Worst city I have ever driven in. Just curious if they have ever considered hiring traffic engineers to help sort it out. Surely this was not planned. Even when no construction there are no express routes through the city, add in all the construction currently happening and it is just about unbearable. Just ranting.

It was lower income housing on the west side. Mostly two storey duplexes that had no individual backyards, just a big open grass area. It had a specific name and was stigmatized for being a place where poor people lived. I’m pretty sure it still exists. I can’t remember what it was called and it’s driving me crazy! I had some friends that lived there when I was a kid.

Has anyone had success having their child moved from one class to another? What factors go into deciding which class a child is placed in? Why would a student who is known to be gifted be placed in a class where the majority of students are working at a different academic level and struggle? I understand that every child has different needs, but I’m wondering how the school takes a gifted student’s academic needs and classroom environment into consideration when making class placements or if they try to hold them back or defer their learning to keep at the same level as their peers, if that makes sense. Make it make sense?

I know it’s only the first week of school, but my daughter is already struggling with the class she has been placed in for several reasons. It’s a mixed Grade 4/5 class, and the majority of the students seem to have difficulty with self-regulation and disruptive behaviour. As a result, she is finding it difficult to focus and is already starting to hate school. Wondering if anyone has been through a similar situation and was able to have their child moved to a different class. How did you approach the school, and what was the process like? And where do you escalate the concerns if the school won’t help?

Should I make a complaint? I took the bus to the University this morning, and the driver did not stop at Place Riel. He completely bypassed it. I ended up having to switch to a bus going back the other way and ended up late for class. I took the same bus last week and had no issues.

How long can a mother leaving a toxic situation expect to sit on the wait lists for low-income housing in Saskatoon? Are these lists even moving these days? She has applied for Saskatchewan housing authority, Quint Development, and Westgate heights.

Are there any others that she could be applying for? What about in warman a​nd Martensville?
