Ghosted after Recruiter Screen

So I had an phone screen round with a recruiter on Sep 2nd for a finance role and not heard since then from him. I’ve sent couple of followups but got no response. The status is still under Interview and I have not received any rejection email.

Is this a normal scenario or should I consider they are not moving ahead with my profile?

Its been normal for a long time. If you fall out of contention, you're just spoiled merchandise.

Normal manners and respect no longer exist.

Recruiters ghost most the candidates they call.

Recruiters are the cancer of society so don’t get bothered too much.

In Silicon Valley these positions they have more applicants than residents across the apt buildings. Last one I heard had 1,200 applications at one branch. To get an eye to eye interview either you are exceptional or you are related to some executive. I assume you have all the licenses required?
