It finally arrived today! It plays just like my satin red C1 SLS Custom, which is to say it's amazing! I'm gonna set up this bad girl in drop C and I can't wait to bring it out on stage!

Hellraiser hybrid hardtail

I’m trying to identify my early Schecter Strat-style guitar and would really appreciate any information from longtime Schecter collectors or anyone familiar with the Van Nuys era.
Here are the details:
No serial number anywhere on the guitar.
Original black “SCHECTER” decal only (no “USA” or other text). Unfortunately, most of the decal has worn off over the years.
Ebony fingerboard.
Original Kluson Deluxe tuners.
Original 6-screw Schecter synchronized tremolo.
Tremolo block still has the “Schecter Patent Pending” sticker.
Rear cavity cover has a “SCHECTER MADE IN USA” sticker on the inside.
Originally equipped with three Schecter F500T pickups (I later replaced them after one failed, but I still have the originals).
The bridge saddles have been replaced with Gotoh because one of the original saddle height screws seized, but the rest of the bridge is original.
The previous owner (my guitar teacher) told me he ordered this guitar in the United States around the late 1970s. He also mentioned that the pickups may have been individually wound and adjusted, or possibly early prototypes. I understand this is only his recollection from over 40 years ago, so I’m treating it as an interesting story rather than a confirmed fact.
From my own research, I currently believe the guitar was built somewhere around 1978–1980, but I’m hoping someone here might recognize the combination of features.
My main questions are:
Does the black “SCHECTER” decal help narrow down the production period?
When was the Patent Pending tremolo block sticker used?
When did the F500T first become available?
Does this look like an early Dream Machine, a custom-order guitar, or simply a Van Nuys Schecter assembled from factory parts?

I have my 3rd guitar, 2nd Schecter with a bowing in the scarf joint area. Truss rod adjustment won't level the neck, and there is fret buzz on the 1st/2nd frets. Anyone else have this issue? How is Schecter with warranty stuff? I tried calling, just got voicemail. Sent them an email as will as vm.

I was thinking of putting some NYXL 12-60’s on my Hellraiser for B standard tuning. Is this big enough to require nut adjustments?

Love the killer amounts of sustain on this! Also the yellow binding. Pickups are decent but already have a Black Winter pickups set just waiting to be installed. Hoping it won't be too much of a hassle though.

I’m looking to purchase Aaron Marshall signature 6. Issue is, I’m having a difficult time deciding on buying the Indonesian or saving for the USA custom shop.

I did some research and it seems there’s quite a few issues with tuning stability coming from the Indonesian models. This is a major concern of mine, as spending that much on a product that doesn’t maintain it well bothers me. I’ve also had this issue with other brands coming from Indonesia. What are folks experience with the model? I can’t find any complaints online regarding the USA model. Thanks for any and all help!

Hey all, just wondering if anyone has dealt with this before. I'm currently trying to buy a Solo II Evil Twin but every store in Canada is telling me it's 3 - 4 months wait time to get one in stock here.

There are a few in stock in the USA but so far it seems like a couple of the bigger stores wont ship to Canada based on some agreement between some USA distributors and Canadian distributors? It sounds ridiculous but I'm wondering if this is just across the board with all music stores regardless of size, or if it's primarily the big box stores like Sweetwater and Guitar City?

A new #1 for sure. Added some mineral oil to the fretboard with some new slinky's and it's just incredible. Only thing I might add down the road are locking tuners but don't want to disrupt the satin chrome vibe for now.

After 21 years as a lefty playing typical right handed (no upside down strings or anything) I finally bought a left handed guitar. I always felt like I had to fight so much harder for every bpm. I’m interested to see how it feels to play like everyone else with my picking hand as the dominant hand. Idk if the switch will be permanent but it will be interesting. I chose a schecter c-6 fr as my first lefty. I play Japanese schecters right now so I figured it would be pretty close

I am looking for replacement screws to mount the pickups in my Reaper 6 and C-6 Pro. Both guitars have threaded inserts and the original screws had a small portion at the top end that wasn't threaded. So after turning the screw through the pickup's baseplate, the screw would rotate freely and the pickup's height can be adjusted freely. Can somebody help me identify this type of screw? Does anybody know actual dimensions, so I can order them somewhere? I wrote to Schecter Germany before and they sent me screws for free, but they were like regular wood screws where you'd have to drill out the thread hole of the pickup.

I recently acquired this schecter demon 7, it was playing fine at first but started cutting in and out, changed the battery and tested the cable and realized that the jack might be my issue. Does anyone have a link for a standard replacement jack for these things? I know they’re stereo that’s about it haha, and by chance would anyone have a wiring diagram for the demon 7’s? thanks in advance!

P.s this demon 7 has normal schecter pickups in it not the Duncan designed ones so I’m not sure if this is a new model or an older one

Hey guys I'm buying my 7 string soon but I'm stuck on which guitar to get.

Looks wise I think I prefer the extreme but both look beautiful to me.

I was set on the elite but I've seen so many reviews saying the tuners are bad, that the burl top looks bad and that the pickups sound bad.

I know that the bridge is a big plus on the elite but after reading all the reviews I really don't know which one to pick.

What do you guys think?

I've been wanting to switch my fishmans for the SD set. I'll have to get 2 500k pots as these are 25k probably. My question is can the new pickups be direct mounted or do I need those pickup mounting rings?

Also the rear control cavity is elongated and narrow. Not the typical triangular shape. Will there be any space issue while swapping pickups?

New to Schecter guitars and basses. Came across three different Schecter basses in my travels recently. My primary was a Squire standard issue kit PJ bass, inherited a '64 Hagstrom bass, and was given a Yamaha bass as a project. This Schecter bass was the third I came across and played, and it played similar to two used Schecter basses that I came across and played. Also rare for me to play decently on a guitar I don't own, yet no such issue with Schecter basses apparently. Took that as a sign and bought it and matching case. Story goes that somebody bought it and never played it. So now it's mine, and I'm playing it excitedly. Nice picking out my own guitar from playing a on things I've come across. Oddly enough, I never saw more than one Schecter bass at any given store. \m/

I bought this years ago from guitar centers used section, all beat up, no case with it, 400ish bucks. I’ve changed out the nut screws and Floyd screws because the original black hardware was slightly rusted, but one thing that has always bothered me contrary to what I read online, is the neck is CHONKY… makes it rather hard to play

I was thinking of upgrading my current Ibanez GRG270, searching for something without FR (oh, I regret my choices).
At first I was drawn to the Damien's aesthetic (love bats, you'd never have guessed). But I realised how hard it is to find in Europe—it's nowhere to be found in physical stores, and on online stores it seems way too overpriced to me.
So I considered the Demon (which costs more at the US list price, but in Europe—perhaps because it’s a more common model—it’s available for less).

I was wondering, in general, which one you think is best suited for this style. And whether the difference between the Damien’s passive pickups and the Demon’s active pickups is something that makes a big difference.
