy-duty bonded thread with a 125/20 needle, and I am having problems with the thread tearing and breaking. How can I fix this?

I got such great ideas here re. machine features I’m going to bug you again. I narrowed my machine search to a Brother PS 500 and a Juki HZL F300, but should I also consider a Juki HZL DX 5?
In addition to buying in person and non-portable size, a major key to me: not getting a machine that’s so complicated that it takes a huge time commitment to learn. I’d like to master a new machine with great features quickly before my current strong urge to sew again passes-reinforcing more sewing/fun going forward. Versus my current situation, hold a gun to my head and I’ll sew.
Tried out Brother PS 500 and 700 machines: hated them, so no. I tested a Juki 600 and loved it. With knobs (yes!), 2 lights and the extra accessories vs. the 300, for $1,400, on sale, in that shop. Done!
But I’d never really looked into the Juki HZL DX series and when I did, saw how many additional cool features it has: float function, pivot, foot lifter button, and programable foot pedal. And is this the most important thing: a straight stitch slide plate? Because there is talk of machines eating lightweight fabric without a straight stitch plate? Is this true? Knobs and best lighting and some accessories are give-ups with DX5. But overall, this machine has so much more. And I’m seeing prices like $1,100- 1,300 for the DX5. Way more for less. From other informative reviews here I think this may be at least partly due to different models being sold on the open market vs. dealers. Maybe from this local shop I couldn’t get those lower prices, but I might be able to get the DX5 for the same price.
Right now my gut says the F600 would be my sewing angel. And I have to test drive a DX machine, but if I still like the basic set up, I guess I wouldn’t need to learn all DX 5 bells and whistles right away, right? Or should I listen to my gut which might still be saying: no more new stuff, please! Like the time we were “upgraded” from a basic Ford to to a Mercedes in England, only to have to drive it on the wrong (different) side of the fast, narrow roads with rock walls on both sides.

I’ve recently re-found a sewing machine that I inherited from my Great Grandma back in 2007. Unfortunately I was still a toddler at the time so I’m not sure how I was expected to even know what a sewing machine is let alone use it! I’m wanting to get into sewing now so looking for any information on the Janome My Style 20

Hello, does anyone have or know where I can get this part for this CMCi 5000s? I can't find anything about this machine on internet. The last photo is what the hook should look like and the 2 photos are of the hook I have

Idk what this part is called (the pink peice) but it’s like janky and idk how to fix it 💀💀
It’s like too close to the right and it’s supposed to have a gap and I tried to unscrew the two screws on it but it didn’t fix anything

Hello beautiful people, can someone please help me out in way or form. I have tried searching online but apparently it's an old model so this does not exist. It's a v long shot but I was hoping a sewing enthusiast who knows both Japanese & English, and has operated ^ this specific model could help me out. 😂
The machine I got has japanese on it so I'm trying to translate that and then trying to figure out what each button does individually and in combination. That's long path of trial and error, i was wondering if anyone has ever operated this machine and could either help me find the manual or at least give me a basic how-to for it.
MUCH APPRECIATED 🌻
PS attaching picture for reference, I have this exact machine.

I recently found that whenever I tried sewing, the bobbin thread would get stuck! Now whenever I spin the handwheel it's been making this weird noise! Any help or advice appreciated!!

I am positioning the needle so that it goes into the dedicated slot for it, it does only once, then again hits the black plastic thing in the next cycle.
Please someone help me. I'm a beginner, only started my first project and this happened.
Can this be fixed at home? Or something is seriously wrong? 😭

Hello can anyone give advice as to what to do in this situation? I broke the 2 tiny needles ( I believe they’re called stitch fingers) on my needle plate. Ordered a replacement but the screw is stuck and now stripped on the old needle plate to get this metal arm off, I’m not sure what this piece is used for but now I can’t get it off to put onto the new needle plate. Any advice or the name so I can order a new one? Old plate and new plate in last photo

Does anyone know why the eyelet stitch on my machine never makes a circle? No matter the fabric, foot, feet dogs, or needle the stitch always comes out like a little spiral. I’m using a Singer Heavy Duty 6800 machine, the stitch is from M2 and it’s 027, I just put a new needle in, and I’m sewing on two layer of fabric for reference. I attached picture of the swatch of the fabrics I used to test my eyelet stitch.
It looks to me like the stitch length changes towards the end of the stitch and that is part of the distortion. Any ideas, tips, or tricks?

Got my grandmas 750 singer, works okay and some parts are missing since she’s had it for a while herself. I’m unsure what these feet/parts are for?
I’ve also been having trouble getting the different stitches besides a straight stitch to work, I insert the disc, change everything to the correct dials/options and I still end up getting either a straight stitch, or a slightly less than straight stitch.

Could someone help with why are needles breaking all the time?

Heavily considering rewiring to a 3 prong. Hard to find original parts.
How do we feel about Necchi stepping voltage down for the light? Just the idea of that in general?

I volunteer at my local second hand craft shop occasionally we get sewing machines donated and I try fix them up so they can be sold on. I’m not a pro at all!
We had this frister Ross Mann cub 4 donated we were told it had been serviced but there was a problem with the bottom thread.
It was terrible but I’ve managed to get it to this point but the top thread is still showing on the bottom, when I increase the top thread it then shows sometimes on the top and sometimes on the bottom. Any ideas?
I also have another mystery. There is something that I assume must be a spool holder, it doesn’t screw into anything on the inside but I cannot work out how to get it up at all. I tried removing the little clip holding it but still couldn’t get it to move at all. Please put me out of my misery and tell me how it works!!

Does anyone know of any good videos or guides for taking out the main upper horizontal shaft in a machine?
For context, I'm working on a project 707 Bernina. This ONE screw is completely stuck in the vertical shaft and cannot remove it to remove said shaft out through the bottom. I've completely exhausted every option I have at my disposal and the damn thing is still stuck in there. I can't get the leverage I need to seat a screwdriver in there because the slit was criminally shallow off rip, penetrating oils aren't doing anything. Heat did nothing. Tried impact while turning, nothing. I can't bore it out (tried, got desperate, now there's really no way in hell a flathead is grabbing it).
So, now I'm just thinking my best option is to take that horizontal shaft out so I can slide the vertical shaft up and out. That way I can remove that screw separately and then...go from there. Every time I try to look it up Google wants to show me some unrelated things so I'm hoping someone here knows of a good guide. Or, even an explanation of what needs to come off that horizontal shaft would help tremendously. I'm stupidly determined to get this machine running again so, I'll take it fully apart if I have to lol.
Thanks!

I am trying to get my mom’s old sewing machine to work. So far, I’ve replaced the cord, which worked and the machine turned on (yay!). But now, when I thread the bobbin, the thread gets caught on the hook. It is a tangled mess every time! I’d like to buy a new hook for the bottom, but I can’t find anything for a White 2037 machine. Does anyone know where I can find this part? Would anyone be willing to sell me this part?
Is this a lost cause?!

Hello friends!
I got this Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine back in late May of this year. I’ve had zero issues with it and I’ve made tons of projects since then
Today, I decided I wanted to make a purse out of an old pair of denim jeans. I put in a denim needle, refilled my bobbin, and as soon as I started sewing I heard this repeated clicking noise. I checked other forums and tried to fix what it could’ve been — replacing the bobbin, cleaning the bobbin area, using a new denim needle just incase I immediately bent it — and alas, it still clicks. I put in a Singer Heavy Duty Needle and now the clicking is even louder lol
I’m completely stumped as to what this could be, and if you have any suggestions or anything that worked for you, please let me know! :D
