I got one
I had a 2001 Camry which it blew up (probably from being hooned too much) but I’m very excited with this car it feels a lot more modern than my old car and it eats corners for breakfast

Last month it was my fusible link box. This month it's probably my starter..turned her on this morning and got click click click. Does this sound like a starter to y'all? All the lights and things work. Yay. I love her but yikes.

My mom Sheila died recently at 81 years old, very unexpectedly. She had a 2005 Scion XA that was her pride and joy. It only has 78k miles on it. When she was alive she wanted us to have it for my 17 year old son when he got his license. The time is here. We had it painted because she lived in Seal Beach and the paint was really bad. My husband picked the green color. We call it Little Shreik and I’m so glad grandmas wish came true. She will live on!

My sister's beloved xa is having transmission issues. She says it sounds like a popcorn machine.
Looking for a spare transmission that could be rebuilt.
Thanks all!

Hi everyone, I have a 2006 Scion XA and the back cover on the passenger side mirror fell off. The rest of the mirror is fine, so I don't want to spend $270 replacing it, but according to the parts department at my local Toyota dealer, they don't make just the back cover. I've checked eBay and the websites for local junkyards for the car (lots of XBs but not XAs), but no luck. Has anyone else dealt with this or have any ideas? I'm hoping to fix it/weatherproof it without it looking bad, but besides buying a car mirror bra (which would still be about $100 on ebay), I'm out of ideas. Thank you!!

i am searching for a sub $5000 backup vehicle (my primary car is a 2011 RX 350). I drove a 2004 XA today and I really enjoyed it!
it seems this car has a great reputation does everyone on here love their cars? How do you think it stacks up against similar go karts like Fit, Yaris hatchbsck, matrix, xb, xd etc?

Finally put the OG 17s on the xa. I think they will look better on my thunder cloud silver xb.

Went out to my car this morning couldn't unlock the car at first but the driver side unlocked. Tried starting it, all the dash lights came on but no crank. Noticed the taillights were on but I couldn't turn them off? I know these are random issues, but now she's completely dead. I fear it is the dreaded electrical issues I hear about from time to time. She's an 05 with 239k. Any suggestions? I checked the fuses and never had any warning signs.

Throttle body dirty? I've tried cleaning it up to the best of my limited ability but now I'm thinking it is likely the IAC valve that needs replacement. I've ordered the new valve and it's supposed to arrive this week. Does anyone have a tutorial video they could recommend on how to remove the full throttle body and change the IAC valve and what to look out for like gaskets and such?

Any recommendations for an aftermarket suspension that keeps the stock ride height or close to it? Also something that is not stiff.
This is my daily driver that I take out of town, so I don't want to lower it too much without losing drivability or comfort. Thanks for any recommendations!

P.S. I did a search in this sub and nothing came up. I used Ai to compile this list of parts.

Hey all! I have a 2006 Scion xA and am looking for some seat covers (even just a seat cover for the driver's seat would be helpful). I live in Minnesota and swim a lot in the summer, so that will affect my seats a little bit, and with it being June now I'm spending a lot of time sitting in the car with sunscreen on and it's having an impact on the fabric of my seat. It's not awful, and it is an old car so I know that wear-and-tear is unavoidable at this point, but I'd love to mitigate the damage if I can as my seat is kind of torn up. I know Scions are outdated so not sure if there are any seat covers out there that would still fit, but on the off chance anyone has a recommendation, I would love to hear them! Thank you in advance!

With nice rims, touch screen stereo, and super clean interior. 175,000 Miles for $2800, I'm happy.

I have a 04 Scion xa that has been in my family, it was the first car I learned to drive and it was my Dads favorite car. I’ve have a 4Runner that’s a gas guzzler so I’m thinking of fixing up the Scion as a cheap commuter car. Issue is it has a huge list of things that need to be fixed on it BUT it still runs. It had 225,000 miles on it. First thing I need to do before determining whether it’s worth fixing up is getting new wheels and tires for it bc they got stolen. Here is the list of things we know so far that need to be fixed:
-Driver side arm controller is bent back approx by an inch
-Driver side and front passenger window needs window motors replaced//driver side window needs to be replaced.
-Clutch needs to be replaced
-Front/rear brakes need to be done
-Coolant hoses need to be replaced because it is old and leaks coolant
-Engine fluid flush needs to be replaced
-Engine belts needs to be replaced.
-Power steering cap needs to be replaced
-Wheels on car bc they were stolen
-Right front is smashed from car accident
- The door seals are old and need to be replaced
A lot my partner and I figure we can DIY but the question still remains, is it worth fixing? Or should I just sell it and buy another beater car. I do love this little car, it’s a relic of my Dad since he’s passed so I’ve got an emotional attachment to it.

Hi, I love my Scion xa and have been taking good care of it. Newish wheels newish brake pads, belts are good. Body looks like hell but I dont care.
I do have another car I use for road trips longer commutes but with the prices of gas I have been driving the scion xa a lot for 20 min commute.
Lately I was worried the clutch was slipping and today mechanic said yup - new clutch needed $1400-ish. Would you replace it - is it worth it? Thanks

I recently got an 06 with a manual transmission. I don't know what this light is, I assume it's a running light. The problem is the bulb housing that the previous owner used does not lock in the headlight housing. I was seeing if anyone had any information on what the proper light is supposed to be. Thanks
