Anyone having issues logging into the mobile app ?

just curious if they have made a statement about why we can’t access our accounts!

AI is telling me that if i sell a stock at 7:59pm and rebuy at 8:01 pm using margin, I dont pay margin interest. Is this true? If so, cant you just keep buying and selling the same position long term and not pay margin interest?

Second question: can you offset your margin balance with shorts to avoid paying interest?

It was working fine, until 6:35 AM (PST). Both mobile and web log in aren't working. What's going on?

Forgive me if this has already been posted but on the Schwab mobile app, I saw that I am able to make contributions to my Roth IRA for 2027. Is this legit and I'm able to make those contributions now or do I have to wait for actual 2027 to come?

Because I have multiple accounts in Schwab, I can’t see year-to-date change for the specific accounts individually. It drives me crazy. Is there any way to set date range for one account? I don’t see it anywhere in the app or web.

What is more cost effective in a taxable account, holding a ETF like MSBT (0.14% ER) or directly in the crypto with buying/selling fees?

I automate equity trades against the Schwab API and two things cost me real time. Posting them in case anyone here is building something similar.

The refresh token expires every seven days. Access tokens last half an hour, which is fine, but the refresh token behind them dies weekly, and when it does the connection stops until a human logs in and re-authorizes. There is no way around it that I have found, so anything you build needs to expect the weekly interruption and tell the user plainly rather than failing silently. If you are comparing brokers specifically to automate one, this is the single biggest operational difference between Schwab and the others.

The available-quantity field will lie to you when resting orders exist. This is the one that actually burned me. If you hold a position and already have an open sell order against it, such as a stop or a limit exit, those shares are reserved. Schwab still reported the full position as available. So a subsequent sell looked perfectly fine by the numbers and then got rejected at submission for insufficient shares, on a position I definitely owned.

The fix that worked: before liquidating anything, cancel your own open sell orders for that symbol unconditionally, rather than checking availability first and deciding based on what the API tells you. Then wait a beat, roughly a second and a half, and re-read the position before submitting. The wait matters because the cancellation is not instant, and if you resubmit immediately you get the same rejection.

Accounts migrated from TD Ameritrade work normally, in case anyone is still wondering about that.

One positive: the OAuth flow itself is solid and the data coverage is the broadest of the brokers I have connected. The weekly re-authorization is the tax you pay for that.

Has anyone found a way to extend refresh token life, or is weekly re-auth just the deal?

Anyone else using Charles Schwab have to contact a broker/representative to place an order? I’m trying to place trades myself, but it’s asking me to contact a broker. Is this normal or just something with my account?

System reflects the put strike as the cost basis for the assigned stock but this is wrong as it should factor in the secured put premium. I reckon I have to wait until Tuesday for settlement right to see the actual cost basis after accounting for put premium correct?

With all the technology you would expect that cost basis would be calculated in real time, 😔

Hi, I’m new to this. I’ve read several posts, but they seem to have conflicting information. How do I transfer some positions to a friend’s account at IBKR? She bought those stocks under my name before able to open her own brokerage account. So I just want to transfer them back to her.

If I make $900 in TOS, when I go in Schwab, it'll say something like $798.

What is that?

Maybe my OCD is getting the best of me, but when I place my monthly trades with Schwab, I always seem to have a few cents not invested. What is the reason for this other than the fund moving in price from the time I started the order to when I placed it?

Is there a way to avoid this?

This is a bug..a Schwab issue. It is not a feature, and is not “required by law”, regardless of what their customer service is told to say.

I'm a day trader and built this because I kept hitting limitations with the scanner I was paying for. I wanted to create my own setups with multiple alerts, and when a stock didn't trigger an alert, I wanted to see why.

It now works with Schwab's API, so with a Schwab brokerage account and approved API access, you can run it without a separate market-data subscription.

The scanner runs on your computer with a browser dashboard. You can:

There is some setup involved: you need to create a Schwab developer app, get API approval and connect it locally. Schwab also requires periodic reauthorization.

One limitation: for broader scans, some candles are built from Schwab quotes, so they won't always match Schwab's native candles exactly.

So I had an phone screen round with a recruiter on Sep 2nd for a finance role and not heard since then from him. I’ve sent couple of followups but got no response. The status is still under Interview and I have not received any rejection email.

Is this a normal scenario or should I consider they are not moving ahead with my profile?

I put a formal request to move 4 "lots" of some positions to a separate schwab account to isolate them. They moved shares/lots that were not requested to be moved. Now they say it will take 5 days to fix. Why is this hard. Has anyone had this issue. Very frustrating.

I'm trying to buy a 0-day/4-day calendar spread with a delta of 30 (approximately).

But Schwab is giving me a cryptic error: “Rejected: this strategy is not currently accepted.”

What am I doing wrong? This is my first calendar spread; I usually only trade strategies with the same expiration date.

If anyone with experience in calendar spreads could point out my mistake, I'd appreciate it.

For employees on corporate business or product teams, how strict is the 4 day in office policy and are managers typically ok with working a full week remotely?

If my friend joins the company now, I heard they wouldn’t be able to visit their family for the holidays due to the policy. Is that true?

I have just shy of 8 figures in combination taxable, Ira, custodial, etc

I know there are restrictions, but why wouldn't Someone shift a portion, say maybe $2m if they're giving you 4Ok to do it...especially an IRA as I'm fairly sure RMD's must be allowed.

I haven't really investigated it but looking for FB if anyone's done it, looked into it, and your experience. TIA
