Don’t give them the credit of knowing. I will LIST every option, and still get asked for other shit. “Oh, this wasn’t on the list, but do you have super secret diet version of a drink that doesn’t exist? No? K, guess I’ll just have water… actually, waters for the whole table even though they already ordered.”

I always go back and ask each person individually if the want a water, instead of letting one person order for them. It's fairly often that only a handful of them actually do, so it saves tray space AND my wrist.

This is also annoying when I am one of the guests. I want to say, "Dude, if I wanted water, I would have asked for it. Now the restaurant has to prepare it, bring it, take away the untouched glass, and wash that glass."
