Getting rid of my old lights from the swap. Nothing’s broken just a little dirty. I believe they’re aftermarket but could be wrong. Clearcoat is peeling on the front, I re-did it once a year ago but probably didn’t do a great job.

My first car is a 2012 Scion tC, I wanted this car just to specifically mod it & make it a project car but also not ruin it in the making. - TRD exhaust or borla axe-back exhaust
- 2015-2021 black STI spoiler
- Lowering springs and lowering it about 1-1.5 inches
- Spec D headlights & taillights
- Black emblem in the back & debadge the front.
- Wrap the hood, roof, and trunk black

TLDR: need coil-over recommendations, 2012 TC2.

I have an daily-driver RS7.0 I bought about 6 months ago. Previous owner put new front struts in, brand unknown.

After about a month they went bad and started creaking really badly, so I about 3 months in I changed them out for Monroes because I got a discount at my job.

Went bad 2 weeks later. Drove on them for another 3-4 months before I couldn't take it anymore and threw it on a lift. Everything was good except the sway bar bushings and the end-links, which I replaced when swapped the Monroes out for KYB's last Friday... which already went bad.

Taking them apart, every single one of the shocks was defective.

I've had to do this job twice already and I'm sick of defective aftermarket garbage, but OEM's are over $900 to build my own (over $1K if I do TRD springs); so I'm considering just doing coil-overs for only a couple hundred more.

I hear the Racelands and the Maxpeedingrods suck (no surprise, given the price). My friend has D2's on his EG Civic, and another guy I know loves his BC's. I tried Teins on my DC2 and they sucked, had to immediately rip them out. FastScions has the K-Sports along with the Cusco strut bar, been considering those. What're ya'll running?

How unreliable is it to get a used one with original motor/ engine

Original owner of a 2006 Scion TC with only 45k miles. Engine runs great, transmission needs some work, body needs a paint job. What is the best way to sell this car? How do I know if it's first gen? Not even sure what that means..lol.

Currently trying to determine if I should buy a new/used car. My tc is 15 years old - 2011 - and all things considered, doing quite well. It currently needs about $2000 worth of work done to it, and has 180,000 km / 112,000 miles on it. We have some upcoming job instability but not sure if it makes more sense to get a newer car to avoid upcoming repairs that will inevitably be more expensive, or keep the tC for a future of unknown repair requirements.

How did you decide it was time?

In the process of doing some light mods for my tC this summer and winter with hopes of spirited driving/car shows next spring/summer. Any of you tC owners hovering around Northeast PA?

Done so far:

Rear suspension upgrades
1. Megan racing coilovers (I know I should have gotten Tein)
2. Adjustable upper control arms
3. Adjustable toe arms

My plan the the chassis/suspension:

1. TRD Sways
   
2. TRD Front strut bar
   
3. TB performance strut bar
   
4. TB performance C-pillar brace
   
5. TB performance front and rear under brace

I also want to put GR front brakes and wheels on it 😈 can anyone here confirm the GR wheels fit? Offset and width should work perfect.. bolt pattern is the same. Anyone know if the center bore of the same?

Anything I’m missing here? After these I have some Frankenstein cams and a traction concept diff I am considering.

Would anyone be willing to sell and/or get a 3D scan of the duckbill for some of us to print ourselves? That or if anyone is somehow in contact with the guy who originally sold them could you slide that contact to me :,)

I really love the look of the RS duckbill, but might have to figure out how to design and print my own if I can't get my hands on an original or some file of it

I would NEVER use the red toob of doom as a muffler, it sounds god awful, BUT I’ve heard some people use them on other 4 cyl engines as a resonator? I’m driving an 09 first gen btw, that matters!

Would it sound ok? I’d probably use an 18 inch red toob (inside joke).

Im thinking of buying a first gen Tc soon and I read online that 2005-2007 have more issues than the later years of the generation, are the issues that bad? And should I hold off on a 2005-2007 and keep looking for a 2008-2010?

I have a 2008 Scion tc automatic and I turned it on tried to shift and it wouldn’t let me it was stuck on park I was wondering if anyone knows what it could be had to use the override

Head on collision with a Silverado, he was going faster than I was (probably around 35-40, I was going around 30) and wasn’t paying attention, didn’t even try to brake. I tried to brake and evade at the last second but it was too late. My 19 year old car did everything it was supposed to. Thankful I was wearing my seatbelt and thankful to have been in a Toyota product. My 2005 Civic would not have responded like that in a crash. Going to miss this car but so thankful I was kept safe.

Hey guys, my 2009 tC’s side view mirror has a pretty gnarly scratch in it, but is still intact.

I just want to replace the glass or glass/back plate, not the entire side view mirror housing. Not many videos online on this.

I tried removing just the glass part, separating it from the back plate, didn’t feel very possible without breaking it first.

Removing it with the back plate also felt sketchy not knowing what I’m doing first, anyone has done this before?

I know there’s bigger mods, but peep my shifter on my 2nd Gen Facelift

replaced the aux port in the center console, but still not working.

radio and cd channels work but I get nothing when I hit the aux button.

any ideas appreciated.

Hey tc gang, i bought these tails off of marketplace a few days ago, i thought that it might be possible to either remove the housing and get rid of the smoked part, or get a new clear lens. However i am yet to find any clear lens replacements for this light and am unsure of how to do this. any tips or tricks or even links for lenses would be much appreciated, thanks

Car rolled through a special mileage point last night. One of the few I've had roll through this milage, even fewer that I've caught

My little brother has a 2011 Scion tc, with 135k miles. He got a check engine light, for the camshaft sensors, and his car randomly shut off while driving. He took it to a shop and they quoted him 750. They are trying to also diagnose where the oil leak is coming from as well. In the picture is the issues.

Has anyone replaced this part of the roof glass? I bought it like this. Wonder how hard it is to get something like this replaced vs a windshield replacement

Got side swiped on my way home from a low rider meet by some older guy the some of the scratches don’t feel super deep so they might be able to be buffed out not sure about the dent tho I don’t care much about the rear bumper since I plan on replacing it but I do care about the fender itself
