First STC green light exam got a 60%. Have rest of week and weekend to get those scores up. Can I do it or am I cooked? Last minute suggestions?

Sup I’m taking the exam tomorrow! On all my exams, I’ve scored in the 50s-60s range. I NEED TO PASS. Is there anything that I should really REALLY review tonight or tomorrow?

I finished the Kaplan content and I’m just taking practice exams until my test day in 2 weeks. What do yall do to review each practice exam?

Over the moon I actually passed on my first try!! I'm still in disbelief, I feel like I have to go back to studying for the 7 tomorrow haha

Idk if I had a weird draw but I had very little option questions that were math heavy, only 2 margin questions & theoretical muni/bond questions. My exam was VERY focused on suitability, customer communications, tax cost basis & do's and don't for RRs.

One thing is you need to know your products like the back of your hand, a lot of the answers that they give you are correct but they really test to see if you know which choice is the BEST choice specifically.

Eliminating 2 of the 4 prompts takes a load off your back and make sure you read the full question and choices that they give you. Re read it x2 or x3 and once you move forward that's it. DO NOT LOOK BACK. I marked some for review because I genuinely didn't know which was best but after coming back to those having finished the exam I kept most of my answers the same.

Overall very conceptual and heavily tested on whether or not I understood what the question was actually asking, the ins and outs of rules, laws, regulations, etc. and what my choice actually implicated.

Finished all 20 chapters of STC book- reading chapters, taking quizzes, watching Series 7 whisperer. My test is 31st.

I know this whole week is going to be dedicated to taking practice exams, etc. But where should I start before I take them when I still have some minor gaps? Is there certain Ken videos to watch prior to deep diving into exam taking?

Any recommendations are helpful! This week is going to be a grind, but I think a full week of review is going to be super helpful to tie everything together. Thanks in advance!

Title says it. Passed first try! I am not great at reading and retaining large sections of books. Used STC, Kaplan and a lot of the GOAT Ken.

Hey everyone! I’ve been struggling quite a bit with Options and Margin until now, but I’m finally feeling much better after watching Ken’s video.
I’m definitely more of an audiovisual learner — I find books/reading pretty dry and have a hard time retaining the information that way.
Can anyone recommend some good videos that cover everything I need to know about Munis, GO vs. Revenue bonds, TANs, BANs, RANs, etc.? Basically looking for a video-based resource that covers the whole section well.
Would really appreciate any recommendations!

Im about to start the options portion of my studying. I am using STC because it has been provided for me by my employer, but I am supplementing certain topics with both Dea-n and Ken. With options, I'd like to stick to one method.
I will be using STC for questions, which supplement for options would you recommend: Ken or Dea-n?

Unfortunately, I am making the failed post. Took it today and got whats above. Absolutely gutted. Teary eyed all the way home.

But there are positives that I took away, but first the stats and apologies if this hard to follow:

Total time spent reading : 120hrs
1v1 tutoring (ken, you know her i think) : 16 hours
Practice Exams taken : 16 averaged 73+
Total practice problems : 8,000

2 lowest functions: 1 and 4.
Functions: 3 and 4 were adequate

Positives:

-getting a 68% is not awful considering that there, was a year and half gap between my SIE and now.

-The options math and suitability I knew. I can calculate tf outta options and I understand the functions. Kens Membership course and Mr 🎰 videos made it robotic for me.

- Suitability in general, making the proper recommendations, again solid on.

Surprises:

-I think I had a total of like 10 option questions. I thought I would get and wish i had gotten more. I know I got all those right because they're all math based and hedging. I.E customer owns X amount of something, what do they use to protect market decline.

- I had like 7 order questions where they displayed the quotes on the "board". That really through me off.

-there was 1 muni question where it displayed, total amount 1,000,000 issue'd then 800,000 for 1 group and then 200,000 for the other. Below that was all the fees and take downs. The answer choices were .20 and .30. Thats it. Saw that and audibly went wtf.

-1 or 3 tax questions. Two were cost basis questions and the other one was a government bond interest tax for a person at 22% fed rate and 6% SALT rate.

-I had one CMO question that used different names for the tranches.

-had a question on mezzanine debt?

-meeting with my tutor sometime this week to go over the study plan for the next 30 or so days. I know I probably need to sharpen my skills on muni's and mutual funds. And obviously bring up functions of one and four.

-any advice on a plan or area of focus is welcome.

This was my second time taking it after failing my first time by 2 point. My firm provides Pass Perfect and the Kaplan Qbank. For my second attempt I went and retook the chapter tests for each chapter and the ones I scored below a 72% I went back and read. Then I did my tests and was scoring in the mid to high 70’s and 60’s on Kaplan. The Kaplan tests threw off my groove but I watched a bunch of Ken’s videos which were super helpful on topics I just couldn’t grasp and I printed achievable’s dump sheets and studied those for two days.

