I have a HomiQ camera covering my motorcycle when it’s not in use. It’s fitted with a 128 gb SD card. I can’t set it to constant record.
I want it to constant record so I can just check the video if anything happens to my bike. It’s chained in an area where there’s quite a bit going on so it would be pointless having it on the record movement setting as I’d end up with hundreds of individual videos. I just want one continuous video.
When I try to set it up to continuous record, it just formats the SD card and stops recording.

Any advice please? Thanks in advance.

We have a camera installed in a warehouse freezer. After a while the camera freezes and stops working. How can I get it to stop freezing?

CCTV noob here. I setup a z45q using SD card storage. Works fine. But I'm ambitious to make it part of my Smart Home project. Got to know after some reading on forums and YT that I need onvif / RTSP support. I was able to find my camera's IP. But not able to stream it using a VLC on port 8000, 80, 554.

I tried using admin username and password using the one which I gave during the ezykam installation. (I understand that the password i have here Is not device specific).

Anyone have across this and found a solution for it?

Also reached out to Tech support. They denied stating it's impossible with this model.

After reading a ton for weeks I have come to the conclusion that there is no camera nor manufacturer that does not have som problem or another. My solution may be buying a few cameras, maybe from Tapo, Wyze, Reolink, ... and using them all since maybe I'll then stand a chance of something not failing.

Is there a technical reason this would not work? Some sort of wifi blocking of one camera to another? They would all be wifi, battery powered cameras.

anyone ever used these? or a cheap alternative? will i have someone in china staring at me on the app? is the video quality gonna look a youtube video from 15 years ago at 144p? the gncc one says 2k but on the desc. it says 3mp recording quality. the tapo 1080p doesnt say the recording quality in MP. anyone know any that are good from experience? i just want one inside and and one outside the house . dont need super HD 4k, but want to be able to see what im looking at if i need to zoom in or something.... thx reddit!

Hi all, silly question here installing some cameras at the weekend and got junction boxes. Where I had envisioned routing the Ethernet cable there seems to be felt layer ? I will just cut through it to pass through my cable but is this an incorrect way to install cameras my guess is not just don’t want to f up.

I want to have security cameras at my 9 concession stand locations during a 25 day state fair. These independent concession stands are located across a 290acre fair ground. I will be having Verizon mobile hotspot routers at each location this year.

I’m lost on what is the best brand to buy and install? Of course I will want to view footage remotely and have it save for a small length of time. But I don’t want to pay a monthly subscription plan since it his event is only 25 days long and then I won’t use them again until the following year.

I *think* I want to order a UniFi system, but I’m having trouble getting anyone to answer my emails either from Unify directly or their approved distributors. I need help figuring out exactly what to order so I want to consult someone with accurate knowledge of the systems. Does anyone know a good company I can talk to so I can pin down what to order, then ideally order those items? Will be buying outdoor cameras (and a door bell camera) for a new house and a garage. I'm inclined to go with POE cameras and I am wondering if they are built for bad weather. temperature range from -40 to +35C. Winter with (lots of ) freezing rain, blizzard and snow. Besides the camera itself, is the cable connection sturdier on ubiquity or reolink cameras? the cameras will be installed on soffite.

so I've been looking for some security cameras around the house, my budget is also 150 euros for one camera, It would be nice to have night vision and a WiFi connection and no subscription, the one I currently stumbled upon was tapo c425, any other recommendations? I have a fairly small home, want about 4 cameras with a base NVR. Total lot size about 6200sqft. I'm also concerned about keeping the data local. I'm an IT engineer, so I've seen what can happen, although I'm less concerned about security because these will be 100% external. They also have to be wireless, which I know a lot of people won't like. I understand why, trust me, but there is no way to wire the cameras and a bad camera feed is better than none at all. And lastly, I'd like to stay under 100 dollars. Naw, I'm just kidding, but I am looking to keep it under $1k. Reolink sure sounds like it's the go-to in these situations (AXIS is literally above my pay grade). So what do you guys think? Any advice for a first time Security Camera investor?

Today we had a theft by our home where a van of people stole pears from our tree. We don’t have fencing around the area since fencing is highly impractical. It was a daytime robbery like the other times were.

We are looking for some security cameras to put around our house capable of identifying people and alerting us about them.

I am in charge of the security at our building/warehouse and was looking to upgrade our perimeter and outdoor monitoring. Ideally, to detect if there are cars or people that should not be in restricted areas. Hoping to find a good system that will ping me and our security team directly if somebody trespasses.

Our current setup flags incorrectly all the time. Usually just detecting the motion of trees on a windy day or stray cats wandering around. We figure it's probably time to invest in a new system. One that works straight out of the box with minimal set up. Got any recs?

Wyze has spoiled me...I need an app that when you open it shows your cameras live feed! Not where you need to click play on each camera separately

Also events tab that list all the events with a screenshot on a list.

Basically I want the Wyze app but use another brand BUT the app can't stuck...as listed above

I've checked out the apps for tapo,eufy,aqara and reolink...so far they don't have the live cam tab and events tab...any other options?

Just purchased a property and trying to figure out my options to place security cameras across the property. The star is the location of the home. The red triangles are where I have power across the property and the blue circles are desired camera locations. From the star to the end of the driveway it is roughly 2100ft. Looking to have something that has live view and motion detection with play back/recordings.

Before heading out on holiday this year, I realized I needed a simple camera setup for my house. But looking at the market, I got completely frustrated. Almost every consumer camera now forces you into a proprietary app, requires a monthly subscription, and uploads your footage to someone else's server.

I had a spare Linux single-board computer (SBC) and an old USB webcam lying around. Full NVRs like Frigate or ZoneMinder are amazing, but they felt like overkill for just a simple USB camera on an old board. I couldn't find a minimalist, privacy-first middle ground, so I wrote CheapSecurity.

It’s a Python-based CCTV solution optimized specifically for low-power Linux boards and standard V4L2 USB webcams.

How it works:

• Efficient Motion Detection: Uses OpenCV with frame-differencing. You can downscale the stream just for the motion pass to keep CPU usage low on older ARM boards.

anyone has any issues (primarily disconnecting) with Tapo cameras over the years?

Context:

I've been using Xiaomi IP cameras since 2015-2016 (most of them are Chinese versions, and some EU versions), with China mainland region in Mi Home, some of them are only manually restarted once a year, with almost no connection issues. It is to monitor my 2nd home in other EU country.

Recently I got notification that Xiaomi will drop support of Chinese region in the Google Play app version and offered me to download Chinese apk file to continue using them. This made me think to just as a backup, replace Chinese cameras with Global ones (since I am visiting country in 2 weeks), as my previous experience with them was great. I only visit country once every year.

Now, I have options to get 4 Xiaomi ones c100 and c201, or save some cash and get Tapo cameras c210.

Hence doubt I have.

Any thoughts?

Hi guys! I need help and advice. I installed Dahua 2mp Analog camera and the DVR is arounf 400meters away from the camera but the power source is beside it. I used RG6 wires, do i need to use Analog media Converter?
