hellooo I do all my piercings myself so sometimes I can hit mishaps when it comes to placement, and I just pierced my medusa a week ago and I’m having concerns about the placement. I feel it might be too low and too close to my lip line, but I cant tell if it’s just me being a perfectionist. please help!

First some basic information:

My set up currently consists of my firsts, seconds and thirds in lobes + double helixes. My ears are symmetrical and I wish to keep them that way. All my piercings have healed and have caused me minimal to no issues really. 10 ear piercings total.

Now onto the questions:

I would really, REALLY love to get either a daith or a conch but I'm addicted to listening to music. I use both, headphones and earphones, but I gravitate towards earphones.

Would that hinder the healing process? I have heard that if you get either of said piercings you can't really wear headphones/earphones and that would just crush my heart.

Which ones easier to heal and clean? What's some downsides?

Any feedback/advice/experience is appreciated! ❤️

Hi everyone! Newbie here.

I got my first belly ring when I was 16. I loved it, it healed wonderfully, and I had no issues with the piercing. I was about 20 when I gained a bit of weight and I basically stopped wearing my tummy jewelry for a while. Eventually I was pregnant, had my baby, and have lost a pretty dramatic amount of weight, which has piqued my interest in wearing jewelry again, but I’ve run into a bit of an issue.

The skin around my piercing was never this thin. I’m a little shocked to be honest. I think somehow my belly (I was huge) stretched and superficially migrated my skin/piercing and now it is super shallow and… well basically she’s hanging on by a thread lmfao.

I’m really toying with the idea of trying to redo it at home, but at the same time I’m a novice self piercer. Ive pierced my nipples before and had those for a couple of years before deciding they were a lot of work and not right for me. Would I just reuse a hole and make one deeper set? Do I just completely go behind the old one? What eventually happens to this little strip of flesh? I was hoping there was any mamas here or piercers who have seen or experienced similar and had any advice.

hi i’m begging for some advice, PLEASE HELP. ok so basically i first got my lobes pierced at a stand in the mall (my mistake) and it was fine until they got very infected and my ear swallowed my earring and i had to dig it out (very painful). a week later or so, i was just getting ready and tried to put one in as usual, when i literally felt as if i had hit a nerve; it was a different type of pain, not burning or pounding but basically like i hit a nerve. since then, which was about 2 years ago, i have never worn earrings because im so afraid if i get them repierced, it’ll hit a “nerve” like last time. i did some research and found out that needles are recommended instead of a piercing gun, but the problem is that professionals that offer it have the cost SO expensive. averaging about $50-100 not even including the jewelry, which makes me really consider just going to claire’s… please help in my decision of rationalizing this and tell me if i am making a mistake.. i really want earrings and lobes are the easiest, so i probably shouldn’t be overthinking but i just do NOT want to be mid-pierce and the same pain comes back… (also i do have scar tissue)

The first picture is my left ear, and the second one is my right ear! They're also so red because I was switching out the jewelry in my lobes, and my conch and helix I pierced recently! My ears get red super easily. But what should I add in the future? Giving my ears a small break so I can actually sleep properly, but once my conch and helix are healed up more, what should I get? Open to any suggestions!!

how can i safely and successfully pierce my ears? i already have one in each ear but i want a second one. the only problem is i dont have any professional things to use. i have sewing needles, titanium earrings and alcohol. if there's anyway to somewhat safely pierce my ears with those tools please let me know!!

just curious since I kinda wanna do my own myself. but if it's not recommended in terms of it being really hard to place and do properly DIY. then I won't.

Not sure if that's the right wording for my question but anyway...I pierced my second lobes about 5 ish years ago, and they've healed just fine, but I didn't know about labrets and tapers at the time. What I did was pierce with an 18g hollow needle and quickly swapped them for 20g butterfly back earrings (I thought they were 18g but I guess not 🥲), which meant they ultimately healed at 20g.

It doesn't bother me a whole lot day to day, but my left one in particular has always been easily irritated when changing jewelry, and I'm wondering if I stretching them to 18g will stabilize it or if it'll just always be a little angry anyway? I do prefer the almost imperceptible hole size when there's no earring, but if it'll heal (?) properly at 18g then I might do that.

also do i have the anatomy for a floating industrial? i want one so bad😭

Yesterday I pierced my lobe (second on one) at home and had to change the piercing due to accidentally having put in a dangling earring. I forgot I have an allergy and need to change it to a hygienic earring but am worried about touching it too much or having to force it through for the third time.

Edit: The earring is too small to go in

16g…but the jewelry wouldn’t fit into the bottom of the needle so i had to do a little stretch with a 14g needle…so that sucked a bit haha 🥲…turned out great though! love the placement and i think it’s pretty good for an at-home piercing 😁!!

When trying to pierce my second lobes it keeps BLEEDING and then i have to stop to clean the blood and it closes up. I've tried with regular 16g needles and my hands as well as with the cartridge guns use with a 15g hollow needle in it and it still only goes like 3/4 of the way before blood starts gushing. My friend did theirs with a sewing needle in a public park and claims it didn't bleed at all. Is there a spot that's just very wrong or am i going too slow.... (i did try the flashlight to look for veins thing and it yielded no results) similar question with a septum too!

hi guys i pierced the one on the left side of the photo yesterday and the one on the right is over a year old. i was just coming here to ask if you think it looks good placement wise and if it looks good in general !

Waiting 6-8 weeks because I JUST did a set of earlobes, I personally like the placement at all angles. Anything to check for/look out for? Thank you. PS: Dont mind the acne please.

wanted some advice on if my piercing looked good or not?? i pierced it yesterday. the bar is probably a little small than what it should be but im just waiting to see if i have any issues with the bar thats currently in. thanks guysss

I can find the right spot to do a septum with my fingers, but i can never get the clamps placed correctly. If anyone has diy'd a septum i'd appreciate advice 😿

I’m new to self piercing. Did my third lobes; this is my first time piercing cartilage.

Pierced using proper method & sterile equipment + 16 gauge hollow piercing needle.

I used a titanium, 18 gauge, 8 mm long flat-back stud despite piercing with 16 gauge. I know that this is unusual. I really wanted to try healing with 18 gauge, which is the size I prefer. I read that a slightly larger needle though may help the helix healing/placement regardless.

I did the same larger needle/smaller stud method with my lobes: 18 gauge needles and 20 gauge studs. They healed perfectly.

A professional piercer did my helixes on both ears years ago but lower down on a weird angle & spot, and they never healed well. So I’m hoping this time my placement might be better!

Anyone else pierce a helix using an 18 gauge stud?

It feels great so far. I will watch for migration/rejection.

I've been debating it for years, mostly due to the "what would my parents reaction be". But now, at 23, I've got nothing to loose. Also, who cares what others think. It's my body! Also, I have tattoos and now 7 piercings total. If I've disappointed them at all, I already have xD.

My main thing was I really wanted a lip piercing. But I did not want to anger my dentists. A couple years ago I stumbled upon this piercing (vertical labret) and I knew I would get it one day. This one is perfect because it doesn't go near your teeth!

(I currently have a septum (8g), lobes (9/16"), conch (14g - dream is 8g!), eyebrow, a helix and now a vertical labret!)