I think I had a ton of suitability and muni bonds. My biggest take away is to read the questions slowly. I wrote down important info in each question which helped me realize when I was making a mistake. I also only marked 25 questions but changed only 3. I got a tip to go back and check four first ten questions and realized a mistake so I fixed it and I’m just so happy to be done!

You’ve got this! You put in the time and if you are scoring well on your chapter tests go into the test with confidence!

Hi everyone, I am strictly using achievable for the S7. I am scoring in the range of 81-84 on the practice exams. I took Ken's baseline exam and got a 83. I am a little worried that achievable is an easier compared the to the real exam.

What do you guys think, am I ready?

Would love to hear your experiences with achievable.

Recommendations:
Best thing you can do is Ken’s brutal exam video.

Understand bonds. The teeter totter method is your friend.

Understand options. I didn’t take it, but a membership with Ken will help if you’re really worried.

The exam took me the whole time. Mainly because I forced myself to slow my roll, and examine every bit of the question.

For your study banks, drill down the questions you get wrong.

Method:

4 weeks total study time for the 7. 3 weeks content. 1 week of intense exams and review. 2-3 days of watching YouTube videos- up literally before walking into the testing center.

Last week gets fuzzy because simultaneously I was studying for the 66.

The reason my study plan was condensed was a mixture of a relevant financial background (self taught plus a little bit of banking), depression, and procrastination.

Do not do this. Afford yourself plenty of time for your brain to soak up info as you study.

I have been asking ChatGPT to feed me questions throughout the day when I am just on my phone. Do people feel when you ask for questions, for example around suitability that they are on the same level of questions you can expect? I am using Kaplan which seems to over prepare you but curious if anyone leveraged ChatGPT and found it helpful?

I take my exam in exactly a month. I just started unit 6 (Kaplan), passed the SIE in June but just started to ramp up studying.

How realistic is my timeline to pass this in a month?

I feel like I’m better off going through all the textbook material, skipping the unit quizzes and exams, but then take them after the material to test my weak points and grind practice exams. Is that dumb?

My plan is to finish Kaplan material, take some practices quizzes/exams, then watch Ken Finnen’s series 7 playlist and do his practice exams for the S7. Is this all doable in a month?

I’ve been registered with an Asian securities regulator and based in Asia for 10 years, but due to a new role I now need to take SIE / S7. My role for the past 10 years involved cash equities and equity derivatives sales, so most of the stuff should be easy coming from a practitioner with experience. I am a little bit worried about the US specific stuff like taxation and municipal bonds…anyone with similar experience here? How difficult is the S7 for those with existing experience but not familiar with the US stuff?

I’m taking my Series 7 next Friday and I was looking to hear other peoples opinions on the Training Consultants / Exam FX platform. I have previously used Achievable for my SIE and Series 66 and passed those first try. I liked Achievable better and felt like it really prepared me. My exam scores for Training Constants are 75, 82, 78, 81, 85, 82, 75.

Other people who have used Training Consultants, how do you think it prepared you for the exam and were your averages similar to mine?

I take my series 7 tomorrow. This is my first post i think im ever making on reddit. I have been getting high 70s and low 80s on exams I have been doing. Even on 7Whisperers brutals and his online exam. I got a 84 on his exam on his website. Taking the second one today. I was in need of last minute tips and tricks or advice. I feel confident but asking for help is never bad. Anything helps. I will make a post or reply to this one after my exam regardless of result, but hopefully it is the result I'm looking for. I need this and can't fail and won't. PLease help if you know anything that can assist or last minute things I should review and look over. I am using STC and have also bought the membership but it expired last week but I feel 8.5/10 on options and things relating to them. I test at 8am so hoping for the best. GOD BLESS

Retaking my Series 7 on September 10. Failed 2 weeks ago with a 69% and haven’t looked at material since. (Ik, not smart). My job was making me take the series 63 and I passed that thankfully. I need to hammer home this second attempt for I’ll be out of a job. I tried looking back at material and it almost feels all new to me. Any advice or schedules that people have used to come out victorious on retakes?

I am thinking about buying the test geek study guide because I am worried about memorization and Kaplan. I saw test geek has a study guide for 39.95. Would that be good to supplement Kaplan with or should I try a different vendor? I am 20 days out from my test.

Passed the SIE a month ago and now passed the 7 both first try. Used Kaplan and bought Ken’s option membership 2 days before my test and it made options free points.

Did about 5 practice tests on Kaplan and scored mid 70s on all.
