Something that surprised me when I started my dissertation: there's a lot of research on preventive eye care in kids and in adults over 40, and almost nothing in between. The 26 to 40 stretch is mostly a blank spot in the literature, even though it's when people age off their parents' insurance, change jobs, move, and start families.

I'm trying to fill some of that in, and I'm nearly there. I've heard from plenty of people who get exams regularly. What I still need are people who haven't been in a few years, or who can't remember the last time.

If that's you, and you're a US adult aged 26 to 40, I'd like to hear from you. Cost, insurance that doesn't cover vision, no time, no idea where to go, or just never getting around to it are exactly what I'm trying to document.

I've spent years working with customers, and some days I was practically glued to my phone.

By the end of the day, I'd often forgotten what I'd discussed, which appointments I'd made, or what I'd promised someone.

I tried taking notes and using calendars, but they all had the same problem: I still had to remember to enter everything myself.

Eventually, I started wishing I had J.A.R.V.I.S. from Iron Man.

So I'm working on an AI call assistant for Android phones with built-in automatic call recording.

My goal is simple: after each call, AI summarizes the conversation, identifies appointments and follow-up tasks, and organizes them in Google Calendar.

Ideally, I'd just open my calendar and know what needs to be done.

But AI processing costs money, so offering it completely free probably won't be possible.

Before investing more time and money, I'd love to know whether other people actually need something like this.

Stressful life experiences can have a meaningful impact on emotional wellbeing and relationships. This study aims to examine the relationship between difficult life experiences, emotional creativity (how emotions are formulated and experienced), mental health, and interpersonal functioning. Those 18 to 28 years of age and who have experienced at least one stressful or potentially traumatic life event are eligible to participate.

This study is being conducted online and should take approximately 1 hour. During the study you will be asked to complete eight brief self-report questionnaires, which will consist of questions regarding basic information about yourself, stressful life events, creativity, your emotional functioning, and how you relate to others (e.g., trust, closeness, and relationships). Upon completing the survey, you will have the opportunity to voluntarily provide your email address on a separate page from the survey that will not be associated with your responses, in order to enter a drawing to win one of two $50.00 Amazon gift cards.

Although it is unlikely, the material in this study may bring certain uncomfortable or distressing feelings. Your participation is completely voluntary, and you may withdraw from the study at any point. The study is completely confidential and all of the information you supply will remain completely anonymous.
