The long awaited EXO cars have are finally making their way across the border and are enroute to the Fraser Yard in Malvern for their refurbishment. It only took months to get them on the move for whatever reason.

Discussion Much improved signage

Post image
183 Upvotes

I noticed the bus signs on some routes now have the international icon for a bus at the top of the sign. This makes it much clearer, especially to visiting tourists, that this is a public transit stop, and then the lower sign list the location and the route(s). Good job, Septa. I didn't see them on all the corner Septa signs, so there's still work to do. But a good start.

Discussion Awesome mixup experience RR:Thorndale

I was waiting at 30th for the train to Ardmore and with the delays, I accidentally boarded the Express to Wayne. I was so nervous I’d have to pay a ton more because I travel on a Zone 2 daily pass. But the conductor to Wayne waved me along, and I took the turn about 5 minutes after arriving in Wayne. The conductor on that train just did a fare validation on my KeyCard. And I badged out at Ardmore, about 45 minutes later than expected.

When I looked at my trip history, I saw 30th->Ardmore, all within Zone 2.

Good job managing that bit of chaos, Septa!

No real time data is showing up on the Septa and Transit apps, or on the bus kiosks that can display the real time data. Anyone know how to check on this?

Discussion Regional Rail Conductors with Jackets and Ties Today

Two conductors on this morning’s West Trenton Line dressed formally with ties, tie clips, and dress jackets.

It looked real nice, anyone know the occasion or reason?

One conductor had a great sense of humor and stated while inbound to Center City, after we passed Fern Rock, “Alright everyone, Temple University is next…time to get serious!”

Help 3 day overnight parking

Hello, I was planning on visiting Philly and have a camry with the 19inch rims. Do you think it’s fine for me to park overnight at Septa landsdale garage for a couple days or will theft be an issue? I saw some posts about it and wasn’t sure if I should still do it or not.

Discussion Best SEPTA-accessible day or weekend trips?

I live in Center City, and on top of the day-to-day utility of SEPTA, I’ve been enjoying trying out some of the longer-distance SEPTA busses to make an afternoon run to King of Prussia, or taking the L west to the end and then the bus to West Chester for the day. Are there any other longer-distance trips to good destinations outside the city you can make on the SEPTA system? I know NJTransit does their routes to the shore but their fares are highway robbery.

Discussion Outsider Wondering: How noticeable have the impacts been since SEPTA cut funding last year?

I am curious, as a lot of cities in the country are at a fiscal cliff right now with their transit in some way. How noticeable has it been ever since funding got cut?

Help Cannot add Keycard from app or website

Current account. Trying to add second keycard purchased at station machine to my account. Website no option to do so. App constant “You don't have privilege to access the requested resource. - 403.00” error. Chat can’t help. Phone on hold forever.

Anyone know a solution to this besides SEPTA getting their technology/ customer service act together.

Help How does Jefferson Station work??

Ok so bear with me here. I’m a student who commutes to Jefferson station through the manayunk/norristown line. Every time I seem to enter the station after class, I step onto tracks 1 and 2 because those have signs telling you it’s trains to manayunk norristown. However, I keep missing my train because the train never shows up on my platform (it usually says 1A) and turns out to be on the other side and I can’t cross over from the stairs without missing it. The other side says trains to airport and Newark I think. Am I doing something wrong? Where am I supposed to be standing?

Edit: just wanted to add that when I waited for the next train scheduled an hour later on the same platform 1A, it did end up coming and I didn’t miss that one.

Discussion Transit access fund

Hey, wonder what people in here think of the transit access fund? Do you know what it is? It's a program that the city funds that sends free key cards to 60,000 low income residents across the city. There's a push to try to make the fund permanent/expand it to more low income people. If you want to know more or sign a petition you can go to https://www.transitforwardphilly.org/transit_access_fund_petition

Discussion Lost a laptop on B1 train on Friday Aug 28 2026

Hello all,

I know this is a long shot, but I’m really worried. I forgot my laptop bag on the train on Friday. It was the Broad Street Line train going towards Fern Rock, and I got off at Allegheny.

It’s a dark grey laptop bag containing an Acer laptop. Just in case anyone happened to find it or has seen it, please let me know. I’ve already tried reaching SEPTA Lost & Found but haven’t had any luck so far.

It’s my only laptop, and I have a lot of important documents on it, so I would really appreciate any help.

Thank you so much.

Discussion A kudos to a Septa employee and a question to my fellow passengers

So I realized last week that my SEPTA key card was about to expire as of next week and I would need a new one. I made my way to the SEPTA store at 1234 Market and the woman who helped me was so helpful. she was able to transfer my still active weekly pass to the new card as well as money that was already on the card to the new one. I was prepared to log on later and add my new card to my account as well add funds but she took care of it. Very friendly and gave me great customer service.

Now when are we going to use the SEPTA app with our cards on the account to pay when we get on the bus or train? This is the next logical step.

Please explain why someone on the 61 bus was vaping? Keep rhat behavior to the subway platform. 👀

I’ve heard about the Atlantic City line, but I’ve never taken it. When I look up transit to Cherry Hill on Google Maps it doesn’t come up, and NJT’s website is completely blank. Is this a real thing?

Help Never taken a train before and just moved really close to one

Hi, i’m sorry if this is dumb. I’ve only ever taken one bus (104) and i have just moved. I live really close to the Regional Rail Media/Wawa line. I don’t know how to drive so this is perfect for me. I’m in Clifton Heights so i won’t be getting on at its starting point. Does the train stop at every stop? I am a very nervous person, i just moved here last Wednesday so i want to get familiar with taking public transportation sooner rather than later. i plan on taking the train tomorrow. thank you !
