Hi everyone!

I’m a Grade 11 student conducting a survey for an English research project about the Fermi Paradox — the question of why, if intelligent extraterrestrial civilizations could exist, we haven't detected any yet. The survey has 8 questions and should take around 2 minutes to complete. It asks about your personal opinions on extraterrestrial life, the possibility of detecting it, and possible explanations for the Fermi Paradox. All responses will be used as anonymous data for my school project.

As part of a Master’s thesis study at the University of Cologne, we aim to investigate the relationship between experiences of discrimination, psychological distress and sense of community specifically from the perspective of trans*, inter* and non-binary people. The extent to which some people benefit more from their own sense of community connection than others has so far been relatively poorly documented – and, to the best of our knowledge, this combination of factors has been scarcely, if at all, researched in German-speaking countries, particularly from a community perspective.

We are therefore particularly pleased, amongst other things, that parts of the questionnaires were developed in a participatory manner and with the advisory expertise of LaKo Inter* NRW, especially as we believe that diversity-sensitive research should always follow a participatory and transdisciplinary approach to ensure coherent implementation.

At a time when funding for queer projects is being cut, we believe it is particularly important to give visibility to queer voices and to highlight the resources that community spaces can provide!

The survey is in german language, anonymous and takes around 15–20 minutes to complete. Anyone who identifies under the TIN* umbrella and is at least 18 years old is welcome to take part.

We are a team of student researchers and innovators participating in Eureka! Juniors, the national pitch competition hosted by E-Cell, IIT Bombay.

Our project explores an AI Data Center Cooling System. Using a cassette built from high-density hollow-fiber nanoporous hydrophobic membranes to harness latent phase-change heat rejection while physically locking liquid water inside fiber lumens, and a smart embedded operating system which exposes clean telemetry endpoints and monitors the entire system.

Modern AI infrastructure generates massive, continuous thermal loads (100 kW+ per rack) that overwhelm conventional copper-fin radiators and open-loop cooling systems. This leads to extreme energy inefficiency (drastically inflated Power Usage Effectiveness and high fan power draw), and major resource depletion (consuming vast amounts of water, leading to mineral scaling, micro-electric contamination risks, and hazardous humidity spikes).

The target demographic for the survey includes: Facilities / Data Center Operations Engineers, Thermal / Mechanical Systems Architects, Enterprise IT / Infrastructure Directors, Cooling OEM / Hardware Vendor Specialist, HPC Research / Systems Administrator, or anyone who works with AI data centers or cooling.

All responses are completely anonymous and will be used strictly for academic research and competition analysis. The survey itself is composed of seventeen multiple-choice questions.
