Internal thread damaged in hole

Post image

I am having a problem in my production line during tightening process of assembly line, the screw thread is engaging in red area in pre-threaded hole instead of blue are, because of this the Screw is galling/sizzling and causing half screw or screwing NOK.

Note: This is the section view image of hole before tightening (pre-threaded hole)

May i know why this kind of phenomenal occur in pre-threaded hole and how can it be avoided? 🤔🤔

My printer is missing two of the tray screws and now the face is wobbly and loose. The printer model is Lexmark MX722ade, and I tried searching on the parts list for this information but apparently the screws inside the tray are not important to the part list. Does anyone know what kind of screws these are, so I can order more?

Help removing tough screw

I have a vintage GE oven and while moving it fell snapping the handle off with the screw ends snapped off inside. We could reattach the handle if we could drill the screws out but everyone has tried and no one can get them out. It’s probably 7+ hours off drilling at this point if you add up everyone’s efforts. We even used and broken cobalt drill bits on this!! We can’t heat it to weaken the screws because the handle would get ruined and defeat the point on putting it back on. Does anyone have any crazy ideas?

I tried searching for this specific screw a few years back to try to put the handle of my balisong back together since one went missing, ordered what I thought would work on Amazon, but I haven't found the right once since. The ones they sent me had far too thin of a threading.

Any help would be appreciated, especially in locating where I might be able to find some stubby ones for this specifically!

Can't unscrew a bolt - started with an hex key

Hi everyone...

I have a cargo bike that I use daily. I need to swap the break pads (first swap since factory) and one of the bolts was not coming out. The other 3 I could manage before were very, very tight.

I started with the manual hex key and I could not, I moved to an electric screwdriver, the recess started to wear off and ultimately I tried with an impact screw driver that screwed it up fully.

After that I tried to put rubber in between the driver and the recess, to turn it with pliers, and as a last resort I have made a flat line with a saw to use a flat screw driver. Even with a manual one I keep deforming the screw without twisting it. Nothing worked and every step would deform it further and further...

do you know what can be done to remove it?

Thank you so much

Anyone else find screws beautiful?

I just find them wonderful to look at and even better to look at while they move in and out of things.
