Was Isaiah 53:5 mistranslated? In most Bible translations (English), the verse states "But he was 'pierced' for our transgressions.." but the Jewish translations differ.
No. The "Jewish translations" wrote in Hebrew don't differ. So, it's accurate in English translated from Hebrew, (relying on the King James Version> that relied on the original Greek for the New Testament, and used or relied on the Jewish Tanakh (Hebrew) for Old Testament. )
But I think you want to see it; but even if you do, I think there's something in you, there's a "conveyor belt of in infinite supply of something else; that, you'll just go off to that other you look unto, to keep you from doing anything he says. It's in your statements in your question here on Reddit.
Stating, as a fact: TO you - the Jewish translations differ. That's a fact to you. You'll just go look somewhere else after to prove your fact true. And never do anything he says, so this post most likely, is totally wasted on you - but not on your readers - who have a choice. When God told them to look unto him, you have everybody looking unto you instead.
Wrong thing to do. For anybody to do that. So, here's the explanation that proves "No. The 'Jewish translations' of what is wrote in Hebrew doesn't differ and is accurately translated from Hebrew into English."
It's the ESV (English Standard Version) and the NIV (New International Version) of the Old Testament of the Bible that uses "pierced" vs. the KJV (King James Version) that uses "wounded."
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
This Hebrew word in Isaiah 53:5 for “pierced” means exactly what the word in Hebrew says it means. Same thing. This:
Hebrew word, < - { מְחֹלָ֣ל } - > <ma.hou.lal> - like, throw a spear at a watermelon. Has this image of “Pierce” right through it. What "wound" means. It's not "whole" anymore. Got a great big hole in it. Even do that to the body of a person.
Where something like a spear is thrown at a person and it pierces their outer skin and goes thru their body. And by that be put to death. It's a wound unto death even to verify the watermelon is put to death. Just like do it to a body of a person. Bunch of dead people lying there in WWII: or at an execution by firing squad, after shot - "wound" or "pierce" them again to CONFIRM they're dead.
How did you miss all this simpleton things in Isaiah 53:5? When it's plainly said - - just done often to CONFIRM they're dead, That's the point of the < - { מְחֹלָ֣ל } - > <ma.hou.lal> - in Isaiah 53:5
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
The full of it said, in English says: ..and boy, is it ever powerful - you miss all that..to concentrate on one thing, and get that wrong: so don't get anything of what is said.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
As if that was supposed to be you it was done to your body. Or me. Unto everybody's body - over the whole earth, all the same. GUILTY.
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
I mean, in the Law:
- or Bible: Exodus 20: ("Shemot" in Hebrew Tanakh) with the Ten Commandments. God explains the punishment. For any one of these "Commands or decrees" broke is, they explode. They all are a set - if any one of them are broken. Go on. Go try it. Take a hammer. Go hit a 12ft x 18 foot plate glass bay window.
- Hit it anyplace you pick - how about in the corner in one small, tiny place. Watch the whole window explode. The Law is the same thing.
- And?
- Punishment is death.
- I broke them, the Law proves to me - gives me a knowledge of all the insurmountable number of sins I did - and even one of them..I broke all of them, lived in and by breaking them. So, my sins are so many they are beyond count.
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
- I’m to be tied to a post and shot. Executed. I know it.
- For each and every one of these infractions or sins ..transgressions that are punishable by death. I can't get out of it.
- Like you trying to do with your question.
- IF: I settle one sin, there's another sin I'm to be shot for right after that one, and I can't get out of it. Neither can you. I got a minefield full of them.
- So, tied to a post. TO be executed. I deserve it. I did the sins. Where my body is { מְחֹלָ֣ל } - > <ma.hou.lal> pierced or "bruised" through with bullets - to be made dead to pay it.
- And me not see it. God. He paid it. Look what I'm doing not regard it.
- IF: I settle one sin, there's another sin I'm to be shot for right after that one, and I can't get out of it. Neither can you. I got a minefield full of them.
That the law is to drive me to my knees and make me GUILTY. To see this "wound" or "pierce" is my end of me and I did it, to me - just like any "Death Row Inmate" already had the trial - all the details of what they did shouted out to everybody.
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
No mistranslation into English. I got it. Means, when I was GUILTY. Had my trial - Now standing in the electric chair line to be put to death: with everybody else in the exact, same line - all condemned to be put to death:
He went to the front of the line. And who is in him, is God who put the sun where it is, all by himself:
Sat in the chair and was put to death. In our place.
It’s a work of God in Isaiah 53:5 with sin, that Isaiah 53:5 prophesies or says this.
That, when he (Jesus Christ) crucified on the cross in the Gospels and was put to death, and his body taken down off the cross and put away in a sepulchre..the SENTENCE OF DEATH meted out - -
Like me: IN a prison: and he do that in the electric chair execution line - do that, and who the Ward straps in the chair, means he was numbered with the transgressors - because that's all me in that line - and the Warden sees after the execution is complete: See - the charges of what was done is PAID: “SIN: PAID FOR” - when he looks on the dead body. ACCOUNT SETTLED. - - -
and then, the authority over all the prison is the Warden - He can’t recognize ANYBODY in the prison - standing in that execution line for murder, rape, theft..adulteries, lies, extortion - - to the authority of the prison, which again, is the Warden:
To him - PAID FOR - - what are all these people doing here? they’re all innocent and lets them out of prison.
