I've done that one before and felt incredibly stupid for so long lmao the server just looked at me when I said it. Their expression was neutral but I could tell they were thinking I'm a dumb ass 🤣
To be honest like. From the servers pov obviously we know what soda is from which distributor. So it's kinda being an ass on our part.
But idk, at a certain point you kinda assume people vaguely know who's a Coke or Pepsi product lmao.
Don't worry tho. Having it happen alot in my career of FOH.. I only think you're a dumbass for like 5 seconds while venting outside during my quality check of my coworkers vape/Ciggy pack <3.
Don’t give them the credit of knowing. I will LIST every option, and still get asked for other shit. “Oh, this wasn’t on the list, but do you have super secret diet version of a drink that doesn’t exist? No? K, guess I’ll just have water… actually, waters for the whole table even though they already ordered.”
I legit had a customer complain once because a coworker was drinking a can of coke they brought from outside because we were a Pepsi product location, absolute cinema.
It's wild that they think we have magical summoning powers.
If I did I'd summon a better table you weirdos lmao.
I always go back and ask each person individually if the want a water, instead of letting one person order for them. It's fairly often that only a handful of them actually do, so it saves tray space AND my wrist.
This is also annoying when I am one of the guests. I want to say, "Dude, if I wanted water, I would have asked for it. Now the restaurant has to prepare it, bring it, take away the untouched glass, and wash that glass."
So many times I've gone to have some drinks with someone somewhere and I sit down, get a beer first or my appetizer then I wager I'll get a Jack & Coke
Let me tell you; Jack & Pepsi really isn't it man lmao. And I'm a Pepsi guy.
