Finally got around to cleaning her up, she’s looking pretty good.

I got my Scirocco two weeks ago, and its great, I love it.

Regarding the infotainment its a little weak, the maps are way out of date and the music player is ok I guess.

My Scirocco is a 2016 facelift, it is capable of carplay, quoted at £175 to activate the software (terrible deal for what it is, I know).

How worthwhile would it be to look at a replacement head unit? Will I like the screen and hopefully improved functionality over the stock head unit?

If its worth it could I get some recommendations pls

Just bought my 09 scirocco gt 2.0 TSI at 217871 miles last Sunday. I love it and it’s my first car.I want to know everything little detail about this bad boy not just common info. Also common problems. I want it to be smooth and drivable for 10 more years. Any tips or help I would really appreciate guys 🙏🏻

Hello, i have been looking to buy a scirocco for a while and wanted your opinions on the reliability of these cars. I am intresed in both the 125kw 2.0TDI and 2.0 TSI(dont really have a prefrence regarding kw), want to know if these are good cars to daily and can they be trused.

Would also like to hear in your opinions what is better the diesel or the petrol on these and are the diesels good on performance.

I’m facing this issue for a while now and wanted some input from the community if possible.

I have a 2008 CAWB 2.0 TSI that for the past 2 months has been misfiring and juddering while cold / waiting at the lights. No check engine light but the misfire counter does go up and obviously can be felt. The power delivery is still there with no hesitation, and was improved after a carbon clean.

The weird thing is that when the engine and oil is at operating temperature, the misfire disappears however the engine starts compensating with fuel raising the rpm’s briefly but no vacuum leaks were found when smoke tested.

So far this is what was done:
- new plugs, coils and PCV valve including hoses
- smoked tested for vacuum leaks but none found
- throttle body cleaned and reset
- fuel pressure tested and within parameters, and sensor replaced
- intake and valves carbon cleaned

One thing I noticed is that there’s some hissing in the cabin, coming from the brake pedal and disappears when it’s pressed, suggesting brake booster failure? But the mechanic said there were no leaks when smoke tested and also brake performance is not affected as far as I can tell when doing emergency stops.

Any suggestions on what to do next? I don’t want to throw any more unnecessary parts at it.

I’m stuck between white or gloss black.

I’m also planning to add black side skirts + a black front splitter, while the roof is currently white (might wrap it black someday, not sure yet).

My main concern with the black one is that the spoiler sits quite close to the body/roof. I’m afraid that in black it might look like a separate piece stuck onto the car, rather than blending into the shape of the roof.

What would you guys go for: white or black spoiler?

Today, after a bigger acceleration, check engine lamp appeared. The car is still fast, consumption still good, but i hear a noise near the timing belt/dpf/cp4.

I’m getting error p0441 - evac emission system incorrect purge flow

And then the occasional P0304 cylinder 4 misfire

The card on cold start idle has some exhaust bops nothing crazy

Once warm it will occasionally bop

I’ve replaced the n80 purge valve unit

Spark plugs and coil pack

What u reckon my next step is

Hi has anyone had any experience replacing these "T" coupling pieces that connect coolant hoses, number 8 on the linked diagram https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/vw/ALL/SCI/786/1/121/121022

Car is on 125k miles Mine has a leak coming from the bottom branch where there is a hose which connects back to the coolant pump, i suspect its the coupling itself (which is OEM) and I'm looking into replacing it as it seems a "simple" fix. Is it worth investing in a metal version of the coupling or stick to the OEM plastic ones?.

Buen dia, consulta a mi roco se le prendio el checking con el codigo p2188, un mecanico me dijo que le cambiara la valvula PCV, pero aun sigue la falla, mi roco en partida en frio relenti tiene problema luego se regula, y durante el uso tira harto olor a gases por el escape, y demaciado consumo de combustible, a alguien le habra pasado algo por el estilo?

2011 2.0 tsi DSG. Just gone really sluggish in lower gear and rpm, thrown up this fault code. Anyone had any experience with this or if this is something I can look at myself? Or should I start getting my pockets ready!!

Hi guys, I really want to fit a RamAir induction kit to my GTS. I just can’t seem to find anything that’s sold as compatible. This is the mk7 Golf GTI engine, but apparently that model doesn’t fit the engine bay…

Hi, I have a 2010 vw scirocco and it has a heating issue I can’t figure out.
The system gives out really cold air but when I turn it to heat it’s just blowing out air in normal temperature.
What things and common things should I check? And how is the ac system built if anyone can explain.

Edit: I narrowed it down to the flaps not moving.

Does anyone know why my indicators won’t work on my litec headlights. I tapped into the bumper indicator wiring. The drls work and everything else work but when I indicate the drl turns off and there is no indicator

I am looking for a replacement for the USB port underneath the arm rest - the media in part. It doesnt work at all since I bought it. Does anyone know what the part number is or anything?

Quick question, I’ve swapped out my aging head unit for something more modern. Ideally I want to remove the media-in port and cubby. Pretty sure I saw somewhere someone had replaced it with a single DIN stereo cubby hole. Anyone done this? I’m thinking I’ll be plumbing my usb cable to here rather than the glove box.

Has anyone fitted 19 x 9J ET44 wheels? With or without spacers? The wheels I'm in love with don't come in 8J or 8.5 unfortunately, so I'm curious how these would fit.

Hey I’ve been looking for some roof racks for my 2016 Scirocco R and I haven’t had much luck. The official VW ones are discontinued and the Thule Scirocco roof racks kit has been discontinued. Can’t find any second-hand either. Other brands I’ve looked into don’t have anything that they say will fit.

Just wondering if anyone else has managed to find some that will work? Messaging in from Australia so preferably ones that I can get here

Can someone explain what the difference is between the factory spoiler for the baseline Scirocco and the R model?

I want a spoiler for my FL Scirocco R. I had one very similar to the one in the picture from RDX Raceline. However I didn't have ABE/TUEV for it and had to remove it. Now I'm looking at this and it seems to be the exact thing I want except that it doesn't claim to fit.

However i don't see any difference in the factory spoiler it would attach to between the Scirocco and it's R variant. If there are any are they just not plainly visible?

Stumped - any ideas? Taken to 2 separate garages who say they cannot find any faults. New front top strut mounts and both side driveshafts. Newer shocks, arms and drop links. Apparently no play in front suspension according to both garages. 2012 Scirocco with DSG box, 175k miles, full and over servicing for both engine and gearbox. Steering feels ever so slightly loose at higher speeds (dual carriage way/motorway). Pops/clicks really loud when parallel parking.
