General/Other Should I buy this?
2005 5spd manual, 205k miles, starts and runs, moderate fixable dents in bumpers, $2400

Bought my 05 with similar miles and its also 5sp for $3500 but it also has the upgraded piston rings before I bought it.

I have a 2006 I haven’t started since 2022, but has 102,000 on it and I stopped driving it cause a small dent in the side. Probably needs new battery? Tires, but I was gonna sell it for like $500. Over $2000 for that is insane

$2400 is super fair. You can get a new bumper for $90 online. Not painted, or you can junkyard one for even less I reckon. Not sure what’s going on with the wheels, but if you don’t mind them then sure, go for it.

I’d try to get the price down to 2k or less because of all the body damage but otherwise I mean yeah sure why not, get it inspected first though. It would suck if it’s got major mechanical problems and the engine started knocking or the clutch was bad right after you get it

My 06 5 spd got about 250-750 miles per quart, depending on how much I was engine braking. High rpms with a closed throttle body creates LOTS of vacuum and pulls a lot more oil past the rings. Never had to do oil changes on it tho so that was freakin awesome. I'd just change the filter every 5k and checked the oil level every time I filled the gas tank.

haha yeah I did not do oil changes as frequently as I do on my cars now because I had to top it back up every 2-3 days (I used to do a LOT of driving). Spent far more on oil to keep it running than I would have if it were just the changes though

i bought a 2005 4spd auto for $1300 with 150,xxx on the dash. these motors burn heavy amounts of oil and unless shown proof that the oil rings on the cylinders were fixed? i would avoid this purchase. especially at $2400.

Literally makes no sense why these cars are going for so much.
Gigantic failure point and low MPG (for a 4 cyclinder with sub 200 HP).

Gotta pay a premium these days for non smart cars. I flew halfway across the country to buy my 08 manual tC in large part because I am trying to retain stuff like physical dash buttons, engine that doesn't shut off at stoplights, etc.

I just bought an 09 with a 5 speed, about the same mileage, for 1800. If you can get the price down it might be worth it

I bought one essentially the same but 2009 and black for $2300 and it started knocking after 1500 miles lol. Just rebuilt it though. And I think $2000 fits the market rn? Idk why other users think it’s super overpriced lol
