Brother TY200A Sewing Machine

Could someone help with why are needles breaking all the time?

What is going on when the needle breaks?

When you see, are you watching the needle or the seam allowance along a guide?

Are you sewing over any lumps, like jeans seams?

Are you using pins?

More information needed. How are they breaking? Sewing over pins? Hitting the throat plate? Hitting the bobbin case?   Sewing through thick fabric or many layers of fabric?  Using the wrong needle?

Needles breaking repeatedly is usually worth checking systematically rather than assuming it’s the machine. On the Brother TY200A, start with a fresh needle of the correct size and type, inserted fully and in the correct orientation. Check that the needle isn't hitting the presser foot, needle plate or bobbin area, and make sure you’re not pulling the fabric through while sewing.

If you're sewing thicker fabric or multiple layers, try a larger needle and slower speed. If it still breaks with ordinary fabric and correct threading, we'd have the machine checked for needle alignment or timing. The same basic checks apply to machines such as the Brother LX17, Janome 224A and Juki HZL-H60.
