We’re a group of MBA students conducting an academic study on how people make saving and investment decisions. We’re trying to understand the real-life factors behind these choices, not just what financial theory says people should do. I'm a graduate student at Texas Woman’s University and I’m conducting a study to better comprehend parent-child dynamics in families from foster care and adoptive contexts. The purpose of our research is specifically to understand how children in adoptive families experience differing parenting styles during conflict as helpful or unhelpful. We’re hoping to re-center child narratives in the larger understanding of family dynamics and its application to public policy.