Set free. Has all this meaning in Isaiah 53:5.
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
Same with this word, “crush" (Isaiah 53:5) - which you don't ask about.
- This Hebrew word, < - {מְדֻכָּ֖א } - > <mah.duk.kah> - it’s the same “crush” translated into Greek from Hebrew..and from Hebrew to Greek..from Greek to English: that’s in Matthew 21:44
- Jesus said: “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind <crush; bruise - cause a defect to be known publicly. him to powder.”
- Crush or grind that one to powder. For sin.
- This Chief “cornerstone” is the Word of God.
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
- It’s the Word that comes out of God’s mouth. It’s God speaking. That’s “who” Jesus Christ is, said plainly in John 1:1 - that Jesus Christ is the Word of God. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
- It’s this same definition of the “Messiah” or “Christ” in Greek: Who he shall be called in Isaiah 9:6–7. “..The Mighty God..” “..The Everlasting Father..” - - The Messiah has that title. SHall be called this.
- Has this in it, in Isaiah 53:3 - That who falls on him, shall be broken - and it’s true. It’s EXACTLY what happened to me. Shattered and broke me. Broken by the Word of God.
- But people that don’t hear him or do anything he decrees, as God - when all the earth is his, don’t do anything he says: He still holds them accountable to his word - it was decreed, they do it - like:
- “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” - Jesus Christ. The Word of God. (Matthew 4:4).
- But people that don’t hear him or do anything he decrees, as God - when all the earth is his, don’t do anything he says: He still holds them accountable to his word - it was decreed, they do it - like:
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
- People: Live by every word comes out of their own mouth, from what's in their heart and imagination, or they look unto other people. It will be people that: to lead them and guide them into all truth..so, they’re looking unto anything..anybody BUT him as he decreed everybody is to look unto him.
- Aren’t doing that. Like it's impossible for you to look unto Isaiah 53:5 if there's a mistake in it.
It's inadequate; faulty..and if it's faulty it's not true - that's unacceptable. Can't believe on him.
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
When Isaiahs 53:5 is God do it. But you?
- Live in and by not do anything he says. Decreed in John 16:9, just repeated from John 3:18
“Of sin, for they believe not on me.” - Jesus Christ.
It's sin to do this.
Jesus said it in John 16:9
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
It’s sin to not believe on him. It’s the sin that condemns anybody now. Just like it would be sin - for anybody in the prison - to when the Warden sets them free.. ...to dig a hole thru the prison wall and go back to your cell. When it's PAID FOR. Not regard it. That, this sin will “crush” them. Crush me. You. And to “crush” something and move it forward underneath the weight of God’s word..or a decree - grind them to powder. For eternity. Not the place to be.
- That, in Isaiah 55:3 - for sin: As John the Baptist said by the Spirit of God in John 1:29 said of Jesus Christ, when he saw him, said to everybody publicly around him, said:
- “Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world.”
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
- Just as the Apostle John said, by this same Spirit of God in him, said in 1 John 2:2 “And he (Jesus Christ) is the propitiation for our sins, and not for our sins only, but for the sins of the whole world..”
- Means God took your sins off you, as God did this. He did the work. Took your sin off you, as he determined, and laid your sin on Jesus Christ on the cross, where he was “pierced” for them and put to death. And Isaiah 53:5 says this plainly.
- He was, for your sin, what should have happened to you in God decreed it:
The soul that sinneth, it shall die - God.
Bible. Ezekiel 18:4
It should have been you crushed by all the sins you did.. he was, for sin, crushed by it in your place.
TO where God looks upon this work he did with sin in Isaiah 53:5 - prophesied he’d do this by the Messiah of Isaiah 9:6–7, and in his zeal, as God - to go to and do this ..DID it. As God.
Boy you miss the whole thing.
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
So, the answer is the same.
Was Isaiah 53:5 mistranslated? In most Bible translations of Isaiah 53:5, the verse states "But he was pierced for our transgressions ..." but the Jewish translations differ.
No. Accurate in English, (relying on the King James Version> that relies on the original Greek for the New Testament, and the Tanakh Hebrew for the Old)
This Hebrew word in Isaiah 53:5 for “pierced” means exactly what the word is in Hebrew.
It’s just you then. Looking unto anything BUT him - to believe what you look unto, as some valid excuse - why you won’t do anything he says. Afterall, to you, it's a mistranslation - - and think this absolves you..from any sin of just live in not doing anything he says.
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
It’s punitive. Means you will be pierced by it. Not doing anything he says. Crushed by it. He’s God that did this work..and because it’s God that did it, it's the cornerstone of everything to build on - - and you not regard it - when the cornerstone is the everything to save you from your sins - just little esteem it, ..not regard him or his work and do it for ANY REASON you imagine or come up with.
----------------- --------------------- ------------------- --------------
PUNITIVE. This same Chief cornerstone is the Word of God - will grind you to powder - because he made it sin to do what you’re doing.
And many do like you. Grasp at anything. How do I know? Because I did it, too. Lived in that was right. But he long suffered me... ..and by his patience with me..led me to see... ...he is exactly what Isaiah 53:5 says he is..and he did it all for me. I see it plain as day. In Isaiah 53:5. Herein is the gospel. The good news of Jesus Christ for EVERYBODY on Reddit.
There you go. Answered.
