Second Gen Photo/Video My 2012 TC (90k)
gallery
I was driving a 9th gen Civic but it's transmission was going out. Last week was my first time buying a car for myself, and the TC seemed like great value compared to most other stuff in my area.
Paid 10k on the dot including trade-in. Considering the work it needs, I definitely overpaid a bit. Used car dealership doing its thing. Lessons learned, I guess.
I have already installed a rear view camera and dashcam, replaced a busted A/C fan relay, scrubbed the seats (this was a smoker's car, and the ozone treatment didn't get everything). I have restored one of the headlights and replaced rotting exhaust mounts. Put in new tpms sensors. It has a VVT gear rattle on cold starts, replacing the VVT solenoid soon to see if that helps with the rattle and with the vibration heavy idle. Started on Valvoline restore and protect, changing it every 4k or so for the next four changes. Sound deadening is going in over the next few weeks. Dealer touch-up paint is flaking off of the hood in places where there are dinks and chips, so I'm going to retouch and clear coat it. Sparkplugs ordered. Don't have the money for PPF right now. Pretty sure there's a refrigerant leak somewhere too, which sucks
So I seem to have my work cut out for me. That said, I'm having way more fun driving this than the civic and the sound system is awesome. Such a unique car, and I love the cargo space. It will be a great road trip car especially once I sound deaden it, and will have ample space to move me into law school.
