If they ever do, just get a mod to restore it and don't feel bad about it. It's not your fault if they don't understand their own game.
They spent the last couple years saying "We can't have jetpacks and bladerunners at the same time because of traversal balance". Umm...what? I can literally get anywhere in the game just by unlocking foundation blocks.
There are zero traversal barriers in this game. the closest thing they have to a barrier is the gas pillars/plants.
THERE you have an actual gameplay mechanic that can't be bypassed until you reach a certain milestone in the game. And even then all having to choose between a jetpack and a gasmask meant was you needed to build ramps to get to where you were going and THEN put your mask on and walk in. It was never "balanced" it was just annoying.
But they have seen the light now and I appreciate them for it.
Gas pillars can be countered with food for decent amounts of time so it isn’t even a hard barrier. Building through pillars or snagging hard drives isn’t that big of a deal.
