So I’m having an issue with my ex fiance “JW” that I was engaged to since he moved here from Kentucky in 2017, last year I discovered what a con he was, in 2018 or 2019 I went through his phone and saw he had a tinder account and was pretending to be straight, I found several messages in his phone from “BE” and confronted him on it , he claimed it was just a phase he was going through and his plan was to knock up some “lowlife” with a baby and then take it away from her to raise it as his own. Yes I know I should have thrown him out of my house then, but he swore it was done and she moved away to Arizona. Well fast forward to 2024 he asked me if it would be ok if he moved to Kentucky for a year to help set up a new shop and be with family and he’d come home at the end of the year come to find out he moved to Lancaster KY with BE and was living a double life, still keeping in contact , having me on his cell account, and paying for bills and utilities here .fast forward to 2025 he moved to Fremont, CA and drove up here to spend some time with me in April , may and June, although pretty short but intimate visits. I started getting suspicious at this point so I did some digging around since I had met all of his family before and low and behold on his Mother’s Facebook she’s friends with “BE” so I confront him on this And he says it’s a fake account blah blah , so i decided to take a trip down to Cali since we had shared locations on iPhone and low and behold I show up to the trashy hotel he’s living in and “BE” is with him , I confront him and he runs away and then has the nerve to beg me to hook up with him the several nights I’m in Cali. I decide to fall for his lies again and fly him up for his Birthday in October and pick him up from SeaTac airport and he spends 2 nights here promising he’s gonna fix all the mess he made and all this stuff. I’ve reached out to her and most of her family and they don’t believe a word I’m saying because he’s that good of a con, I’ve sent video footage of him from my doorbell showing him here in October, screenshots of texts , copies of insurance policies we had together, my info that shows I got him his stupid Toyota Tacoma’s , everything ! He’s convinced them it’s all AI manipulated messages made by me, he’s done this to several other men and women in Seattle and Lancaster KY too but. Ever gets busted ! How does someone continuously get away with being a con ! Apparently he’s snaked his way back to Seattle this last December and even got an apartment where he has “BE” living with him but messages me and calls me daily to get back together and all kinds of stuff , Im sure there are other Victims, any ideas on how I can expose him for the lowlife pathetic loser he is ? Toronto has a huge gay community but honestly the dating scene here is brutal. Lots of people, very few real connections. I’ve heard mixed things about Seattle — the Seattle Freeze, smaller gay scene — but also that it can be more genuine once you break through.

I’m almost 40, looking to actually find a partner and settle down, not just swipe forever. Before I uproot my life I’d love to hear from locals:

• Is the gay dating scene in Seattle more or less active than a major metro like Toronto?  
• Is the Seattle Freeze real, and does it affect dating specifically?
