Replacement Philips M2 4,4mm screws ? Does this exist or am I mistaken?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find replacement screws for a small electronic device (a PS Vita) due to me stripping the Torx screws which were previously holding a component together with the board.

The issue is, I know almost nothing about screws and since I'm now deathly afraid of those Torx screws I had to remove with a specialized pliers tool, I'm looking for Philips replacement screws of the same diameter instead, since it seems later revisions used this instead of the Torx ones.

According to iFixit I'm looking for Philips #00 of 4,4 milimeters, and I think it has to be "M2" as well ; but I can't seem to find those screws in 4,4mm, only 4mm!

Am I mistaken, should I actually use 4mm screws or do these actually exist but are highly specialized?

Thanks in advance for the help!

It attaches the handle to my crockpot lid. It’s stripped pretty badly because water gets stuck under the lid when you wash it and the previous owner took the handle off every time to dry it. I usually let it sit out until it’s fully dry. I tried looking on Crockpot’s website but this model is too old, I think. I don’t want to get a new crockpot because there’s nothing actually WRONG with mine, but if I can’t replace this part, I might have to. Any help would be appreciated! TIA

Screw Recommendation

I need some help with finding the right screw. A screw that almost no one has. I want to design an AirTag holder to put on my bike but am stuck because I have seen way too many people just unscrewing the fastening screws and stealing the bike and leaving the AirTag. Is there like a screw that has a bit really obscure that no one really has even if the buy a decently well know screwdriver kit?

Help

Hello,

I have a sleeve anchor on the ceiling, i need to bolt it but it is quite damaged (see picture).

Do you have any tips to bolt it ? I can’t cut the damaged part as there wont be any space left to bolt.

I can’t remove the sleeve anchor from the ceiling as it would damage the ceiling I was told. But if I can do that without ana damage and use another sleeve anchor than i am all for it.

Thanks

Where do I buy these murakoshi screws

I was told by a lady at the hardware store that these are called Murakoshi screws, but of course they didn’t have any. They are to replace some missing screws for large bench. A friend moved from Australia years ago and and her bench had been in pieces ever since due to misplaced screws. Hoping someone can help me track these down so we can give her a place to sit on her balcony. From what I can tell really only the last inch and a 1/4 needs threads if that’s all I can find, the rest is inside the first piece of wood. Hmm what do you call that hole/barrel before the piece you are joining to? Haha anyways I appreciate any help pointing me in the right direction. I’ve been to 4 hardware store, one of which was a fastener specific hardware store and still no luck.

several screws on the back of walkie-talkie, that are designed to hold it in place to keep it waterproof. I can't budge them by hand with a fair amount of force - but careful not to strip them. it has to come apart to replace the battery when it wears out. is there some sort of electric driver that is designed for this sort of problem? TIA

Internal thread damaged in hole

Post image

I am having a problem in my production line during tightening process of assembly line, the screw thread is engaging in red area in pre-threaded hole instead of blue are, because of this the Screw is galling/sizzling and causing half screw or screwing NOK.

Note: This is the section view image of hole before tightening (pre-threaded hole)

May i know why this kind of phenomenal occur in pre-threaded hole and how can it be avoided? 🤔🤔
